Awesome idea, thank you for the video! Just one disclaimer. I ended up buying the cargo rack for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler Tj hard top. I built it exactly the same and mounted it up. I loved how it look but FYI when you have a hard top you can no longer open your rear window. The window hits the cargo rack no matter how far you swing the tailgate out. Just a heads up for hard top owners
Cool. Yeah they're just easier to hang. And I use one of those shake syphons to pump the gas straight to the tank. That way I never take the actual cans off of the rack.
How did ypur internal cargo rack turn out. Sounds like an interesting project.... wouldn't mind seeing that.... I was trying to come up with an easy to install/uninstall rack.
Refreshing to see a guy showing others how to make the same thing others are recommending $1000s for when they are getting it free from their sponsors!
Greetings! Am new to your channel and enjoying the videos. I have a ‘99 TJ. I know you no longer have it, but wondering what were the specs on it. My is a 4cyl. Txs a bunch in advance!
I'm heading to Lowes and harbor freight to get the materials. Suggestion where u have the washers to use as shims use 1/2 inch conduit cut to length. Great idea on the diy rack.
Awesome! I am curious how you are liking that Smittybilt bumper/tire carrier setup. I’ve heard from others that they rattle very bad and that’s the main reason I am upgrading. How has your experience been with the tire carrier in particular?
Mine has been great. It's all about how you adjust the tire stops (rubber bumpers on the tailgate). I moved mine where the tire carrier presses against them. Don't have much rattle. There is some I noticed from whenever I use my GoPro on the rear tail light, but I've never heard any rattle while driving.
Hey, I am planning to get a 98 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I need your help to decide if it's a good deal or not. So, please let me know how I can reach out to you. Thanks 😀
Probably near zero. My friend has a similar setup, can't see out the back. He just mounted a rear camera, done deal. You can get them for pretty cheap with a monitor.

Interesting idea.....above the tire. Makes a neater
Carrying system for sure.
Thanks for sharing.
Ingenious...looks great! The cans on either side are an especially great touch.👍
Looks good to me, cant beat a cheap effective set up.
Appreciate it.
Thank you very much, that idea is super smart!
Very beautiful set-up! Great job 👍
Looks good, Boss! Nice set up!
Thanks!! I’ll be doing this soo!
For my 90 i used angles from Lowes for the basket. Yours looks great. Like the Jerry can mounts. I never thought to hang them.

god damn that just looks too good. i need one.
Pretty clever. Can’t beat the price.
Awesome video bro I subscribe.... just bought the rack ... just need the u bolts & the steel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Again awesome video 👍🏻✌🏻
Thanks for sharing this, gave me an idea of how to make an internal cargo rack using the roll bars. Cheers.

Wow man thanks for this, it inspires me to make a rack for mine.
Great idea. I took the Harbor Freight rack and mounted it inside as a shelf.
That's awesome! I thought about doing that. Can you send a pic?

xbpbat21x thanks man! That’s my entire motto for this channel.
Do you remember where you got Jerry cans?
Nice but you should mount the gas can properly and find someone to weld for you.
Really great idea 💡 just what I was looking for a cheap solid alternative
Thanks for sharing! What a great design and fabrication idea. Can't wait to do my '99 TJ. Looking forward to seeing more of your projects. Subscribed!
Thanks so much man!
Hey what tire carrier do you have?
What brand of bumper/tire carrier were you running with this build?

Great idea. Thanks!
I’m in the process of something similar. How much weight have you loaded on yours? Any issues?
How did you hang your cans from the rack?
What kind of rear bumper / tire carrier do you have? I love the look of it!
I’d also like to know please what bumper and carrier? Tks
What tire carrier and bumper combo are you sporting?
I know this is pretty late but I believe is is the smittybilt src carrier and bumper.
nice. i will be doing this!
Wary Tenpoint right on!
Where did you pick up the tan jerry cans ?
Did you have the third brake light and wires just completely removed? Trying to decide what to do with mine.
Never had a third brake light.
Nice DIY, what are the measurements of the rack?
Cool setup I'm still really interested to see how you did the table on your tailgate
Jacob Shields same bro hopefully he makes a vid
Soon!
That is awesome ingenuity
That’s awesome!!! Curious.... how do you find the extra weight when climbing ? Do you notice it or have to adjust? Thank you!
Didn't notice it at all!

Thanks 😀
It's a good deal :)
I know this has nothing to do with the vid but what are the fenders
They're stock fenders.
Is this a stock tj color?
Nope, it has been repainted. It is available on the JK's. Its commando green.
😎👌
Looks like I have to buy a tire carrier..😧..just Glad don't have to buy a welding machine.
What kind of rear bumper / tire carrier do you have? Been trying to look for ways to mount extra fuel.
How's the rear view vision?
Probably near zero. My friend has a similar setup, can't see out the back. He just mounted a rear camera, done deal. You can get them for pretty cheap with a monitor.
I have the same tire carrier and it was zero vision out the back without this rack
Result.
Is it me or are you trying to feed on the popularity of IAMJAKE? You match his Jeep and now his cargo rack.
Nah, just doin my own thing!
That stuff will break
