I understand her though. I'm the same way. I'm just too scared of a huge mess up. As I age, the insecurities get worse. I had no understanding of her or Blanche (Golden Girls) but now I get not having looks.
@@minilea144she didn’t die altering her looks though. She was trying to fix issues with her vocal chords that were stopping her from speaking well, stopping her from working and doing her show. So if anything her addiction to work, not beauty, is what killed her

My gosh, I love her humor so much!!! How I wish I had known her in the past. Never heard of her until now as I'm from Asia. Just searched for her name because she was mentioned in a Roseann Barr interview. Both of them are hilarious. I love them both!
So happy you have discovered her! I was so lucky to see her to perform stand-up live at my college a few years before she died. Incredibly funny and so much energy, a woman in her late 70s running around, doing splits etc.

I saw her in Kmart in New Milford Ct with her ( I assume husband and grandson) she was calm, quiet and didn’t act special when she had to wait in line behind a teenaged autistic kid pitching a fit, I was kind of impressed.
It's called a meltdown, not a fit. Stores are very difficult for people with autism. Maybe she was educated about autism and or has empathy and compassion.

What’s uncanny is that, years later, she did in fact wind up dating an elderly man who died during dinner and she was left with the bill.

My third eye 👁️ tells me that the reason she died during a simple surgery was because her surgeon took a picture of her during surgery and 😢 he didn't watch the monitor for a second and she died

@katyaz5668 Don't let her comedy act fool you. Self-criticism was her schtick, but Joan was very attractive to men...LOTS of men. Many of them very famous. She was gorgeous, hilarious and sexy. And women loved her because she was smart enough to play down her attractiveness un her act.
