My favourite perfume ever 😥 they should never have discontinued. There's a pattern that my favourite perfumes become discontinued. This definitely my all time favorite though.

It's a shame they took this one away, I will never understand it at ALL!! I live in hope it will come back. At least we still have Hypnotic, although it's reformulated it's still OK.
@@genavieve994 it can’t come back because they can’t source the same materials. Also the notes are much more expensive now. And some ingredients have been banned . They don’t reformulate coz they want to it’s coz they have no choice.
My Pastor’s wife donated an UNOPENED bottle a 3.4 Oz bottle of Midnight to the Church rummage sale. Knowing me as a fraghead she asked me if I wanted her to put it aside… I told her OF COURSE!!! And then went to the bank and took out $200 hoping and praying that she would accept it, since unopened Dior Midnight Poison (still with the plastic wrap still on as well) go for anywhere from $250-$450 depending on the size as well. She asked me for $5 😮 I donated the rest to my Church and rushed home to open it and spritz it on my wrist! My husband about had a heart attack! “You OPENED it?!!” He said 😂 yeah… I’m going to WEAR IT!!
Hi Emilio,well I personally don't wear Poison but I totally appreciate it for what it is. The fact that it's such a classic and a huge powerhouse. To me it smells like the deepest plum and incense fragrance with huge amounts of dark musks and Tuberose. The tuberose in this is very heavy and not like say.."Xtina Inspire" or "Paris Hilton Tease". It's one of the richest fragrances around and I reckon if worn in the right amounts could be really alluring. But mainly, the longevity is crazy!
So strange I just bought a full 100ml of this so excited as it’s hard to get this now gorgeous rose love it it’s nearly new year for 2023 happy new year I will definitely be celebrating with this gem 🤩
Yes! Just to pre-warn you though, it is not simply a "stronger" version. It does have differences to the one you are probably used to. i've been reading up and apparently it's more floral, with liquorice tones, less gourmand. I cannot wait to try it though!
Happy New Year :) I've sampled this scent many times. To me it's so boring, good but not good enough. It is not the darkest poison nor the most masculine. I'm interested in smelling the "Elixir" + "Extrait" Also Belle D'Opium is kind of similar to Midnight Poison EDP Get well soon, You always make some interesting reviews Kind regards.

Absolutely! It's such a special one. I am kinda scared to wear mine now as it's so rare. Only really on special occasions. Ya know, it's my birthday tomorrow and I'm going out with lots of friends. I think I might wear it tomorrow, you've inspired me. :)

I have about half left. When I have done sample swaps with people before EVERYONE asks for Midnight Poison. I have decanted it out to so many people I have left myself short. NO MORE WILL THIS HAPPEN! HAHA.

Hey, you're pretty fun to watch. =) Thanks for the perfume reviews. Just to let you know though, the listed notes don't signify what really goes into the perfume. Perfumers work with thousands of aromachemicals (synthetic, natural, all sorts--very chemistry/science stuff) and who knows just how many end up in the final juice. The final listing is there more for marketing purposes and to give an idea of what the product smells like.
Oh yes! I think if they listed every ingredient it would be much easier to steal the formula hehe. Plus it wouldn't look as pretty. It would be all...benzaldehyde, citral x litsea cubeba blah blah hehe. Not very easy to read. :)
Great review ouch , got me a part bottle of this Jan 2012 so reform but boy oh boy it's orgasmic , by way do u no anything about 2007 and 2012 versions and in what way there different ? I did ask someone on fragrantica she said 2012 is bit sweeter than 2007 and earlier one is more darker patchouli but she preferred the 2012 sweeter version. But u may or may not be able to add to that , depends what's in that cupboard lol ,so I guess now I gotta go get me some paper for the 2007 haha ;) just in case it's even better ?? Why are Dior so mental as to remove this from the line up it's Stunning even the advert is pukka and then that blue glass bottle ! Sickest or what :) ps i love your enthusiasm over fragrance
Hi Gina, ya know..I have tried the older one. I think it had silver writing or a silver bottle neck? I can't really remember though. I know it was much much stronger though. :( I think Dior are crazy for taking this out of their line. SO SILLY considering how popular it is. I'm hoping it will come back one day. :(
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews you are right the earlier 2007 is silver neck and wording and the 2012 is gold writing from what I read, I can imagine the earlier one is stronger probably Dior like many houses are constantly changing formula in part because of EU regulations, in the end we will be getting coloured water ;) their also Cuckoo to let this one go it seems to have a lotta lourrrrrve ! I certainly think it's worth them bringing it back out , I don't remember the advert being on TV but I watched it on RUclips it was classy ! ✋ take care mate !

It does. There are far worse things out there than perfume but...what can we do? I just hunt down vintages, or try cool niche fragrances to make up for it. :) There are always new fragrances waiting to be discovered!
I was going to purchase Midnight Poison but you said it was "a little masculine". I'm a tall woman and don't want anything to make me more masculine. I have CK Obsession and my husband loves it but I think it is masculine. I don't want "candy sweet" either. I love the hypnotic poison. I say Pure Poison is for church and Hypnotic Poison is for the bedroom. Where does this one fall?
+Jennifer Johnson Yes it definitely is masculine. This is poison for halloween on a night out haha. A good suggestion is the other perfume I mentioned in the video the YSL Elle? It's like midnight poison but more feminine. :)
My YSL Elle came in the mail yesterday (which is a miracle since we're in the middle of a blizzard here!). I have to say, 4 perfumes you have recommended have been awesome. I got the Pure Poison and the Hypnotic poison and loved them right away. Alien took me a while to warm up to but now I love it. The same thing with YSL Elle. The top notes throw me a little, but once it dries, I love it. Thanks for your help. I want to try Samsara next.
Now there is "Poison Girl" but I've heard nothing but indifference. (Haven't smelled it yet as I'm in the US). They SHOULD do a 6th poison, and do it more justice! I'm dying for a Midnight Poison but I"m so afraid of fakes! I've heard that they've only gotten better, I'm not sure of the "CD" on the atomizer and the presence of a batch code is enough anymore...
I haven't spelt Poison in years, not since the 80s. But if you go into your local super market and look in the cleaning products isle. Pick up Oust Clean Scent. The one with the light blue top. I swear that smells like Poison.
That should of said smelt :) I picked up a can from Wilkinson the other day, have seen them in Tesco as well. Be aware I haven't smelt Poison since the 80s so could be remembering the smell wrong but normally smells last with people for years because they tend to trigger memories. First thing it triggered for me was Poison from the 80s.
This is amazing, I've used this and now the only chance i have to buy this is to buy replicas :( so sad. I loved this perfume to death i really hope that i will find a bunch of these as replica because i tried many others perfumes that several people said that are similar but they are not. Great review
The most similar I have found is "Elle" by YSL. I think I mentioned it in the review. Maybe give that one a try? it is more feminine though but has a similar feel.

Loved Ur review! I love all the Poisons too (and im male)! In winter i wear the original poison and midnight poison and during the summer pure poison :) but my real signature scent is midnight poison! Loved how u describe it - just amazing! :) But from 2014 on its discontinued! I can't buy it anymore in stores here in Switzerland! So to everybody that loved this scent - go and grab the last bottles now! ,,-(
I think Dior have gone a bit crazy! They keep reformulating and discontinuing their perfumes. I just hope they better have some AMAZING perfumes in the pipeline! Otherwise..I will no longer buy their products. The quality has gone downhill majorly and it's really frustrating. Thanks for your nice comment!! :)
ouch110 yes! same thing with Dior Homme Intense...at the beginning it was a stunning fragrance..then they reformulated it to make it more manly..and 1013 they reformulated it again to the original style...dunno whats going on at dior xD ...hopefully as u said there should be a NEW Poison! and not like hypnotic poison, eau sensuelle, eau fraiche etc. -.- and keep up ur reviews! :)

Yes! I saw this recently. I realllllly want it. It's not "New" as such, but at least they have finally released an EDP version of Hypnotic Poison. I would really like an entirely new poison like a foresty one, or something like that. :)

No it's the true one. I got a legit one from 2007 and liquid is also kinda greenish. So, yours is not a fake (of course there are other factors as wel).

Thank you! It seems so long ago now. Hmm this one is really tough to find, especially because there are so many fakes out there. Dior and Chanel are the MOST faked brands out there. Your best bet is to maybe join some fragrance sale groups on facebook, and look out for Decants for sale. I would avoid ebay at all costs really. I'm really not sure why they took this away, such a silly thing to do. You could always try out Elle by Ysl like I said in the video, it's a GREAT alternative to Midnight Poison.
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews hey man. Yeah I have Elle both in EDP intense and EDT but they just won't last on my skin. It disappears after like 3 hours, it's ridiculous. I'm buying one from a Brazilian brand Called mahogany and the perfume is called python & flowers. I've heard it's pretty similar and it lasts a really long time on the skin so we'll see. Do you still have your MP or is it finished? Cheers.
Oh that's a shame. I have Elle EDP but I think mine is the old formula so, it lasts a really long time. My MP? I still have it. It's very precious so I only wear it on special occasions. Plus it was a gift from someone special too hehe.
+Lena S Hello. :) Well...neither formulation should smell like blueberries really hehe. The formulations are different but not massively in terms of smell. You should smell patchouli mainly, like an earthy green smell with roses. Now...Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears...THAT smells like blueberries. :)

It is now very hard to find unfortunately. At the time of this review it was still available but it was disappearing. You will maybe have to try Drug Stores or Chemists to see if they have old stock. The other place is Ebay but be VERY careful as there are a lot of fakes. :)
Xozzen It is marketed for women yes, but it has a masculine edge. It's quite heavy on the patchouli and it kinda dark smelling so...I think a guy can easily pull this off. It's a great fragrance.

I absolutely adore this fragrance... I think this is sex in a bottle. Quite a more feminine version of Zino Davidoff, which I think is the best, most sexy fragrance for men....
Goodlife is my signature fragrance and never a day goes by when I have it on that at least a couple of women have "smelled" me and just had to know what it was. I love Davidoff!!
I still have my bottle from 2007, I don’t know if that’s gross- but to me it smells just the same as it did then... It hasn’t gone “off”. I kept it for sentimental reasons as my bestie at the time bought it for my birthday and it became my signature scent. So unique, mysterious and now so rare.
It’s been discontinued for ever. I have a bottle too, 90% left and I’m using it sparingly. But mine is the reformulated one which is sad but it’s still beautiful

Yes definitley try it out. I'ts a gorgeous dark patchouli rose combo that works so well on me. Hypnotic is also lovely but not really for everyone, it's a very unique smell. I also reviewed that one. :)
I know this is 10 years old now but you have me wanting to get this SO BAD. I was a teenager when the original Poison came out & was in love with it and wore it all the time. I still wear it. I have & like Hypnotic Poison but I'm drooling for Midnight Poison and doubt I'll ever get to smell it. I see it on ebay but the prices are insane. WIsh I hadn't dropped out of the fragrance scene, I might have had a bottle of this. Great review mate!

I bot online last year, and to my surprise, it's the 2007th batch. Tester bottle with 3 olfactory notes written at the back part of the bottle (Damascena Rose Essence, Patchouli, and Amber) The serial alphanumerical number is engraved on the bottle. I was indeed so happy. :-)
Beautiful fragrance, don’t know why it was discontinued. Maybe could have been promoted more, it’s much more of a mainstream fragrance in comparison to original, surprised if it didn’t sell well

I absolutely love that Midnight Poison. It might be a bit much for the daytime but its a favourite of mine for a night out with a special someone...that mystery and seduction never fails to enchant them.
You said and showed that this bottle is blue but there are other color variations, did you mean for other sizes of this same one? I ask because mine is the 100 ml and the bottle is blue but under the light it is green. It has CD on the top of the cap and I do believe it is genuine but thought to get your input.
The different coloured poisons have differnent names. Purple - Poison (The original) Blue -Midnight. Red - hypnotic. Green - Tendre. White - Pure. There are multiple red ones howver, but still under the name "Hypnotic" There is only blue one which is Midnight. They changed the bottle and formualtion a few times over though. :)
Hello. I just found two bottles on sale in a store close to my place but they don't have a tester. I would like to buy it, but I am a little bit afraid of the patchulli notem They don't have YSL elle neither. Do you know any other patchuli fragrance that gets closer to MP? Is it as strong as miss dior Le Parfum, for example? ☺
Hello! I really don't know any other fragrance that's like this however....if I saw this in a drugstore I would snap it up in a heartbeat!!!! It does have a strong patchouli note however. :(

My YSL Elle came in the mail yesterday (which is a miracle since we're in the middle of a blizzard here!). I have to say, 4 perfumes you have recommended have been awesome. I got the Pure Poison and the Hypnotic poison and loved them right away. Alien took me a while to warm up to but now I love it. The same thing with YSL Elle. The top notes throw me a little, but once it dries, I love it. Thanks for your help. I want to try Samsara next.
Now there is "Poison Girl" but I've heard nothing but indifference. (Haven't smelled it yet as I'm in the US). They SHOULD do a 6th poison, and do it more justice!
I'm dying for a Midnight Poison but I"m so afraid of fakes! I've heard that they've only gotten better, I'm not sure of the "CD" on the atomizer and the presence of a batch code is enough anymore...

I haven't spelt Poison in years, not since the 80s. But if you go into your local super market and look in the cleaning products isle. Pick up Oust Clean Scent. The one with the light blue top. I swear that smells like Poison.

That should of said smelt :) I picked up a can from Wilkinson the other day, have seen them in Tesco as well.
Be aware I haven't smelt Poison since the 80s so could be remembering the smell wrong but normally smells last with people for years because they tend to trigger memories. First thing it triggered for me was Poison from the 80s.
Hehe I still want to try it. Poison is a plummy incense and tuberose so..I really am intrigued to smell Oust now haha.

This is amazing, I've used this and now the only chance i have to buy this is to buy replicas :( so sad. I loved this perfume to death i really hope that i will find a bunch of these as replica because i tried many others perfumes that several people said that are similar but they are not. Great review
The most similar I have found is "Elle" by YSL. I think I mentioned it in the review. Maybe give that one a try? it is more feminine though but has a similar feel.

BUT the midnight one has something, that hint of masculinity that just completely blows my mind. Btw i must say that i ADORE your channel and i really hope that we will hear about you as a business man - a high end perfumer.
What would you recommend to replace MP? I wish Dior would bring it back 😩 (I already have Elle YSL which is also discontinued)
It's a tough one, my go to would be YSL like you said...other than that? I really don't know of anything else that comes close. :( sad times.

Loved Ur review! I love all the Poisons too (and im male)! In winter i wear the original poison and midnight poison and during the summer pure poison :) but my real signature scent is midnight poison! Loved how u describe it - just amazing! :) But from 2014 on its discontinued! I can't buy it anymore in stores here in Switzerland! So to everybody that loved this scent - go and grab the last bottles now! ,,-(
I think Dior have gone a bit crazy! They keep reformulating and discontinuing their perfumes. I just hope they better have some AMAZING perfumes in the pipeline! Otherwise..I will no longer buy their products. The quality has gone downhill majorly and it's really frustrating. Thanks for your nice comment!! :)
ouch110 yes! same thing with Dior Homme Intense...at the beginning it was a stunning fragrance..then they reformulated it to make it more manly..and 1013 they reformulated it again to the original style...dunno whats going on at dior xD ...hopefully as u said there should be a NEW Poison! and not like hypnotic poison, eau sensuelle, eau fraiche etc. -.-

Yes! I saw this recently. I realllllly want it. It's not "New" as such, but at least they have finally released an EDP version of Hypnotic Poison. I would really like an entirely new poison like a foresty one, or something like that. :)

Hello! You can see through the bottle but it's hard to tell what colour the liquid is because of the glass. :)

No it's the true one. I got a legit one from 2007 and liquid is also kinda greenish. So, yours is not a fake (of course there are other factors as wel).

Thank you! It seems so long ago now. Hmm this one is really tough to find, especially because there are so many fakes out there. Dior and Chanel are the MOST faked brands out there. Your best bet is to maybe join some fragrance sale groups on facebook, and look out for Decants for sale. I would avoid ebay at all costs really. I'm really not sure why they took this away, such a silly thing to do. You could always try out Elle by Ysl like I said in the video, it's a GREAT alternative to Midnight Poison.
ouch110 Fragrance Reviews hey man. Yeah I have Elle both in EDP intense and EDT but they just won't last on my skin. It disappears after like 3 hours, it's ridiculous. I'm buying one from a Brazilian brand Called mahogany and the perfume is called python & flowers. I've heard it's pretty similar and it lasts a really long time on the skin so we'll see. Do you still have your MP or is it finished? Cheers.
Oh that's a shame. I have Elle EDP but I think mine is the old formula so, it lasts a really long time. My MP? I still have it. It's very precious so I only wear it on special occasions. Plus it was a gift from someone special too hehe.

+Lena S Hello. :) Well...neither formulation should smell like blueberries really hehe. The formulations are different but not massively in terms of smell. You should smell patchouli mainly, like an earthy green smell with roses. Now...Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears...THAT smells like blueberries. :)

It is now very hard to find unfortunately. At the time of this review it was still available but it was disappearing. You will maybe have to try Drug Stores or Chemists to see if they have old stock. The other place is Ebay but be VERY careful as there are a lot of fakes. :)

Xozzen It is marketed for women yes, but it has a masculine edge. It's quite heavy on the patchouli and it kinda dark smelling so...I think a guy can easily pull this off. It's a great fragrance.

I absolutely adore this fragrance... I think this is sex in a bottle. Quite a more feminine version of Zino Davidoff, which I think is the best, most sexy fragrance for men....
Goodlife is my signature fragrance and never a day goes by when I have it on that at least a couple of women have "smelled" me and just had to know what it was. I love Davidoff!!

I still have my bottle from 2007, I don’t know if that’s gross- but to me it smells just the same as it did then... It hasn’t gone “off”. I kept it for sentimental reasons as my bestie at the time bought it for my birthday and it became my signature scent. So unique, mysterious and now so rare.
It’s been discontinued for ever. I have a bottle too, 90% left and I’m using it sparingly. But mine is the reformulated one which is sad but it’s still beautiful
They should do some sort of foresty/green version. Or maybe something aquatic!

To me I think that the original Poison is the most masculine, It is heavy on the spice with a grape/berry kick. Hypnotic Poison comes after it.
Im still saving money to get this on a collector Website in austria . It is so divine and I hope they bring this back

Yes definitley try it out. I'ts a gorgeous dark patchouli rose combo that works so well on me. Hypnotic is also lovely but not really for everyone, it's a very unique smell. I also reviewed that one. :)
I know this is 10 years old now but you have me wanting to get this SO BAD. I was a teenager when the original Poison came out & was in love with it and wore it all the time. I still wear it. I have & like Hypnotic Poison but I'm drooling for Midnight Poison and doubt I'll ever get to smell it. I see it on ebay but the prices are insane. WIsh I hadn't dropped out of the fragrance scene, I might have had a bottle of this. Great review mate!

I bot online last year, and to my surprise, it's the 2007th batch. Tester bottle with 3 olfactory notes written at the back part of the bottle (Damascena Rose Essence, Patchouli, and Amber) The serial alphanumerical number is engraved on the bottle. I was indeed so happy. :-)

Beautiful fragrance, don’t know why it was discontinued. Maybe could have been promoted more, it’s much more of a mainstream fragrance in comparison to original, surprised if it didn’t sell well

I absolutely love that Midnight Poison. It might be a bit much for the daytime but its a favourite of mine for a night out with a special someone...that mystery and seduction never fails to enchant them.
You said and showed that this bottle is blue but there are other color variations, did you mean for other sizes of this same one? I ask because mine is the 100 ml and the bottle is blue but under the light it is green. It has CD on the top of the cap and I do believe it is genuine but thought to get your input.
The different coloured poisons have differnent names. Purple - Poison (The original) Blue -Midnight. Red - hypnotic. Green - Tendre. White - Pure. There are multiple red ones howver, but still under the name "Hypnotic" There is only blue one which is Midnight. They changed the bottle and formualtion a few times over though. :)

Hello. I just found two bottles on sale in a store close to my place but they don't have a tester. I would like to buy it, but I am a little bit afraid of the patchulli notem They don't have YSL elle neither. Do you know any other patchuli fragrance that gets closer to MP? Is it as strong as miss dior Le Parfum, for example? ☺
Hello! I really don't know any other fragrance that's like this however....if I saw this in a drugstore I would snap it up in a heartbeat!!!! It does have a strong patchouli note however. :(

@@ouch110 Im from Dubai and I bought from a local shop here but online, its not bad but the way my sister decribed it to me was diffrent 😂😂 for me the smell is very common thats why I didnt like it so much.
