That was a real "wow" moment when you mounted all that artwork on your display furniture! You showed amazing preparedness and professionalism, especially for your first time! We know a lot of artists who plan their summer and fall around shows like this. Thanks for sharing your experience!
I want to thank you for being so transparent about your money. I know it's a squicky thing to talk about, but I think it's so important for artists to better understand what goes on when you sell art!!
Oh my goodness! I wish I was there! I sold my art fir the first time a few months ago and made around 180 dollars which shocked me. (I also spent no money on supplies since I already had them all, so I didn’t lose any money, and I sold only originals. I also made ten sales!) Especially since I was (am) a young artist who only started drawing a few months ago. It felt so rewarding when people would ask for my business cards (which I didn’t have, lol) or when people were trying to get me to do commissions. My favorite part is when I would have other artist come up and ask me how I did it. This video is so much fun! Thank you!
Hi! Do you have an Instagram? I'd love to see your art if you share it somewhere!
@@clownfern sadly I don’t have an insta, but my sketchbook is about full so I plan to put a sketchbook tour on my RUclips channel soon, so keep your eyes open for that!
I never realised quite how much you need to buy for a market! I always thought they provided the table and stuff so this is quite eye opening haha 😂 Congratulations on your first market too 🎉
Maybe split the displays and have them on either corner of the table so you can stand in the center! It will also increase your visibility to reduce people trying to steal small things like stickers and such 😊
I have no following and I did a pop up market (within a store), recently, and while I sold quite a bit, it was so nice to meet people! For me it felt good trying it out without investing too much first. Lol (I borrowed baskets from friends)😂❤
Your art is breathtaking to look at with so many unique details!!!✨😭
One artist to another. Pls use pen or paint on your prints. My daughter had her work stolen and used by another party. Because she signed in pencil. Super hard to prove. Now I’m going to sit and watch your upload. Love your work.
so insightful and exciting to hear your experience al!! also a night market sounds great in Florida, especially with summer heat quickly approaching ;-; (also love your earrings!!)
Congratulations on your first market! 👏🏾 🥳🪅🎊
This video was so exciting to watch!! Your joy throughout the process was palpable, and there's something so nice about seeing all of your art on display. Art markets are definitely a gamble, but I'm glad you got the experience!
Omg the bird stickers are so cute!! So glad your first market was a success!
I love how you share your experienced with the whole process in going into an outside artist market! The price, the time, effort, emotions and that can do entrepreneur spirit! Thank you for sharing what really goes into putting your art and self into this endeavor🙏
Congratulations Al!! I started doing shows this season in the Orlando area. It was a very crazy and exciting experience. It’s such a relief to get the first one down. You’ll be a pro next time!!!
This video was really inspiring! If everything works out, hopefully I will be doing my first art market this year , so this was super helpful!💖
This is the first time I am first I am so excited!!!♥
Low key loving this for wedding fayre inspiration! Well done Al, and thank you for sharing your process, so helpful 👏 🥰
Great review. So thorough and fantastic attitude and attention to detail. I'm definitely saving this video as markets are something I plan to try in the future. Realistic and such great info
This was so so helpful!! Thank you
Great information. Thanks for being so thorough, informative and open about everything ! This will be very helpful when I'm ready to do my first show.
I wanted to come down from Georgia for this SO BAD! I’m hoping I can come if you do another one! I would have gone broke buying from you. 😂

Oh my gosh this was so helpful and thorough!
Thank you for remembering me omg 🥹🥹 AND THAT ORIGINAL PRINT IS MY FAVORITE BUY
Great video!
Thank you for all of the info. it was super helpful and covered bits I wouldnt think about for the first time (e.g. weight of items, wind, grids, baskets..) its really got me inspired to start collecting bits for my first one and seeing whats around here too!
Greetings from Barcelona :)
I have been waaitiiinnggg😅 omg finally 🎉
You are very brave for doing the market! Congratulations!! 😊
Wow, very impressive! Thank you for sharing your experience. This will be very helpful in the future.
I wonder what the profit was if you only included the cost of the items you sold. It might be a more accurate number for your viewers who want to know if it’s worth it since you can still sell the unsold stock and probably shouldn’t count the cost of it for this event. Does that make sense?
i luvv this
Congrats 🎉
Congrats on your market, everything looks really cool! Side-note: will the enamel pins be on your shop?
Stick with it. So much money can be made at markets. My first market I only made 200. Now I consistently make over 1,000. I think you had the right idea about doing a L shape. Changing my layout to a Z shape has really made a huge difference. I really had to practice a few different set ups. Unfortunately you never really know how the flow of traffic will go at any event so having options is really key. Originally I focused on how the booth “presented” like “Pinterest worthy” the more I focused on accessibility and flow the more sales I made.
This actually really motivated me to sell my art
Congrats on your first art market! I'm glad you had a good time! Also weird question, how did you track which venmo payment went to which purchase? I've been thinking of doing a market or 2, and I've seen people do this but when I wonder how to track it all it gives me an unreasonable amount of anxiety lol.
If I wasn’t all the way in western canada, I would have come to buy your art 😫
Mmmm... no on adding other artist stuff even if a relative. But the art and the set up is awesome. Thanks for documenting your adventure
markets around here can be tricky. def need to research the target audience since it ranges from people just wanting to get crafts for cheap, to farmers/pet owners wanting animal art with a few abstract wanting people thrown in. the best markets are the xmas markets, but no guarantee you will make money since a lot of people are looking for cheap presents. i would love to do a market/fair but the start up costs are just too much
Awesome
Thanks for sharing! Can I ask what dimensions your table is and where you got your table cloth?
I think if you did like comic cons or stuff like that it might help
can you share the links to the stuff you got for your booth
Where did your QR code lead to?
First
