You can ignore the fact that this is designed for winter sports because it will be the ideal pack for many other activities and for general use. It is an ideal camera pack for outdoor photography assignments, especially if used in conjunction with something like the f-stop camera inserts. I have one of these packs. I use it not only when I go on a shoot but as a general bag for hikes and light travel. The three main things I was personally looking for were: a supremely comfortable wast strap, an all around zip for ease of organisation of kit, and for it to perfectly fit my back. This pack met all my main criteria and much more besides. An added bonus for me is that the front has straps designed to hold skies or snowboard but for me they have sometimes been used to carry an extra 20 litre bag of gear. One of my all time favourite backpacks. For street security the zip to the main compartment can't be accessed while it is being worn (my wife with a different pack had it opened on the street and valuables removed in Bulgaria). The kamber 32 is designed to be swung around to the front of you with the waist strap still fastened and then the main compartment accessed without placing the backpack on the ground. One of the best packs I have owned in the last 50 years.

Great, but why don't any of these videos open the bags? It is critical to see the space inside. All this is very nice but can be useless if the space inside is miserable.

Would you be able to stow the helmet while carrying a snowboard?

About to move to Queenstown, NZ. I hike and snowboard. I like the look of this one but also like the Manta AG 36. I currently have a 30L Osprey bag that I use for day to day things (riding motor bike, going to the shops, day hikes, etc). This one has lasted me 5 years and needs to be replaced. Would you suggest this pack or the Manta?

The Kamber is definitely full of ski & snowboard specific features. If you'll be frequently earning your turns (hiking with snowboard strapped to your pack), then the Kamber is a great choice. But if you are looking for a pack with more overall uses, I think you'll prefer the Manta. Feel free to contact our Gear Specialists directly, sometimes we can help answer more specific questions over the phone or email:

There are two straps on the front of the pack that can be used to attach a pair of skis

Hi David thanks for the comment. The Osprey Kamber 32 utilizes a dual carry system for skis. The first method uses the side location in an up and down fashion with specific reinforced areas to protect from the edges and the proper clips. You can also store your skis in a crisscross fashion in the snowboard holding area with the appropriate closures. Thanks for the interest today.

Still not a match for what Mammut makes. Like the zipper could be easily relocated in a more convenient spot that doesn't need to unbuckle the suspension straps. Poorly designed.
