This is the most fundamental survivors guide ever for wrangler exploration. I wish I could hug you guys for this tranquil and peaceful video, and for all you may have sacrificed, (in this society probably not much compared to what I could just imagine, an experience like this could catapult a soul to great heights, but it appears that you two may have already been in great heights spiritually before your journey even began). Thank you.

Love this build! Building a TJ myself from the ground up, had to order a new chassis from California to Boston. Maybe when I come back from deployment we can cross paths in the TJs. Keep up the great content!

Currie Antirock Swaybar is definitely a worthwhile upgrade. I had JKS quick disconnects for awhile and I dont miss them at all! Love your TJ. These are never ending projects! I also use the Adams driveline on my 2000 TJ.
Totally agree, its always a project. 😂 Anitrock swayers are definitely on the list for an upgrade.
@@CBOverland you will get a lot more swaying on the road with the Currie antirock. I don't know if I would do it with rig that has stuff loaded on the roof.
Head towards New England and I'll show you some trees, lots of trees. Some of them are next to lakes and rivers though 🤷. The part where you turned your door into a shelf is super macguyver and I respect the ingenuity

One mod to the pump sprayer I’ve seen elsewhere, is to mount a kitchen sink sprayer to the end of the hose. Works good for showers and miscellaneous cleanup. Great rig!

Love your channel--I'm building my 2003 Jeep TJ Rubicon I've owned for 20 years now into an overlander and using your channel for ideas. My biggest concerns beyond space is weight. I'm already at 4300lbs without anything in the Jeep other then 100lbs of backseat, stereo box/subs, amps etc..., (which is coming out). This is without me or a hardtop. Add those and I'm nearly at my 4600lb GVWR without any equipment. Add a small slide out nomad cv kitchen, hardtop rack, iKamper mini, batwing compact awning, small 25L dometic fridge with slide, Ecoflow 20lb generator, diesel heater, coleman hot water shower, 3x dometic 3 gal water jugs, one 3.8 gal waterport, + food, clothes, pots, pans...etc. You get the picture--LOL. I will likely be 500-750lbs over factory GVWR, however..., a lot of that is unsprung weight with 35-inch tires, rims, Dana 44 axles, brakes. Also, I have a RC heavy duty 4-inch lift with heavy duty control arms, track bars, shocks so I know my Jeep can operate with additional weight. Anyway, looking at your TJ videos with everything, it seems like it is excessively heavy. How heavy is your jeep with a full load, you, your wife and 2x hounds....,and how does it ride? primary on-road in acceleration and at speed. Interesting to know as a baseline.

Beautiful TJ! We're buying our first now after a lifetime of owning Landrover series and a Defender, Ranger, Mazda, Suzuki Jimny, curentl a Mahindra Pikup S6 Karoo 4x4 ( fantastic value and amazing off road!) But seriously excited about the tj! It's a very well kept Sahara 4.0l in line straight six.
Thank you! Welcome to the Jeep Family! The TJ is a fun platform to explore. I had the pleasure of driving a friends’ Defender 90 RHD all over the backroads/trails of southern Nevada and it was a blast! Sure wasn’t quick by any means but it handled the trails like a billy goat! 🤣

May I suggest you use split latchpins in the latches? Cheap, eternally reusable and easy.
Reusable zipties are also a solution

Ahh! Been waiting for this. Love this build. Sucks to hear all the stuff you guys had to replace when the front axle grenaded, but it’s good to see the fox back so it’s former glory.
Do you guys ever miss having the trailer to keep supplies, tent, and stuff?
Yeah, we miss the trailer everyday.It was nice to be able to separate the jeep from the sleeping. We have been talking about a chuck wagon (kitchen) for the future for outings to be able to sustain for longer periods of time. We recently just upgraded the Fox to a Roof Top Tent, and its been great to get off the ground again.
How did you find such an amazing companion to share your adventures?
Your build is well thought out and I really like descriptions of the goods and bads of your builds!

We have loved the raw adventure out of The Fox. Although, the size is too small 😂 If I could have chosen anything else, it would have been an LJ, but we wouldn't have gotten the motor benefits we did out of our TJ. Thanks for watching.
Here's a fun story.... I've had a 97 TJ since day one and a solid decade later I had a mild vibration on the highway for at most 3 days before I hit the on ramp one day and as soon as I hit 70 had an absurd amount of vibration that shattered my entire transfer case before I could even slow down. Front driveshaft pilot bearing that only cost $50 had I payed attention to that mild vibration 3 days earlier🤦

How are those Milestar Patagonia mud terrains holding up for you?
Question for you: here in a few months I’ll be driving out from Oklahoma to the pacific north west for fire season. Taking my 98 TJ 4.0 5 speed. It’s basically stock besides wheels, tires, lift, front bumper/winch. Won’t be doing crazy overlanding or anything, but I’m trying to properly plan my load out. I’ll be living in a camp for however long, then just moving to the next camp. Any tips for storage that you have figured out? I have a soft top but no A/C so expect to have the top down pending weather. I don’t want to use a rack just for the ease of using the top. But I need to be able to pack quickly. I’ll be removing the rear seat so I’m thinking a weather proof container in the rear. I know this is a little different than how y’all travel but any tips you’ve learned are appreciated.

Hey! That sounds like an awesome trip! We’ve adventured with a similar set up a few years ago. Couple things, separate sealed storage boxes. We just started using South African ammo boxes, vs the Rubbermaid bin we have in the video. We picked them up at sportsman’s warehouse. Bonus, they are 1/2 the width of the tj tub, and interlocking stackable. Great size to separate gear and play Tetris in the TJ. 2nd thing, we use iOverlander to find camp spots but we don’t typically stay in the marked sites. Usually if you go a little further past the marked spots there will be additional spots and with a capable rig why not? 🤣 3rd and probably most important, gearing. If you haven’t regeared your axles for the tire size and additional weight of gear, do it. We run 4:56 gears with 35” tires but 4.88’s would perform much better. Power, fuel economy, and drivability will all benefit from appropriate gearing. All the grades and mountain passes in your future, the 4.0 and ax 15 trans Will thank you. All in all, enjoy the trip, take your time and soak it all in. Who knows, maybe we’ll see ya down the road in the PNW this summer. 🤝🤘

thanks! Yes, we do.. was just in a hibernation. We have been spending the last few months getting the rig back up and running. This week we are replacing the transmission...should be back on the road soon.
With all the stuff you have in that rigg..I'm surprised you don't have the tailgate cargo basket...is there a reason why you don't want them?..

yeah, it's an ARB 50. We bought it used almost two years ago, and its been running ever since.
