Love how Reptar looks more “primal” in this game. He moves around like he’s a monster released from his cage, and so many of his attacks have a lot of impact behind them Also imo, he might have one of the best supers we’ve seen so far, so true to the character 😂👏👏
What I really like About All star 2 is how careful they are with their characters. Heavy Characters are arguably one of the worst characters in smash games because of how easily they can get comboed but All stars is doing a great job at making them look more intimidating to get close to and giving them options to deal with certain speedy characters. Hopefully all of the characters are balanced but at least the Heavy characters are getting a lot of love.
Would never admit to anyone else, but Reptar is one of my favorite cartoon characters of all time. So happy to see him getting some love after all these years
My main from the first game looks even more fun this time around, can’t wait to play him alongside Azula and Ember But where’s my down special that covers the whole stage and does 30?! Now I have to think?!

I love how the devs are so faithful to the characters and their respective tv shows! Jimmy is a very technical zoner because he’s a boy genius. Ember has a cheer meter that boosts her specials because she gets more powerful the more people remember her. And most importantly, reptar is designed the way he is so literal babies can play him!

the running animation is a double whammy of a reference. First to Reptar on Ice and second to the fact that Bowsers old runnijg animation used to have him skid along the ground like he was sliding or skating.
Reptar looks AMAZING Now! (Is that a broken record?) He was one of my 3 favorite characters to play in 1, now he's gonna be one of my favorite 5 along with Garfield, Ember, Plankton, and Jenny! Love his top hat and ice skates! So much charm!

A meter for his fire moves is a great way to balance him. In NASB1 they were so overpowered in hitboxes and damage plus super armor. This time his moves still fell strong and great to compensate for his lack of speed, but you can't spam them to lock your opponent.
Reptar looks Amazing, love the command grab and the ice skates being in his moveset. And the Super Attack is Awesome! Definitely can't wait to play as Reptar.
man i'm amazed how this game is coming back- like i sorta had a bit of buyers remorse with the first one but looks like the makers went to town wrote some notes and are coming back hard.
That's what budget can do. And they only had that budget to improve so much on the second game because so many people bought the first one. NASB 1 may not be the best platform fighter out there, but I still don't regret supporting the devs with my money so they could do a way better sequel.
Reptar the green lizard, an mascot from rugrats is one of my favourites, reptar is so big and large, i've been played reptar before in a Playstation 1 rugrats in paris since i was a kid, now im waiting for NASB2 release date very soon
Still kinda wish they put like Angelica in the game but I still love how they thought outside the box to represent one of their most popular properties
Even though fighting Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil etc would be a bit unsettling, It would still be cool to see Angelica as a playable fighter. She’s the oldest, and people hate her enough to the point where they won’t have an issue with her trading blows with someone like Azula.
Reptar looks good! I don’t know if it was needed to give him a meter, seems like quite a few characters have them, but it’s no big deal. Great costumes tho! And it seems like Gertie is having the time of her life. She yells “Whee!” upon being knocked out. So would Reptar be a grappler/bruiser like most big boys in Smash? Like Bowser and DK? Also, that forward throw where he’s dragging Raphael through the ground is straight up Ridley’s command grab!
Put of all the characters shown in game. It took Reptar for me to see how much better each character has improved with looks, movement and expression. He doesn't look stiff like in the last game.
“Hold onto your nappies.” That is a brilliant line I think. Can we expect a certain group of babies to come to the game at all? I would give anything to have Phil, Lil and Angelica in the game.

although i really enjoy how strong reptar is on NASB1 and this showcase. sucks his regular straight fire breath has been changed. just like from bowser to charizard. but of course there are some refs of bowser vibes and k rool vibes but also he has the yoshi vibes when he chomps! i like his final smash similar to giga bowser/godzilla. can't wait to play as the giant reptilian kaiju cereal beast.

I seen a big version of him earlier in the relise of nick 2 and was hyped and for good reasons man hes awesome loved useing him in the first game and this version dosent disappoint love the refrances they added like the ice skates for reptar on ice while giveing him more mobility and love that some of his best moves made a come back like jurassic slam and his back spine drop interesting with his fire mechanic but its like bowser and charizards fire meeters so thats cool at least the damage is still the same i like thoes charaters in smash so im use to the bar system, but omg the 1 skin the robot reptar omg that is awesome!!! And a little eater egg it could be the babys operateing it like in the Paris movie so playable? But also his finisher man just a straight godzilla refrance of him destroying a city and spewing his flame attack just epic!!! Cant wait to use him he was my main last game and looks like that didnt change.

Rivals of Aether is good at balancing heavies too.
But Ludocity also knows their stuff. Just look at Fishbunjin and Tetron from Slap City.
But they are also harder to launch and deal a lot of damage.

You can also get out of hitstun with slime in this game, so heavies won't be comboed all the time
@@juneru2 but that takes 2 slime bars that heavies could also need when recovering or canceling their quick moves into powerful finishers.
It's impressive how much they improved the animations from the first one, the characters look more alive and more expressive 😄

I really hope this game does well this time. There's a lot of thought and care being put into the characters and their movesets.
The first game did well enough to get this sequel greenlighted with a much larger budget.
