I love these reviews, thoughtful, respectful, well formulated critique of one of my favourite authors. Looking forward to your takes of all the discworld novels! Sir Terry is, in my humble opinion, not only one of the best (almost) contemporary authors and writing comedians, but also has his place among the great humanistic thinkers of the last 100 years. When he gets to serious thoughts, it gets dark and deep! And yes I say "is", because we all know in whom's house he resides now and also highly doubt that he'd quit storytelling just because of the inconvenience of beeing dead. And yeah... Discworld isn't continuous, until it is. It's non-canonical, until it is. And it does not have an overarching plot or interactions between the characters of individual books, exept when it does... You'll see ;)
Enjoyed this double bill of reviews. You’ll be happy to know there’s another Rincewind book next along with stronger continuity from here on for the most part.
Mort is probably one of my favourite early entries in the Death miniseries.
Terry Pratchett is great, I'm reading discworld right now (largely out of order) and death is definitely my favorite character

I look forward to reading more, but I'm going to use them as a lifeline as I wade through the nebulous mire of modern literature.
