One of your most scenic jaunts, Beat. I was touched by the deep mearing of The Septmber Song. Fitting for the timeline of your PCT. Thanks and best...pops
Chipmunk loving Fireweed, sometimes called wild asparagus. Those views of the volcanic peaks, amazing. I’ve never been there so love seeing your videos.
The views from Snoqualmie to Canada are bonkers all the way. Cool to see the Kendal Katwalk clear as it was socked in when I went through. I camped on the peninsula of Spectacle Lake that you shot toward the end. One of my fav camps on the trail. Spectacular.
Spectacle Lake was recommended as a campsite, but I enjoyed it all I needed from the trail, plus there looked to be a tons of tents down there already and frankly I've never really prioritized slam-dunk beautiful campsites-- it seems to mean much more to other folks
Knew some guys who cleaned the hiways for the road department, they found all kinds of interesting stuff, including cash. They theorized it flew out of people's car windows.
Today is 9/13 so you should have completed the trail .and if you did congratulations. My ideal would be finishing the pacific crest trail then go into the pacific coast trail back to Mexico.
I'm not familiar with this trail either! I know the OR coast trail was a common destination this year for PCT transplants buying time before hitting Sierra
Any sightings of Rabbit or Shade? I think the last time u mentioned them was when they signed in at a trail register, maybe at the CA / OR border. Enjoy….
Nice seeing Mt Baker on the sign - we could see Mt Baker from our kitchen window when we lived on Whidbey. Beautiful video, sweet memories. (but we knew it would be a great day when you found the dollar!) What curious behavior from that chipmunk - any guesses as to why he was shredding the twig into fluff?!
Shade and Rabbit maintained a 4-6day lead on me till they finished (together). We kept /keep in touch with texts, but it seemed pretty clear pretty early that they were going to stay out of reach. Regarding the chipmunk, pretty sure it was loft for insulation in a nest
Yay! One dollar richer!! Helps to cover the cost of the $15 (each) packages!!! ;p Also, no view dedication required, but I just sent you a few dollars to go along with the dollar you found so you can buy yourself and your wife a celebratory drink for when you complete your triple crown.
Spectacular scenery! Cute chipmunk, too.
Thanks!

Fascinating to watch that chipmunk! Could be some Nat Geo footage, for sure!
Those guys are so cute!! Usually they're less accommodating of my desire to film them!
Very nice scenery today !
Thank you!

Haha, yes I expect so!!

Oh man I can't even begin to imagine some of the strange things they must have found!!

Is there Pacific Coast Trail? If yes, pls share a link to it…TIA…
@@fannypack96In Oregon. But still a fair bit of road walking.

So glad Wa is living up to your expectations. Loved chippy.

Also curious!
I think I saw a picture of Shade at the trail end in Canada.

Oops sorry I saw this too late-- view dedication is already shot, processed, and scheduled-- thanks for your generosity!!
Whatever happened with Rabbit and Shade? Have you stayed in touch with them, have they completed the trip?
They are officially finished! They finished together and I'm super proud of both of them!!
