We'll be comparing these two lenses and showing how the focal distance differ from each other. No one really SHOWED how these two focal lengths look in comparison to each other. I would think that people need to actually see the field of view of both the 11mm and 16mm types of FOV.
I might do Focal Length comparisons from 11m to 100mm in the future so do let me know if you'd want to see it.
Aside from the lens' physical size, that 5mm makes a difference. It truly depends on whether you're shooting on the go, if you're going to shoot a lot more static videos or if you need something lightweight. Both can be considered the best lenses for Sony APS-C or Vlogging.
Which lens is the PERFECT Wide lens? One is a normal Wide Lens while the other is an Ultrawide Lens. We compare the Sony 11mm lens to the Sigma 16mm lens so visually show you the focal length and how it looks compared to each other.

Insanely well done video man. Amazing! Keep it up. Felt the love that went into making this video just before the post credits rant ❤❤
lol. thanks man.
Just what I was hoping for. These two lenses being compared. 11-20 is an option, but so expensive. I think the Sony 11mm would really work for an exaggerated look of up close objects (dancers on floor...model sitting and pushing bottom of shoe at me, etc. Really appreciate this!
if you want more examples of the 11mm exaggerated look then watch One Piece live action on Netflix. It should be obvious which shots are shot with an ultra ultra wide angle lens.
For 11-20mm, you can check out sigma's ff2.8 variation. Tamron comes after that but Sigma's build quality is way better and you get really sharp images if u are into product photography/videography.
Dancers on the floor! that's what I do!, I have sigma 16mm, haha, I'm going to buy this Sony 11mm!
Doing unboxing videos on a tabletop with the camera over the top. Which lens would you use?
oh. I would honestly suggest using a Sony 20mm pancake lens. Mainly due to weight.
11m would have warped edges.
If you have a good over the top tripod setup then sigma 16mm at f5.6 would be good. It will be heavy but worth it.
You had me with the spoon mic lol Very creative 😂
tanx tanx. the spoon is from Ikea. hahahaha would not recommend
if we speak about wedding/ events video I prefer 16mm on Sony a7IV , cuz you can use it on FF with active mode and get around 18 mm for some super wide shots , and also switch to crop mode and use it as 25 mm lens and in most situations this will enough. sigma is cheaper and sharper. 11 is rarely usable lens, maybe only for blogging
true true true. i used to use the 16mm on my a7iv but now my basic combo for work is Sigma 18-35 f1.8 and the 11mm. Ultra wide for your wide shots and then 18-35mm for mid shots. I have an 85mm for close ups.
18-35mm since i get about 22-35mm of coverage in FF mode. and 18-35mm coverage with active mode.
Honesty great video. Really helpfull and funny. Your desk looks like mine.
lol. ur desk doesn't look like trash~~ bet it looks way cleaner than mine.

Great review. Subscribed!
thanks!!!
For a Sony zv-e10 which lens would be better for all around content. Wanting to do daily vlogging which would mostly be outside content but if I was in a house for a part of the vlog which would be best for that
the zve10, using 4k30 and active steadyshot (which is a must otherwise the footage looks horribile on this body) will crop 1.4x. which means the 11mm with active steadyshot will become like a 16mm without steadyshot on.
so the 11mm is the better choice in this regard. the 16mm will become 35mm. now if you want to vlog talking head etc... 11mm for sure. if you want the camera to sit on a tripod and have the space, the 16mm will be good too. its all depends on how you shoot. and you can always use the cropping factor of 4k30p and steadyshot, to change the focal length too.
Great vid! Im doing videography for a night club, very dark and dunamic environment with all the lights but the 11mm would be great for dancefloor, exagerated arty shots, etc. In your opinion, is the 5mm diferennce worth giving up 0.4 in aperture?
That is a hard question. It depends on on location as well. How small it is and etc. if it is a tight space then 5mm makes all the difference.
And 0.4 in Aputure does have like half a stop difference but it doesn’t really matter tbh.
@@EwanLimthabks for your input.I do small and medium venues, very packed tight spaces but also Ive been doing some festivals lately and veering off more into that work. Factoring that in would you go for the 16mm or the 11mm?
@@SOR2RO mate at the end, you should probably have booth. if you have the sony kit lens, you can use that on 16mm for video, and get the 11mm. so at least you focal length is covered to your needs then in the future invest in the 16mm sigma.
I have the sigma and I love this lens, its so sharp and wide enough, and very bright, it is much heavier tho than the 11mm so just a consideration. for my personal use the 16mm is wide enough tho, try and rent one for a day to see if you like it.
Hey i have zve10. Should i go for 16 mm 1.4 sigma or 11 mm 1.8 sony..i m going to do travel vlogs using gimbal
what type of travel vlogs?
if u're doing a lot more things in confined spaces then 11mm.
if u're doing more outdoors stuff then honestly just 16mm.
thanks,,really helpful for me
u’re welcome!
Nice video - I use the Sigma 16mm - Just subscribed - Thank you!
thanks for the sub!!! Do leave a video suggestion if you can~!
The only thing holding is 1.4 and another is 1.8. Can you make a video demonstrating light difference 1.8 vs 1.4? I am interested in astro so that matters to me.
oh... 1.8 vs 1.4 usually varies between lenses. hahaha. but yeah, I can do a video demonstrating the difference between various apertures.
I already have 16- 55 mm f2.8 ,which lense should I go for 11 mm f1.8 or 16 mm f1.4?
oh. just go for the 11mm f1.8.
Necesito de tu ayuda. Voy a comenzar a realizar fotografía y video para casas en la playa. ¿Cuál me recomiendas?
11 mm para interior, 16 mm para exterior.
Si las casas de playa son pequenas, consiga el de 11 mm. si la grande casas, 16mm.
11mm La lente de 11 mm deformar los lados.
(sorry for my bad spanish but i hope u got it)
thanks
You're welcome!
samyang makes a 12mm f2 for around 300
Yupp!!! It does, not as sharp as these two but definitely a great purchase. Oh and the Samyang AF 12mm F2 does have some visible chromatic aberration, which you can fix for the photos but videos shot with it will be hard.
Sony 11mm vs Sigma 10 - 18
11mm hands down. but if u need the extra 8mm then sure why not.
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank u
you’re welcome!
Hey i have zve10. Should i go for 16 mm 1.4 sigma or 11 mm 1.8 sony..i m going to do eating show food vlog
oh 16mm and 56mm f1.4 sigma. 56mm sigma for close ups. or any other macro lens.
11mm is somewhat an ultrawide so you might have warp around the edges so you can't zoom in if you have anyone close to the lens.
it depends on how you're shooting as well but I would advise on the 16mm f1.4 sigma lens
