- We are checking out the new Tako brand canister shells! Nishiki Bombs, Plutonium Shells, and Mammoth Shells!
Additional Details: Shot from about 150' away. The third Nishiki shell was labeled incorrectly (aka labeled as Chrysanthemum, but it was crackle/time rain crackle), one of the Plutonium shells didn't fire (due to a Talon, not the shell)!

Which shell was your favorite!?
Nishiki Bombs, but the Mammoths were nice too. Wish I could've gotten my hands on the Plutoniums too!
I like those Plutoniums. Very loud and nice breaks.
All of them!!!!
The Nishiki's are my favorite effect... But here's a question back atcha...So far, my fav of all of the nishiki's are the ones launched in the Mother of all Bombs NOAB from Winda (which Wizard is now selling as a separate 60mm single shot 1.4 pro- i have 18 of them but I haven't shot any yet). I'm sure you're familiar with that piece. How would you compare these to that??? These seemed like they had a pretty long hang time, and it was only dusk.
Great question! I'm going to assume those 60mm will be more symmetrical for sure, but the hang time on these was super solid!
Willows and ring effects are my favorites. So I gotta give it to Nishiki. Although the 6 inch mammoths look amazing. Art wise.
I agree. Those mammoths are good looking but the nishiki really showed out
Same here
Kinda wish it was darker. But the nishikis are awesome I’ve been following 76 and their demos on these “Tako” shells are next level plus their cakes & noabs are amazing too.
Believe it or not, that was after 9PM! I had to finish shooting everything by 9:30 so didn't want to wait, but I do agree and was a little disappointed when I reviewed the footage, but it turned out okay.
Joel Robinson I wouldn’t even mind a second demo of these in pitch black darkness, they are epic. I know it gets dark wayyy too late lol
What’s up sacred. If you’re willing to drive, a place up here has the mammoths, Nishiki bombs, Deuces Wild and Sailors nightmare. They’re also open all year. I agree though, Tako is a crazy good brand.
PyroWorks 365 where’s that at? Oregon ?
Had a case of Nishiki Bombs this year and I was impressed by the effects. I did have one shell that the fuse lit all the way, but it didn't light the lift charge. This was the first shell out of the case so it was not a good start, but after that I was really impressed. Got mine for $80 and it was well worth the money.
The Nishiki shells are awesome. That's my 1st choice. 👍👍💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸
The mammoth shocked me they are my top.. all are loud as heck! I love the nishiki too! But, the mammoth took the cake for me.
Awesome 💥demo 💣 tonight 🧨🚀👍
Nishiki Bombs looked solid and fairly symmetrical. Thanks for the comparison video Joel. Stay Safe.
Loved the Nishiki in person, thanks you too!
Got the tako mammoth at the fireworks superstore in Missouri, but had so much other stuff didn't get to shoot any of them off, looks like I'm in for a treat.
All of them looked great can’t go wrong with either 👍🏼
I really like Tako brand honestly nice addition
All Nice Shells
Nishiki bombs I love willows and those willows are huge they almost hit the ground
the willows were very nice. nice video as always Joel!
All three were great, but have to give it to the Nishiki bombs! Looking forward to trying these out myself.
The bombs had best performance but the mammoths hit harder. Very nice shells Joel!!!
Glad to see you posting more👍👍👍👍 missed your regular posts, always enjoy your videos! Awesome 4th show this year btw, very well scripted.
Thank you! More videos to come :)
I was able to grab the Nishiki Bombs and Mammoths, as well as two other Tako cakes Sailor's Nightmare and Wild Card. So far everything from this brand is exceptional. Will be buying anything from them on sight from here on out. Great comparison video!
All them🧨💯
Ah yes the classical tako shells. Wanna impress your audience?, get Tako!!!
All of these are fantastic shells but I like the affects of the Nishiki bombs so I’ll go with them but great video enjoyed it !!!! 👍❤️🧨
Nice man I buy the Nuclear one 👍👍
Man oh mannnnnnnnn I’ve been waiting all day thank youuuuu!!!
Haha, glad I built up the hype!
I want to buys these now there really good for a new brand and they look cool too 👌🏼
You should demo the ringmaster shells by tako the best shell I have ever had bigger breaks and even louder than the death shell please do a demo on them I would enjoy and I’m sure that other people would too.
I think I was most impressed by the Nishiki shells
Plutonium thanks for the demo
Nice shells
1:10 Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) on the left hand side of the screen. 🤣
It's a bat.
2 things 1 which one was your favorite 2 my favorite was the 6 inch mammoth.
I liked them all, but I really liked the Nishiki Bombs
The first shells are really good! I want to eat Tacos while lighting Takos
Living the dream! haha
Nishiki
Don't see a lot of nishiki w/crackle. Pretty unique.
The willows were very nice as far as height goes how did they do I couldn't really tell it looked as if they got pretty high but what is your thoughts
It was filmed from about 150' away and I felt like we barely got to 130~150' in the air. The willows went all the way to the ground and were quite beautiful!
@@JoelRobinsonPyrotechnics the willows were the best ones out of them thanks for the demo 👍
I like the Nishiki myself but you gotta wait for black sky next time to really see them willows pop. I personlly don't see myself buying any type of 6" cans unless I find out they are allowed more comp magically cuz otherwise you're trying to launch a larger heavier shell with the same amount of comp as a 4" can so you're not gonna get any better breaks and you'll probably get lower breaks on a regular basis. People were pointing out the 5" cans simply being a larger shell but the extra length is typically empty space so there was a lot of people against even the 5" cans a couple years ago but now they seem to not be saying the same things in regards to the 6". I mean the 4" Lock n Load I just bought are every bit as hard hitting and big breaking as the 5" American Super Shells I had last year. I guess I'd be intrigued more by 6" cans if the brand was a known OL brand to where I knew I was getting well over 60g but otherwise you're paying for cardboard and clay in those extra 2", at least IMO.
I hear that! I do see a lot of negative comments on the 6" shells in the pro-sumer and professional circles. Everyone is joking that 7" will be the thing next year etc. I thought about doing a video specifically on this topic actually. I almost guarantee that if I lit a 4, 5, and 6" shell without telling anyone which was which, most people wouldn't be able to pick out the 6" shell because they are all limited to the same amount of pyro composition.
There are definitely 6” OL Cans with literally 100gs of comp on average , more than one !
Willows were amazing. Mammoths were pretty great. Plutonium's were decent. Haven't seen this brand around here yet
I actually love everything from Tako! They are focusing on only making good effects. Like their N.O.A.B.s are too notch too. This has been one of my favorite brands in the last two years as well
Tako=Winda/Bright Star?
I’m wondering how these compare with the Tiger DNA shells. 🤷♂️
This could be a future video, wink wink, lol
all three where not to bad i would get me a box of those shells
Keep em' coming Joel. Love the content. You probably already know this, but "tako" is (obviously by the design, LOL) "octopus" in Japanese. And "nishiki" means "brocade" in Japanese.
Dropping knowledge! I didn't actually, but that makes perfect sense. Thank you for letting me know!
Probably the best class C willow I’ve ever seen
I vote mammoth
What state has these?
hey Joel, how do they compare to the "good shells" if you know what i mean. if they are close i may have to try a few cases ;)
I liked all 3. I have shot off the and the mammoth The Willows on the Nessie Quiban they do come right down to the ground that's cool but the mammoth I think is the loudest
Nikishi
I prefer the fiberglass tubes because I can reuse them without modifying
Looked like nice burst but made dangerously low
H..N D.. shells the loudest 1.4 you can buy around here in Missouri by far. Last year they where H.. D..
Fused 6 together with a 100shot buster sword for the finale. It thumped
What you mean by H..N @ryanschemel I'm from KCMO
Y r they so expensive
I'm starting to think all these 6 inch shells are a scam. I don't see way better performance but i do see the wayyy more price tag. What you guys think??
That's because all 5 and 6" shells are a gimmick. They are all limited to the same amount of pyro composition as the other canister shells on the market. In theory, you wouldn't see a performance difference unless a shell was under the maximum. I thought about doing a video specifically on this topic, but I thought it might get some hate lol

Ohhh so what the minimum size shell that has max powder. Is it 4 inches?? You should defiantly do a video on this!!
I didn't see a whole lot of difference. I prefer strobe and red lace to nishiki so I'm going to go with Plutonium
Very nice shells! Names are somewhat misleading... 5-inch or 6-inch suggests something of much bigger caliber, but no one is surprised by Chinese cheating one way or another with their products.
Firefly entering the frame at 1:09 is a very nice firework too :)
And you are exactly right! That is why in the video I did not mention 5" or 6" at all and only called them by name.
Cant even see them properly. Not dark enough
