Believe me, they were huge in Korea back then, around 2011-2014. Their fandom was the 3rd biggest fandom in Korea. They built Cube Ent from the start and made Cube success since more than 50% Cube's earning was from them. Really, they brought a miracle for such a small company to be considered the big 4. Their songs is always trending in Korea and really well known for general public. You should react to Fiction, Shock, Breath, Beautiful Night, Goodluck, 12.30, Ribbon, On Rainy Days. Thank you! it makes me happy when more people get to listen to Highlight. I've been following them since 2009 when they debuted as Beast. They were originally 6 from a small company, labeled as a recycled group (most of the members were from diff labels/supposed to debut with other groups). They gradually made themselves known for their songs (ex-bf songs 🤣) and live performances (as to which i'm really proud of). Things happened, now they're down to 4 members, with their own company and a new name - Highlight. Glad you like "Not The End", it's their comeback single after their military enlistment + without their rapper and producer - Junhyung. There's a noticable change with their sound from his absence, but I'm really proud that even after everything that has happened - we're still being blessed with good songs and amazing performances. As like you said, they are consistent! They're a vocal powerhouse too - Yoseob is one of the best idol vocalists out there. And the rest of the guys has a unique vocal quality i just cant get tired of listening to. Glad you mentioned seventeen because svt actually reminds me of them, both amazing live! (Both crackheads too 🤣) If you have time, you can check out some of their popular tracks from their beast days - On Rainy Days, Fiction, 12:30, Shock, Breath, Shadow, Beautiful Night... for beast!!! i'll def say under BEAST they had more of a myriad song types. i will say that they were known more as the ballad pop kings at their peak? i'd def reccomend: shock, breath (soom), fiction, beautiful night, 12:30, good luck, ribbon!!!! also gikwang (which was the one you kept eyeballing), yoseob, dujun & dongwoon all have solos. ALSO under highlight they have the song: calling you.

Omg this is absolutely wonderful. Thank you for giving them a listen;) They were such an amazing grp. One of the best, well acknowledged and popular boy grp in their era. And has since come a really long way to be where they are now. Though it's very unfortunate they couldn't remain as a whole, but their discography then and now are incredibly amazing for you to give them a try. The amount of comfort the music of this group has given me. I have still not listened to a single song of theirs that I do not like. They produce their own songs and their bsides are wild as well. Gikwang...the stunning guy...he has two solo albums that go so damn hard omg, I am absolutely obsessed with his voice. Loved is one of my fave songs ever solely cuz of that violin or whatever is going on in that chorus, It literally speaks to me as if I can understand its language. And I am mainly an exol, shawol, reveluv, nctzen, deobi and orbit but I rarely read their lyrics in 95% of their songs I do not know what they are on about. But when it comes to beast/highlight I know all what they are saying, the lyrics are JUST as comforting as the sounds are. Bless them, they know what they are doing. Daydream was written by a songwriter but it definitely captures their sound well. Their choreos are not super in your face because they always insist on singing live (do watch their comeback stages) so they need to be able to actually sing the song. I'd recommend checking out these two recent solo songs as well as they tie up with their universe. Yang Yoseop (main vocal) - Brain Yoon Dujun (leader) - Lonely Night Lee Gikwang (main dancer) has 5 solo songs: What You Like (2017), Don't Close Your Eyes (2019), Lonely (2019), Nothing (2019) and his debut before BEAST called Dancing Shoes under the stage name AJ (2009). btw since you seem to b a bit of a fan of gikwang, i'd reccomend looking into his solos, notably: what you like, nothing, don't close your eyes, & lonely- yoseob went down in kpop history for his solo caffeine too! & brain was kind of a bop. beast/highlight aren't too popular internationally, but domestically they had a ton of love for fiction and then on.
Beast/Highlight discography is amazing, It's kinda' hard to choose a favorite among their songs because they always comeback with very good albums. I will suggest you watch HIGHLIGHT's killing voice, they sang a compilation of some of their hit songs from 2009 debut song to their last album title track "Not the End".
Been a fan since they debuted as Beast. Doo-joon (the 1st to sing in Daydream) has been a fav bias of mine since like forever. Not The End was one of my fav songs of 2021 and I really love Daydream. I recommend some of their Beast stuff like the iconic Fiction and my personal favs Soom and Good Luck.

I highly recommend their b-sides, a lot of R&B, Ballads and Acoustics. I love their discography. As for fun/upbeat, I recommend their Japanese albums, they are so much fun! btw since you seem to b a bit of a fan of gikwang, i'd reccomend looking into his solos, notably: what you like, nothing, don't close your eyes, & lonely- yoseob went down in kpop history for his solo caffeine too! & brain was kind of a bop.
beast/highlight aren't too popular internationally, but domestically they had a ton of love for fiction and then on.

Beast/Highlight discography is amazing, It's kinda' hard to choose a favorite among their songs because they always comeback with very good albums. I will suggest you watch HIGHLIGHT's killing voice, they sang a compilation of some of their hit songs from 2009 debut song to their last album title track "Not the End".
Been a fan since they debuted as Beast. Doo-joon (the 1st to sing in Daydream) has been a fav bias of mine since like forever. Not The End was one of my fav songs of 2021 and I really love Daydream. I recommend some of their Beast stuff like the iconic Fiction and my personal favs Soom and Good Luck.

I highly recommend their b-sides, a lot of R&B, Ballads and Acoustics. I love their discography.
