What a wonderful film. The late Bob Anderson features. Bob's son, Bruce, is one of closest and oldest friends. Victor of both the 350 and 500 races is the indomitable John Surtees. Like John, Bob Anderson went onto a career in F1, running as a privateer. Alas Bob lost his life testing at Silverstone in 1967 while driving his modified Brabham BT11. In 1965 Bob raced for Yamaha at Assen in the 1966 Dutch TT. ruclips.net/video/1B3KVUw9PMk/видео.html
Grand Pri racing tradition, is run across track, push start, with dead engine, ,,,, that helps stretch out field of Racers, for safer starting. Same with some car Events, The Driver would run across track, jump in, buckle up, if chose to, dead engine, start.
@@timtripp4222 and why not have a starter or kick start? And how can they easily start the engine by pushing? It's not so easy with my motorcycles, I need a downhill.
2 and 4 cylinders, sounds galore.
Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful racing, great riders and bikes! Great to see Gary Hocking showing the brilliance that took him to the very top - on Reg Dearden's Nortons?
Some of the grandest prix in all of France!
Thank you 👍
Unreal tandem action near end. Wow.
Great Stuff ! 👍👍
J'ai tourné sur le circuit la nuit du samedi au dimanche lors du GP de 1974.
Leaded fuel and drum brakes? Bring it!

Gary Hocking also tried his hand at F1 in 1962 and he did very well
Sadly he died in an accident during Practice for a Race in South Africa
Why don't they start the engines before the race starts?

They rode super conservative by today's standards. This is awesome to watch though.
Tyres still weren't very good. They must have improved rapidly as by the mid 1960s the top riders were cornering much faster.
commentary is all about the riders... as if they are all riding the same sort of bike!
motorcycles existed in 1959!? jk..
First motorcycle was built before 1,900, Harly Davidson started in 1,903, I believe?
Americans always playing catch up and in my opinion still trying to catch up😂@@timtripp4222
Why was the cop chasing that guy? Drunk and disorderly?
Very slow compared to today's speeds.
even if they would have been more powerful the technology of motorcycle tires at that time was not advanced enough .
Why don't they get the circuit going again
