The skill level here is off the charts. I have no ideas what these men are paid but I'm sure its not enough. No Dr. no lawyer no politition any where could do this job. Please excuse my writing. It seems I'm experiencing outside interference...
Normally you hook up the dolly to the back of a trailer, and back it under your rear trailer, you can do it like this guy if you have someone to hook it into the pull on the bulbar, but most drivers hook up like I explained, as it saves a lot of time, and can be done by one person.
He’s a tall man ,when he get out of the truck one step and feet were on the ground and not much daylights around he when get back in cab ,he’ll be a ruckman for sure👍
I would love to see how they hook up more than three trailers, reversing more than one trailer takes alot of practise and skill. I figure it is impossible to reverse more than two without one or more dollies going out of line within a few metres.
Putting the dolly under a loaded trailer without firstly winding up the legs a bit is a great way to bend the legs, otherwise I approve, although it is quicker to reverse the lead trailer and dolly onto the dog trailer.
There is always someone who can say that you are doing it wrong or they can do it better, don't take any notice of them for most of them are full of BULLSHIT. If it works for you DO IT.
The clutch works the same as a car, except for two differences. On a truck, if you push the clutch in all the way, you stop the gearbox from turning. It's called your "stop clutch." Two : The clutch is big & heavy duty so it is air assisted in operation. In a manual truck like this, you really only use the clutch to stop, or change direction, forward to reverse etc. Driving you work on engine revs verses ground speed to change gears.
I have a small question, do they pay You as a truck driver or OB owner for pulling 2 3 4 trailers.?. In a sense, if You pull extra trailer than You should be paid extra money. I understand the pride of a trucker to pull Australian Road train, but dont You fell being used, the load brokers do not pay the driver as they should for pulling extra loads. Sad. TH
I think depending on the jobs in question they get paid per trailer, for example. If a owner operator was pulling a 3 trailer road train he could possibly have 3 seperate jobs, one for each trailer. Working in fuel and maintenance costs is a totally different story though
I saw the tug test comment and was going to say, I hope he doesn't rely on just a tug test, I always get under the trailer, with a flash light....but he didn't even tug the damn thing! Someone didn't have a very good instructor.
I don't have a bloke to hook me up .. I have a 8wheeler tipper and 5axel tipper to hook up to another 5axle tipper .. I have at least one more article point to make the same hook up ....
Excellent video. I really like how he used the tow pin in the bulbar to position the dolly.

So that's why heavy duty semis sometimes have a hitch in the front bumper. Learned something new today!
Nice video mate. Thanks for sharing.

Hard to backup a short trailer you cant see

Os Australianos lidam muito bem com estas composições.

Thanks. It was late afternoon.
Awesome job champ...
wow,that´s very interesting ......thanks...
Tem que ser muito perito para fazer acontecer com esses grandes maquinários!👏👍
No tug test after engaging the dolly to the B trailer. Not needed?
Terry, I would like to nominate this answer as the best I have ever read on RUclips. Cheers.

The Truth Hurts Mate it won't hurt the legs.
Nice one Steve!, long shadows there, morning or arvo' mate?

*Modern Lorry Drivers are Crisp, and Sharp*
lorries are for pussys. Real men drive Trucks.
Is there a set of air line connectors at the front of the trailer for the dolly brakes?
Experience shows here. Top answer.
Thanks for the video. Do these trucks have a special hydraulic clutch for starting up, or is it a standard clutch and gearbox version ?
It's got a road ranger. So it's a non synchronized gearbox. Meaning it doesn't have a synchroniser ring to slow the gears down to slid it in

Thats the hard way to do it maybe im just lazy but i always hook my front trailer up to my dolly then back on to the dog trailer its so much easier
Deitroit Diesel?

Did you loose the gear at the end? 3:08
cant wait til im able to get my HR or MR license :D
That shunter's wife must love him when he gets home, not a glove in sight.
That's how rookies do it
What model Western Star is that?
4800
@@thermidorlevrai65 4800 is shorter bonnet like an sar I’d say it’s a old heritage 4900
He just rammed the dolly in there with out winding the legs up.

Why does this guy keep getting in and out of the passenger side? Is his driver side door broken? Wouldn't that be easier? LOL
That is the driver side.
@@pauljarvis446Thank you, it was satirical ( I live in North America). That's why I put the LOL.

That's weird seeing a trucker in shorts. No western hat or cowboy boots! Aussie truckers are not like I was years ago!
Isn't this more like a set of doubles though? A road train is about 3 or more trailers
I think anything over 2 full size trailers is basically a road train here.
Legally 2 or more trailers is a road train
punk rock trucker a road train is when 2 or more trailers are connected via a converter dolly.
@@truckerruss5764 not obligated to be a dolly t can be b double and more
@@thermidorlevrai65 a b double is not a road train neither is a b triple. Roadtrains have a dolly connecting trailers. I drive the things mate.
What about the third trailer?
Incomplete video.
@Return of the Native Of course idiot cannot maybe you can if you are wise.
Doesnt need a third trailer to be a road train. B triples and quads are now classes as type 1 trains and type 2 is 2 trailers linked via dolly
Should be " how not to make a roadtrain" 😂😂😂
fucking rough on the gear
Australia m9
You got that right
how do they get the 3rd trailer connected?
Shit truck I now someone that has a kenworth t909
And your point is?
There both about the same mate this is an older truck but the western stars have more space so that your mum has more room.
jeep
you should of titled it to how to assemble a road train not how to make a road train lol
Privat video!
