- Another TOTP legend that who also passed away too soon. We take a look at some of John Peel's most memorable moments hosting Top of the Pops from 1981-1987. Including a clip from his last appearance on the show in December 1995, and a few rare clips.

I never understood why they put him on TOTP. He always had a light sarcasm on the show. He was an important part if 1970s/80s music.

you've no idea who John Peel is to say that, and what his unique radio programmes meant to a lot of people, played music nobody else did and got tonnes of bands known who would never have been played elsewhere
