im a huge fan of dreamzzz, but honestly i think my favorite part of it is not the story itself but the POTENTIAL of it
I spend hours thinking of my own stuff, using the show only as a platform to build off on for unique stories and 'what if' scenarios

i enjoyed some of it. Logan actually grew on me as a character. i feel like, he's a "jerk-character" done right.
He didn't just "flip a switch", when joining the friend-group and only gradually became less of a jerk, his flaws were believable and he really grew in his own way, finding unconventional methods to bring himself into the action.
as for the other characters...

yeah, i got nothing, really. i mean, they're at least distinguishable and have some cute dynamics with each other, but Logan seems like the most remarkable to me. it's like, because he's so flawed, he's allowed the most to actually grow.
The worst thing Dreamzzz ever did tho was replace Spinjitzu Brothers 5 with a random dreamzzz book!
I understand being upset about the book not releasing, but you cant blame the show for what ameet (the company that makes the books) did. Trust me when i say that show creatures are never that involved in the process of the creation of books/magazines

Dreamzzz definitely like a dream to me. I had an enjoyable time but ultimately not that memorable once you stop watching it
This show is so aggressively mid, it actually interferes with my ability to enjoy the sets to the fullest. To really get the most out of them, I’ve had to ignore the characters/story/etc and make my own headcanon.

Why such high expectations Nick? Lego shows are known for being aggressively mid. I'm always surprised when a new Lego show comes out and everyone wonders why it's so bad when it's always been like this since Ninjago.

Season 2 was a MASSIVE improvement in story, concept and villains imo, made me like Dreamzzz more

LEGO Dreamzzz is a nice show. Yes, Ninjago is by far the best show they've made but Dreamzzz does hold it own.
I love all the randomness and cool looking characters!
The Z-blob arc makes a lot more sense in light of the dependence of the professor on his monkey. Z is the same element for Mateo, and without Z he's literally missing a part of his mind. The Nightmare King was probably a similar personified-mind-chunk and his turning evil and abandoning his maker likely is what "disappeared" her.
Logan has two arcs of note: he plays the Edmund (Chronicles of Narnia) role of the group, being tempted by the bad guys and getting his character power of transforming into an evil minion form; and he goes through the trials without access to dream powers and has to find a way to succeed without them. The latter also includes his character competing with the rival team leader. In the waking world he's a popular jock and his rival is in a wheelchair, in the dreamworld he can't even dreamcraft and she's an incredibly powerful dreamcrafter. It's an interesting inversion of the stereotypical dynamic.
This guy sees Mateo losing his pet/best friend to tragic circumstances and then complaints that Mateo can’t do anything right with the weight of the situation affecting him. How he doesn’t get the point is baffling.
Dreamzzz is not for everyone, but I like it quite a bit. ❤

@@coreyhenderson9241 that’s true so I actually think that Dreamzzz should have 10 22 minute episodes because I think the story it is telling can benefit from that.
Kids should have stories they can still enjoy as adults. A story made only for kids is a bad story. I may be biased here, but a story I know from my childhood that is still relevant and, for lack of a better word, good is significantly more engaging and interesting than something you throw away when you get older.
I’m an adult and I liked the story of the show. It’s nothing groundbreaking or super deep but it’s enjoyable.
Most Lego shows probably had the producers' kids as a test audience, and kids just don't have high or any standards when it comes to storytelling or characterization.
I think a better thumbnail would actually make more people watch this video. Usually I don't care about thumbnails when watching a video, but this one made me put the video off for a while

Honestly, I prefer LEGO Friends: The Next Chapter over this. Dreamzz has good concepts, but the lessons and execution don't cut it most of the time. Meanwhile Friends managed to make an entire arc on the corrupt nature of the music industry, had an episode that's a social commentary on the modern gaming industry and even an entire episode that portrayed bullying really accurately, while having and amazing art direction and great characters.
Well dang, I didn’t know people expect a commentary on everything from a kids show nowadays. Guess we can’t just have fun.

I’m surprised how superficial his criticism is, how he doesn’t invest into the characters and situations and just says “uhh animation is not ninjago, this is not ninjago, i want more ninjago” and his takes are very misguided

I've kept a dream journal for four years now, and I'll tell you that some of the dreams I've written down have consisted of the coolest, weirdest, most unhinged things ever, but many of them also contain entire stories or characters or worlds fabricated in minutes. A lego story about dreams should be able to take advantage of all the strange creatures and places and stuff that dreams make, but (and I'm most the way through the video) its sounding like they just kinda don't. Which is just a missed opportunity.

Though season 1 Monkiekid had a lot of fillers, they were all very enjoyable fillers (esp. the race for the golden peach ep) and every one of them developed the main characters in some way.

I’ll give Season 2 a chance, but right now I’m gonna be honest, it’s kinda boring. And as you said, yeah Monkie Kid and Ninjago are a lot better. Also, I understood that Nostalgia Critic reference 😂 You ain’t slick. But yeah, it’s not bad in terms of sets, but the series doesn’t grab me and have me tuning in. Even Nexo Knights, (despite the hate), had me invested as a kid. To those who enjoy the series, that’s great, I’m glad you enjoyed it. But I don’t think it’s for me.

I feel the same way about Ninjago. Love the Lego line. I'm not really into the show that much and I tried with the show.
Lego be acknowledging fan loved themes w/o doing smth about them. Lego did that with clutch powers, except the sets were out at the time so that was more of an ad.
I didn't like the show at first but i rewatched it recently as well as the youtube shorts and i like it, i think season 2 is really stepping up the game and i am excited to see the rest of the season. It's obviously not as good as ninjago and i didn't expect it to be because ninjago is such a big show with rich story and characters so i don't think it's a fair comperison. My favourite episode is also episode 7 of the second season like you. Also i think the soundtrack of nexo knights is actually good i still remember it.
I think dreamzzz tv show is good but not prefect but season 2 was pretty good and hope the show keep on improving

I have watched all episodes so far, and I can't say that of every Lego show. I tried watching Friends, Elves, Chima, and Galidor and didn't have the patience to go past episode 1 for any of those. Nexo Knights I watched a little bit more, but I don't remember anything.
I also rewatched Hero Factory without my nostalgia goggles and was surprised how much dialogue is used for pretty much toy commercial slogans. HF was way too short for its own good. And Journey to One was just not good. So to me, Dreamzzz so far was the third best Lego show that I watched (if you count the three Ninjago shows as one).
Tbh the more you explained the story of the show the more I felt the plot could be too much for little kids lmaoooo, specifically the coma 😭😭

I watched the 1st Season back in January, but I had multiple points where I considered dropping out before finishing. It had interesting ideas and the lore of the show (particularly The Nightmare King, who probably is the best thing from the season) did intrigue me, but it was bogged down because of it's lacking execution and how often I got bored. I'll likely continue looking at set reviews and get a set or two from the theme, but I'll be skipping the show for now

Clone Wars was originally meant to be specifically for kids so that’s why szn 1 and 2 are decent at best , then they realized it could be a hit and capitalized on it, Clone Wars series GOATED 4L 🐐
I noticed the intro theme for season one of Dreamzzz sounds very similar to CW/Mandalorian.

Friends has 4 shows. 1st is Girls from Heartlake City. 2nd is Girls on a mission. 3rd and the wrose in my opinion Heartlake Stories. 4th is The next chapter.

Next chapter is much more slice of life which I love, and I’ve really enjoyed the characters of Zack, Leo, Paisly and Autumn
Old clone wars is kinda hard to watch for me. The animation looks really bad in the early seasons.

I watched all of the series so far in the last couple of days and I’m surprised that this show is so polarising. It’s obviously well made and very creative, not afraid of tackling serious topics and dealing with real life problems. The writing differs in quality from episode to episode but never gets boring or uninspired. There are some moments where power levels become unclear and villains/characters sometimes act unreasonably just because the plot requires it but overall it’s a great experience, I didn’t regret binging it. I guess some people had huge expectations so they might be a bit disappointed but I think the show will continue long enough, the sets are great and popular luckily.
R.R.Slugger did indeed call his video "i watched Lego Dreamzzz (so you don't have to)".
i watched the first season of Dreamzzz, and it was highly mid. will probably not watch the second season.
The sets however are my favourite Lego original line released last 20 years, really cool and creative stuff.
I like the concept of encouraging kids to use their imagination. The randomness of the show and how it skips around is very similar to how kids consume content on other platforms like tiktok. It's not for adults and you're analyzing the show through adult eyes, try seeing it as a kid.

Dreamzzz is not a realm. Ninjago is a TV show in the universe of dreamzzz ( because it’s in Brooklyn ). Friends and Nexo knights are also named dropped as TV shows in Dreamzzz.
The only show that is an actual realm is Chima, but Dreamzzz cannot be a realm
Dreamzzz is its own thing, because Ninjago exists in Dreamzzz only as a tv show.
Just another Lego show with bad writing that will be forgotten after a year like all the others before. I've said it before and i say it again, The first Lego Movie, Lego Batman Movie and parts of Bionicle G1 were the only Lego media with good writing. However, I haven't given Monkie Kid a chance yet, and I heard it was good, although from people who said Ninjago Season 2 was a masterpiece.
I do want to like Dreamzzz but it is one actually kind of boring the villains aren’t as complex as Ninjago and Monkie Kid the characters don’t really have relatable characters and it is simply made for kids and kids only unlike Ninjago where an adult can enjoy the pilots seasons 1 and 2 also I feel like Dreamzzz suffers from ether having 20 episodes or having the 22 minute episodes it’s one of those two things. Also instead of getting voice actors who have voiced before voiced a character cough cough Mateo.

This show is fucking persona 5. No i'm not joking. It literally has the same plot. No joke. Kids gi to world of cognition. They gain awesome abilties. They make people haopy inside the mind world. They have a wholesome mascot. They gain cool outfits. This is just persona 5.

I skimmed through the show. Didn’t watch the whole thing, but it’s not that good in my opinion. The writing and dialogue really isn’t that great and it’s really corny most of the time. I do agree that the sets are amazing though. I also really don’t like the way the trailers are done
