I have gotten more into experimental Jazz so maybe I’d like it better nowadays. I do really like Robert Wyatt’s album Rock Bottom though. I think nevertheless it’s an album at least everyone into early 70s progressive music/fusion should listen to at least once. I recommend listening to their first and second album, both of them being much faster paced and having that kind of bizarre accentric vibe a la Hatfield and the North (an album you should definitely listen to if you haven’t before) I’ve listened to a little of rock bottom and really liked it, if you’re a big Robert Wyatt fan I recommend Matching Mole though I feel like you need context with some of Robert Wyatt’s stuff cause he’s just kinda like that lol

Birds of Fire’ opening is more iconic than Inner Mounting Flame, I would say, but great to see the unreal Mahavishnu Orchestra included. I remember hearing the opening of Yes’s, Fragile as a youngster for the first time, and it changing my perception of how music could make you feel.

Birds of Fire’ opening is more iconic than Inner Mounting Flame, I would say, but great to see the unreal Mahavishnu Orchestra included. I remember hearing the opening of Yes’s, Fragile as a youngster for the first time, and it changing my perception of how music could make you feel.

A note on Peter Babriel's third album (usually called "Melt"): the drums there are being played by Phil Collins, who was using the gated reverb effect for the first time that would become far more famous in the song "In The Air Tonight."
Loved your choices but seeing the excellent, underrated Fish Out Of Water and multiple GG albums in there yet no Relayer baffles me! The Gates Of Delirium has the best opening few seconds of any album or piece of music in general IMHO! Any way keep up the great work and have a great weekend!

Awesome list! Buuuuut: As you've already Genesis an Hackett in there I would have gone for Selling England with the epic opening of Dancing with the moonlit knight 😎😉 same with Marillion's Script! Both openings are special and great with the just the singer starting ❤
