    There's a new Coda starting in September with a #1.
    That's disappointing to hear about not having all the extras though.

    Omar kept talking about this book so I jumped online and got issue 1. I’m a trade waiter and could not wait for this. Just finished it and it delivered. I have a new artist and writer to look out for as this was my first comic for both. Thank you Omar this is Top 15 storey of all time for me.

    Never read it but just bought the deluxe edition and vol 1 of the paperback (for the maps), I find myself buying more and more Boom studios books

    Shouldn’t a deluxe HC have MORE extras than the TPBs? 🤨

      BOOM has some good books but their deluxe editions can be hit or miss with what they contain. 🫤

    Don't forget Si Spurrier started with 2000AD writing awesome stories like Judge Dredd, Bec & Kawl and Lobster Random. So looking forward to reading CODA 😎

    I can understand not including alternative cover art, sketches etc but not including the maps of a high fantasy series is completely unacceptable. Are you reading this Boom? Thanks for sharing Omar.

    One of my favorite stories, I love the work of Spurrier and Bergara.
    Unpopular opinion: Bergara should re-draw Spurrier’s ”The Spire”.

    I will probably give it the three issue rule(that's my stance for any new comic). The book looks gorgeous and the artwork is amazing. But if you're really saying this story takes its time then I'll give it three issues. Great work as always, Omar.

      It depends on what you're looking for in those three issues. Sometimes a sense of satisfaction with a story can mean different things depending on the type of story

  • @ChristopherLono
    @ChristopherLono Год назад

    When a TPB has more stuff than a premium edition I really wish for some consistency with different books. Universaly used dimensions guided by market rules that they need to follow:
    A) TPBs should be just a collection of 4-16 issues (every comic book gets this treatment). Annotated TPB is a special b&w ed.
    B) HCs would be exactly the same with 4-16 issues in a hardcover (nominal price increase). Artist HC is a special b&w ed.
    C) Then there is the DLX version that has 4-16 issues in oversized format with a dust jacket and includes variant covers, design sketches, promo pin-ups. Reserved only for the most popular of series.
    Omnibus is just a deluxe collection of 17-50 issues without additional content.
    Compendium would be identical i.e. 17-50 issues (max 1300 pages long) but cheaper without any extras and in the standard softcover format.
    Largest slipcase editions that are available in limited quantity would be the Absolute/Library/Masterwork (min 300 pages) and have fresh bonus material inside with production scripts, commentary, interviews etc. 1990-2010 period of wild west for publishers has ended a long time ago and it would be nice if they fit on the shelves and weren't as confusing as those monthly floopies.

    Love this book, but man the book design is lacking. No table of content... no extras? Disappoint, loved the story and the fantastic tale.

  • @ReaperXC
    @ReaperXC Год назад +1

    There's probably no blurb on it because there's been the solicits, single issues and the trades for promotion which most people would buy and then an oversized expensive hardcover are for the die-hards or for those who only collect that format. Not many people will pick this hard cover up on a whim. They'll watch your video, listen to an interview or BING search the book to get an idea before buying.
