I Bought a Neewer 18mm Wide Angle Lens and URIG Cage for My Sony ZV1

- I replaced my broken Ulanzi wide angle lens that simply fell off my Sony ZV 1 after a Disney trip. I was frastuated but I got this new Neewer lens that is looking very good.
The main difference between the two lenses is how they connect to the camera. With the Ulanzi one, they use an adhesive sticker that you glue on top of the Sony ZV 1 built in lens, which sounds cool, but in the Nevada heat, the thing just melted off and fell, and the lens broke.
With the Neewer lens, it comes with an adapter that sits on your camera with a screw, it is very strong.
On top of that, now that the adapter is on the camera, you can basically screw on any lens you want as long as it fit the adapter. That's a double WIN for Neewer.
I also got a URIG cage for the Sony ZV1.
In this video I review the new lens, and the cage and explain what happened, and what are my first impressions of the products and how to put them on and use them.
A simple review video which is my own thought and experience - This is not a paid review, and I didn't get any compensation for doing this.

I just got this lens today in the mail. Can't wait to use it 👍🏼 great content !
Thanks! Glad you likes it - let me know if you love the lens as much as I am :)
What a small world! I was just watching Jack Woodhams video! I love the Neewer. I bought it months ago, but haven't been using my ZV-1 as I was getting into doing photography on my Canon M50 MKII & M6 MKII cameras. I will look forward to using my ZV-1 more now though. Thanks for your video.
Yeah, it works great with the Sony zv1 - thanks for watching
@@NirAlony1 You bet! Thank you!
Definitely a good decision, but I want to use my ZV1 naked and small, because I have a big FX6 and I wanted a small cam for holidays 😉 and therefore I love my ZV1 😍
I get that. I use it pretty much only for vlogging so the built in lens of the ZV1 is not wide enough, hence I looked for a wider lens to put on. It does make the camera bigger and less compatible you are right, but for my needs it works great. Thanks for the insight and watching 👍
it's quick disconnect
not like the screw on quick connect cage adds much bulk
looks like you need a SMALLRIG L-Shape Bracket
yes, I figured it out eventually lol and I did a followup video after getting the L shaped one, thanks for commenting
Great video! Have you found a camera cage that'll work with the lens?
Thank you. Haven’t found a cage yet, but the lens is really good I rather go without a cage and just hold the camera in my hand or with the Joby tripod for now
The L cage from small rig works!!! Your welcome!!

@@EjectoSeato333 yeah, I’m going to upload a video about it in the next couple of days
How far away were you from the camera with the wide angle lens on? Thanks!
I would say about arms length, maybe even less as sometimes I lean forward to the camera when I talk. Both the Ulanzi and Neewer are the same in that regard, 18mm it’s perfect for vlogging when you hold the camera and shoot selfie mode or even sitting in front of it - thanks for watching 🙌
@@NirAlony1 thanks for the quick response
the lens make your hair looks weird .. return the lens please
Maybe I just have weird hair lol.
