      I have a similar albeit older micro amplifier for small headphones Jojo Super Lead. I got it as a gift from a late friend (corona) and I know how to play with it sometimes or connect it with the headphone output to the processor and then to the amplifier, etc. Yes, it's fun, and the most important thing is to sit on the rocks of the breakwater and play in honor of my friend with the wind and sound of waves. Yes, a fun little thing. Thank you Gordan❤

    I got my Mighty Plug a couple of years ago and convinced a few of my musician friends to grab one. I'm glad you guys are finally "seeing the light" on this terrific little contraption. This is quite possibly the best money I've spent on guitar gear...dollar for dollar/pound for pound. Also...the MP2 does indeed have a drum machine built in, not just the metronome.
    Honestly...this is the singular best headphone practice rig, hands down. I wish I had one of these a long time ago when I was dropping alot of money on effects and stuff. And the best thing for the MP2 was when NUX updated the firmware and increased the functionality of the unit (it was limited to only 4 presets when I got my Mighty Plug) and increased the number of available presets. And the bluetooth app is fantastic for setting/saving your tones, just make sure location data is activated for the app on your phone or it won't connect properly.
    For all those folks "late to the party" on the NUX Mighty Plug...stop waiting and get one.

    This thing is really rich with features, and probably one of the most useful guitar "toys" out there. You can use it as an interface, as a bluetooth thingy, you can even set it up to pair it with your phone and live stream with it, and for video calls so it's really great for online teachers/ courses

  • @christopherkahn6522
    @christopherkahn6522 11 месяцев назад +4

    Yeah, these things are great. It does it all and should be product of the year. Sounds just like a fifties Fender Bassman, sixties Fender Super Reverb, seventies Plexi Marshall, eighties JCM Marshall, nineties Mesa Boogie, and many more, live or recorded, with any effects you want in any order you want, connects with a tablet using Bluetooth and streams audio from the tablet to the NUX Mighty Plug headphone out. It is also perfect for recording into the computer since it is also a high quality audio interface with no latency. This is all you need. It seems like the modern version of a Rockman, which was similarly, super high quality when it first came out in 1982. My favorite combinations are playing a Fender Stratocaster through the Super Reverb model, a Gibson SG straight through the Plexi Marshall model, and a Gibson Les Paul with effects through the JCM Marshall.😮

    A few things worth mentioning:
    - At least the Pro version has a tuner
    - You can stream music from any app (Spotify etc.) from your phone via BT or from computer via BT or USB
    - The Main point of having backing tracks on the device is that you can add timestamps where the preset changes automatically
    - The Pro has stereo effects (not sure about the non-Pro)
    - The USB can be set to "Dry out" for clean recording (along with Reamp or Loopback routing)
    - Presets can be shared via QR codes
    - While the MightyAmp app is great, there's a third party -created Mightier App which has a ton of extra features (like more preset slots, you can switch presets with BT pedals etc)
    - For me, using a headset connected with TRRS cable has worked great (in Zoom, Teams etc)
    ...and yes, I'm biased as I had the non-Pro originally and bought the Pro literally on day one it became available (mostly for the headset/mic functionality) 😅

      Hi, just wanted to know your opinion.
      Do you think that mighty plug pro is enough to be the only amplification device for a bedroom guitarist?
      Have you found a way to loop it?
      Did you encounter the buzzing issue?

    • @lehik
      @lehik 6 месяцев назад

      @@kritsharma2933 probably not if you are looking for similar experience to playing with an amp in the room, but otherwise it could very well be enough. You can use it with either headphones or an active speaker. Of course it doesn't give you super convenient ways of changing the effects (like a stomp mode), but as said, you can switch between presets with a BT pedal/selector.
      I've tried looping with an app on my phone and it seemed to work pretty much ok. Also, it might be possible to take the audio from the 3.5mm headphone connector and route that to a looper pedal and output the audio from the pedal to your headphones/speaker.
      I haven't had any buzzing issues with the device.

    Thanks for finally reviewing these small technological wonders! I got my NUX Mighty Plug Pro (MP3) one year ago (dec. 2022) and I've been practising and recording a lot of guitar through this little box to my DAW on my laptop running macOS. Being on a budget for music gear, it allowed me to start again enjoying to play my electric guitar and record song ideas. I definitely recommend these super compact "headphone amps" for which I bought a double-sided female jack plug to be able to have more cable length from my guitar and plug them into actual amps at the rehearsing room when jamming with other musicians to use the built-in effects rack (controllable from both the iOS app on my iPhone and from the macOS Might Editor app - I guess they also have equivalent apps for Android and Windows). All effect presets are customisable and can be saved into one of the 7 presets. You can export your presets to an external memory / computer to reload them later via the included USB cable. So just press on the bigger round button on the NUX Mighty Plug to change your preset. I am in love with this little box!

    I've had the cheaper one for a few years now and they're great! It's slightly less convenient to have to use your phone to create presets etc instead of buttons like the fender version, but it's SO nice to have full EQ control instead of EQ presets on the fender and hoping their preset EQ works for your guitar/headphones/genre. Headphone amps can sound dramatically different on different headphones, so it's much better to have full control imo.

    It's amazing to me what we have now- all of that inside that tiny little box that just plugs directly into your guitar. My whole life it's been lugging around huge amps, that costed a small fortune, and tore up left and right- this is so much better. And we're almost there on the quality of the tones as well- you have to listen super close to hear any difference at this point. That is- if you're using the right IRs. Imo- if you use a modeler, do yourself a huge favor and learn all about IRS and how to use them- they make such a huge difference it's unreal. Discovering York IRs is what made me decide to keep using a modeler- I was about to scrap the idea and go back to my tube amps. But these IRs make the MX5 sound so good it's nuts to think a piece of software could make that kind of a difference.

    Nice! Those sound good. A long time ago I used one of those type amps on an actual track, it didn't sound too bad. I was broke then, after all I'm a musician. 😒

    Great video. Couldn't find if anyone else asked the question, but would it be a good idea to plug it in to the output of your pedabold? That way you can your your own effects. Thanks!!!

    Is this only Bluetooth compatible,or into headphones chordless. No I'm not that incoherent,but having trouble loading the video and still not sure. I love my mighty plug pro - observations on using it - you don’t have to plug it into your guitar, I plug it into my drive/fuzz pedals, and use it as a really simple and versatile recording interface.
    I found the headphone output on mine to produce a worse quality output than using USB and recording through it. It’s incredible value for money nonetheless.

    • @pwlebrun4573
      @pwlebrun4573 11 месяцев назад

      So do I understand you correctly, your signal chain is: guitar -> inst cable -> pedalboard -> Mighty Plug Pro -> USB cable -> DAW?

    • @VesiustheBoneCruncher
      @VesiustheBoneCruncher 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@pwlebrun4573 yes, that is one way of doing it. In general I find I can get really great emulations of time based effects, delay, chorus, reverb in the DAW. But I find that there is much less quality variety with drive and distortion stuff. For example, a lot of software will have something like a big muff, but have you ever seen a soviet or opamp variant in software?
      My exact set up is to use the preamp in the mighty plug, and disable the power amp/cab onwards, then I can apply whatever I like in the DAW before my cabinet emulation, creating what in the guitar world would be an effects loop.
      You can loop the signal straight back out of the headphone socket on the mighty plug and listen through headphones, however, listen to a whole mix this way and you’ll quickly find out how bad the headphone amp actually is!

    • @VesiustheBoneCruncher
      @VesiustheBoneCruncher 11 месяцев назад +1

      To clarify, you can’t come back into the signal chain on the mighty amp, you always go through the full chain, but can turn stuff off at will, at the end of the chain send it to the DAW, and then can loop back out from the DAW directly to the headphone socket.

      @@VesiustheBoneCruncher Thanks for the explanations. Yeah, I know very well the lack of good drive plugins (or frankly good drives in multi effect pedals). Modulation selection always seems superior.

    Thanks for the comparison between the 2 models. Seems like a decent number of improvements for only 30 quid difference, could mean the m2 model drops in price accordingly making that one even more affordable for those on the fence. i like how its getting simpler to just plug the guitar into your computer and start recording. still haven't seen any combo tutorials using this and a looper? doable?

    For anyone thinking to get one of these or the Fender mustang micro. I would 100% recommend one of these
    I have the mustang micro and its fantastic, but I've had it for over a year now and the volume wheel is starting to shit itself. So for that reason I can't recommend it. Also these Nux ones have so many more features that you want to have and after owning the Fender for a while, I really want to customise some amps and effects, but cannot.. The sounds get very boring and you will end up using only 1-3 amps and 1-3 effects mostly because you cannot customise anything. Sure you can a little with the buttons, but only one parameter. However I still use it alot for the fender clean tones when practicing around others with headphones or even a small portable speaker
    The only reason to get the Fender is for its clean tones, but I'm sure that these can come close with how customisable they're.
    As a gift for a child or someone that doesn't know or care for technology then the fender is great, it comes with a card and everything is colour coded, but for everyone else then the Nux is superior in every way imo.
    Seriously, if you want the Fender one so much, then get the Nux and put a Fender sticker on it
