    I have dry eye and could not tolerate the acuvue oasis even for a day. I was given the Dailies Total to try and was blown away. My eyes feel more comfortable with them in than out. Alcon did something very special with these lenses.

    great review! I liked that you mentioned that these contacts make work differently for people. I tried both these brands because the Acuvue moist weren't good enough because of my dry eyes. However, the difference for me between dailies total1 and Acuvue oasys hydralux was crazy different. By the 6th hour, the acuvue made my eyes super red! even if I was consistently adding eyedrops throughout the day + I never achieved true comfort at any point of the day with those on. The dailies total1 however was SO much better for me. I can wear them for 12+ hours with only minor discomfort at the end of the day but great comfort for up to the 7th hour and no red eyes!
    I guess everyones eyes works differently but if you have dry eyes, the dailies total1 are for you. Unparalleled comfort!

      Thanks for watching! I agree that Dailies Total1 is definitely more hydrating for the eyes, especially those who have dry eyes. Since I've never had much problem with dry eyes, I prefer the Acuvue Oasys because of the ease. It's also the brand I trust most because I've used every single type of lens they have ever made over the last 10 years. So at the end of the day, go for whatever works best for you :)

    • @forgewire
      @forgewire 7 лет назад +1

      AskAshley I'm not sure what do you mean by "ease". I've been wearing Acuvues for the last 20 years and the only Acuvue I can only tolerate is 1 day moist. Trueye and Oasys are terrible I can't wear them for more then a few hours. Total 1 totally outperform them for me.

    Acuvue feels soft and squishy. Which is really nice. I don’t feel them in my eye at all. I’ve tried other brands that straight up hurt my eyes. The bad ones are usually more stiff.

    Totally agree. I’ve been wearing contacts for over 20 years and have only ever worn Oasys or Trushape until just 3 months ago when my optometrist suggest I try something different and so I am currently using Alcon Precision. They aren’t terrible lenses but I’ve found that they don’t feel as comfortable and I have less clarity than the oasys. Great review!!

    Hi Ashley! Thank you so much for this video! I am switching to soft contact lenses and doctor gave me these two brands to try out and please don't mind me for posting my opinion here.
    I have very very dry eyes, and both lenses are very comfortable in my eyes. But I do notice that the Alcon Daily Total 1 is more breathable in my eyes and they stay slippery/moisturized at the end of the day. However, I noticed that the Alcon Daily Total 1 lenses will fold/curve when I open the box.
    The downside of the Alcon lenses, besides what you have mentioned in your video, is that they don't offer stigma correction so my vision is a bit of blurry with Alcon while I can see very clearly with the Acuvue Oasys.
    Honestly I cannot decide which is better for me, since I have dry eyes (Alcon really helps me with this) and astigmatism (Acuvue is better in this case). Pricewise, the acuvue will be pricier with stigma correction but I don't really mind the price. For a better and sharper vision, since I need it for classes, I would go for Acuvue.

    Actually Acuvue Oasys 1 Day has one of the highest UV protection but it is still important to note that it will not completely replace sunglasses as it only covers the cornea and part of the conjunctiva.

    I have worn both brands and have dry eyes. I found that the Dalies total 1 are not good for dry eyes, I found they took longer to settle into your eyes and dry out much quicker and do not reset with tears. The hydraluxe are by far the most comfortable lens I’ve ever worn. In fact, ive used it so much I don’t notice when I’m running low.

    I've been wearing Oasys years. The last couple years i've noticed at times they just suddenly go blurry on me. I asked my doctor about it last year and he told me my prescription had not changed. Perhaps it's time to switch to a higher water content lens. The only thing I can imagine is happening is that the lenses are drying out.

    That's a great review Ashley. I tried both contact lenses during my trial period of one month, and I found the Dailies total to be the winner in terms of comfort and breathability. I hardly have to use wetting drops throughout the day. With the Acuvue, although quite comfortable, I definitely had to use wetting drops several times throughout the day. Also agree with you about removing the Dailies, they're so slippery, sometime is quite frustrating to remove them. If you share tips on how to easily remove them, would appreciate it.

    • @AskAshley
      @AskAshley  7 лет назад +5

      Thanks for watching! When taking off my Dailies Total1 I make sure fingers are completely dry by wiping them with a paper towel. If I fail the first time, I wipe my fingers again and pat my eyes dry with the paper towel before trying again. Also, I pinch my lens with a wide gap between the two fingers. This ensures I get enough grip on the silicon!

      I also love the Dailies for comfort, but they are way too hard to remove. Sometimes its scary. I do pinch my lid, but the lens is still hard to remove. But if you put a drop of solution in your eye it makes removal a bit easier.

    For me, the dailies total 1 lenses have much better longevity for moisture retention even after 36 hrs of using them. I really miss the acuvue oasys features but after wearing them for a typical 16 hr day, they would be extremely dried out requiring me to peel them away from my eyes as they no longer glided over my eyes.

I just feel better. Ofcourse i everyday put lens on night to clean, but the next day wearing the same lens and feel soo good. My last compare its Bausch&Lomb soflens 59 1 month. Really this lens wear good for max 1 week, after 7-10 days i fell bad this lens, and red eye problems. Now not problems after wear 1 day alcon for sometimes 1 week. Its 1 day lens feel better because its 156 dk/t and soflens 59 only 22 dk/t. This is 1 month lens? 22dk/t vs 1 day 156dk/t. I dont think so. This is hydrogel vs silicone-hydrogel. The box: writes one day, you have to wear one day. what nonsense. The naive get it. I prefer a 1-day regimen to change weekly, rather than a monthly one every 30 days. Where will more bacteria accumulate? One day lenses do not fall apart after a week or two. After a week, you can still see it well. Nothing problems. Sorry for my english.

    After using Coopervision Proclear for several years, my optometrist suggested I try Alcon Total 1.
    I’m not a person who has trouble wearing lenses and can usually keep them in right from the time I get up until time for bed so a change wasn’t really warranted but my optometrist occasionally likes me to try a sample of something different.
    For vision, the Alcon multi focal lenses were a marked improvement but getting them out at the end of the day is a horror show by comparison to my “Coopers” or any other lens I’ve tried over the years for that matter.
    Unless someone can show me a painless, safe and expedient method of getting the Alcons out of my eyes at the end of the day, I will certainly not be switching brands anytime soon.

      Total 1 is too difficult, impossible?, to tell the inside or outside. I recently bought them, and this morning i flipped one lens like 10 times, but still not sure if it was the correct side when i put them in.
      I am looking at the one row/5 blisters now, two lenses face down, so they do rotate in the package, but will they flip, maybe yes, maybe not.
      Taking them out is very easy. Massage your eye lid 3-5 times gently before taking them out. Very easy and simple.

    UV protection seems to be a point of discussion, correcting lenses: spectacles or contacts.. the question I put to my ophthalmologist who doesn't require correcting lenses concerned UV protection. As a species since the dawn of creation we've always had to live with naturally occurring UV light. If UV is a problem for me as a lens wearer, how does she deal with the UV problem as a non corrective lens wearer? Which UV type poses the problem?

      She took two off the pack. She was talking about separating first, but since she probably has the same script in each eye, used two at a time.

    hy Ashley did you get the water content wrong because I thought the water content on the dailies were over 80% whereas the acute is 38%

    • @AskAshley
      @AskAshley  7 лет назад +1

      The Dailies has a core water content of 33% and the Acuvue is 38%. This number is indicative of how moist the centre is, the part where you would actually see through the lens. The 80% is about the surface water content for the Dailies. Unfortunately Acuvue did not release that number so I cannot say for sure if it is less or more. But from my personal experience with both lenses, I believe the Dailies has a slightly higher surface water content than the Acuvues because it is much more slippery to touch.

    • @forgewire
      @forgewire 7 лет назад +7

      AskAshley I don't care whether they are slippery or not. Eye comfort is what that counts most for me.

      I do not wear toric lenses so I won't be able to comment on that. However, with both these lenses I am able to wear them for 12 hours.

    Can i reuse them for a few days when i only wear them 2-4 hours a day, dont wear them overnight, and disinfect them every night with new solution?

    • @AskAshley
      @AskAshley  4 года назад +1

      No, you should not be reusing one day contact lenses. If you wish to use your lenses more frequent, I would recommend bi-weekly/monthly lenses such as Acuvue Oasys 2 Week. .

      I wouldn't recommend contacts for full-out swimming. I usually wear them with a snorkelling mask on so that I can see clearly underwater.

      hi hi, is it comfortable to wear? as informed, must clean and dry our hands when we handle the len as the outermost surface of dailies total 1 has approaching 100% water content which enable u to hav superior confort even end of the day....

Now i' understand already, our schytian-hun bactria-margiana ancestors behave with the altai based nations, and why helped to founding the chinese empire for the chinese peoples as well. Some of them (actualy alot) came to here the central europe with their wifes, we found those in the avar-hun era cemeteries, and their descendants living is still here, but turned to huns :) I can't imagine how can be somebody adorable like this girl. Seriously.
