If that draper head is really toast, make a 45' snow pusher out of it using the parts. Good winter project. You could add spikes at an angle backwards to help minimize the push back from the snow.
I think this is a first for plowing snow with a Bean Head and combine. I must say it was very creative. Enjoyed the footage of the small Black dog trying to get through the high snow.
We had a guy come late at night with a combine snow blower when I was a kid and we were snowed in. He had to come real late because it took up both lanes of the highway (shoulders too deep & drifted too). One pass & he was done. It threw snow easily 30 ft or more.
@@joshuawheaton622 There was a study done that small bales were more expensive per pound/ton than large bales. Recently a small bale was 237, Large bale was 218 and large round 154 per ton. It was found that the time and energy to take a large round down to multiple small bales was cheaper than buying small bales.
Big snow blower on one of your MFD Deere's with the IVT transmissions....its the cats meow for moving snow. We've been using a IVT for 10 years on the blower, they will set there own ground speed automatically by how hard the snow blower pulls the engine down...
I saw this on RUclips immediately had to share with you check out Fair manufacturing 1400 and 1600 rakes AWESOME idea keep up the hard work love your videos
Steffen systems makes bale conversion machines that can reduce your power requirements to one engine and manpower to one person. My brother has a system in a building that’s been going for over 20 years. Less loss then a re bale set up.
@@FarmingInsider yes definitely a large investment. Like you said, the smaller bales brings more money but the larger bales allows you to bale and put away a large amount during the hay making season. He sells his hay by the ton, since with the bale conversion the bales end up very heavy. It’s amazing watching the power of hydraulics push bales through a 1” piece of metal with a sharp edge and cut.
I don't have any extensive experience in your industry but have often wondered why you don't fabricate large snow pushers. They make them for the pickup trucks and other loaders so why not fabricate one for your machine? If I were to fabricate one I would put some hydraulics on the ends to be able to expand or collapse the full width...
Don't be a fool, put a ring on that gorgeous lady! Love your videos.
Thanks Charles!!

That's Luis! He is not a big fan of the snow
Nice video
Thank you!
The main thought that came to my mind was that must of been a $100,000 loss when the head got totaled!

I would love to see that!
That's funny your dad looked like a kid in a candy store big Ole smile on his face .
He did! Anything to fire up the old combine
Good old OHIO ingenuity!!!! I love !! 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hahah we have to use our heads around here to get by
I'm con fused by that setup in the barn. Looks like you're taking bundles and making new bundles!
I should have gotten a little closer. It’s taking big squares and making bundles of small squares
Just outta curiosity why not just use the small baler to bail then? Wouldn't it be more efficient to just bale however many small bales you need?

America at it's best moving forward due to the ingenuity of the farmers Job well done Two thumbs up for getting snowed in at your girls house!!
lol thank you! We are always trying to approach situations rationally
many videos of adapting a snow blower
head to the combine and you can pick up 9 footers cheap use narrower tires and you are good to go
I’ll check them out!
It's as simple as that nice good job
Thank you my man!
Great video 🚜🚜❄☃👍👍👍😎
Thank you!
That was hilarious. I'll bring the popcorn and watch you guys try to plow a Wendy's drive thru with that lol

That sounds MINT. How wide is the blower?
102'' on 7930
Hahaha cool video. Almost 20k subs. Congrats
Thanks! We are excited!
Good video. What do you think a small square bale of top quality, second cut, orchard grass is worth?
That’s will vary exceptionally by region for sure but if it’s really top quality $9-10
I saw this on RUclips immediately had to share with you check out Fair manufacturing 1400 and 1600 rakes AWESOME idea keep up the hard work love your videos
I will check it out! Thank you!
I am thinking back in the 60's ( I could be wrong on the decade) one of the combine manufactures had a snowblower attachment for their combine.
Maybe that's back when the hour weren't as expensive lol
New Idea Uni-System made a snow blower attachment to fit it.
What kind of yellow conveyor is the one feeding the baler on the rebaler system? Are they available to buy anywhere?
Teez EZ Unroller out of Georgia

Look up Teez Ez Unroller. They are out of Georgia
Hope the S690 has rear wheel assist. 45 ft is a lot of snow to push.
Hahah sticking one in the snow would really be a cool video
What are you going to be doing with this head, I'd be interested in buying it off you
We believe it is spoken for l
A forage harvester could work?
Hmmm… maybe next big snow?

I agree. They are just 600k haha

A lot of fluff in this video, and I didn't see the combine actually pushing snow.
Afraid Clarkson beat to it though he attached a flame thrower as well I believe
It’s tough competing with that guy lol
This didnt even show any plowing with the combine..?
It did!
You guys can keep the snow. Were in the NW corner of ohio have no snow but about 18 inches of frost in ground. hard as a rock.
It hasn’t been fun at all. Build up on all the barn doors trying to get into hay and and such has been frustrating
hello from medina ohio how are u guys?
We are living it up! Just trying to stay warm
I saw your new Dji smart controller did you get the new Dji magic 3!
Yes! It's amazing. 30 minute flight time in the blistering cold

There are snow plows that work that way. Western wide out is an example.
🇨🇦
Better remake the BeastBine from TopGear
We’ll get right to it lol
You didn't combine any snow!!
Why not just make small bales in the fields? Seems like a waste of time to handle it twice
Weather windows are a big limiting factor. The big square baler can do the equivalent of about 5 small square balers with 1/5 of the people needed
Cool dad lol
Where can I find your contact info?
Miller farms custom llc on Facebook is a good way
Leave the bucket in the shed and get a blade that swivels and be a real snow plow operator
Yeah… you’re right we could use one
RUclips cooper ranchin
Buy a snowblower ..
I'm live in Ohio and I didn't get that much snow
Big state!
@@FarmingInsider yep hay I got a ton of snow up hear did you get a lot? Now I wish I got a combine now
Dude, you never actually plowed any snow with it. Click bait.
Lol yes we did!
