    Hondo appreciate your calm voice and reasoning. I fear firing Tom Tolesco was a mistake. Raiders have been in need of a good GM for decades. The guy did alright in the draft which is more than one can honestly say about this team over the 21st Century. Brady would be wonderful in the front office, but he’s not there. Reminds me of when Mike Holmgrem took the job of GM in Cleveland but did not move to Cleveland. He did the job from Seattle. Didn’t work obviously. Wish we could pay Brady 17 million a year to be President of the team as John Elway was with the Broncos. All in, not 1/2 in or 1/4 in.

    The Raiders and AP RUINED the opportunity to draft #1 by winning 2 meaningless games. AP knew he was not going to be around and won those two games to kick us down from that #1 PICK. Had we KEPT THAT PICK , Ben Johnson would've been our coach. Bring in the SANDERS FAMILY!!! Let Prime bring his staff and sons and let's show the NFL we're #1!!

    I agree Hondo, Ben Johnson may be an excellent OC It remains to be seen as to whether or not he's capable of being a competent HC.
    I'm a fan of Robert Saleh, and Pete Carroll if he has the stamina required to be successful in the position.
    I will say this, Mark Davis needs to stop meddling, he claims he doesn't, but in key moments he absolutely does. Which is partially why we no have the 1st pick in addition to Tom Telesco who wasn't perfect but did a far better job as our GM than any other GM in the last 15 years. Yet we pre maturely fired him without a signed contract from Ben Johnson, which I thought was a huge mistake and could prove to be yet another deterrent to other prospective candidates from wanting to join our organization.

    Al Davis got turned down by Sean Payton a long time ago and he went on to do great. BJ will do well in Chicago and the Raiders will still be searching for a savior...Those 2 useless wins at the end of the year cost us a shot at getting a QB that perhaps Johnson would have wanted to come in and coach. This franchise went 4-13 and its safe to say they will do the same next season with no QB ...does not matter who the coach is

    There's no question that pete carroll is a sure thing. Like if pete's the coach , one hundred percent, we will be in the playoffs within three years, probably two, maybe one. Ben Johnson might be great, but in any way shape or form. Is he more accomplished as an offensive coordinator than Josh McDaniel, with 6 Super Bowl rings? Of course, not, not even close, and we know how that worked. So the Josh mcD 2.0 thing maybe a great analogy. Maybe not, we'll see, but I can tell you for sure. Pete Carroll knows how to run a professional football team and the job of head football coach is waaaaay different than a coordinator. it's a completely different skill set and just because you're good at 1 doesn't mean you're gonna be good at the other. I had a mentor years ago when I was a young manager looking to promote a guy and he told me to Be careful about picking your best employee and turning him into a manager Because he may be a bad manager, and you can never put him back. See josh mcdaniel, and maybe see ben johnson.

      What absolute garbage - there is no guarantee of anything with anyone! We could hire Andy frickin Reid and there'd still be no "100% we'll be in the playoffs". Carroll's success would almost entirely depend on who he got to call the offense and defense... if no one good wants to join the staff of a guy in his mid-70s then the Raiders won't do sh*t.

    I am "enamored" with Hondo's reporting of the LV Raiders. That is why I get my LV Raiders reporting from other sources who are more accurate and less bloviating.
    It was funny to hear Hondo talk about how Ben Johnson wanted this LV Raiders job and was "wooing" them like they were wooing him. Oh, and now BJ is trash - Josh McDaniels 2.0. Okay. Got it.

    Am I the only one not bothered by this? After so many first time coaches flaming out I’d rather an experienced guy at the helm. Pete Carroll for a few years to actually get the franchise heading in the right direction, whilst preparing his successor? Sounds great to me. We need work and time.

  • @FlintWestMetal21
    @FlintWestMetal21 15 дней назад

    my guess is the QB situation is what made him choose Chicago. There is no guarantee the Raiders will be able to snag a top QB in this draft, AND the Bears already have Caleb Williams who proved to be pretty solid as a rookie. I dont necessarily fault him for the decision if this was what swayed him. The bears have a more easily foreseeable future and with the Raiders EVERYTHING is a total unknown right now. As a brand new HC you wouldn't really want so much uncertainty in your first gig. I think someone like Pete Carrol would be a good choice because he has experience doing what we need, he has also had great success both in college and the NFL as a HC. We need someone whos gonna build a solid foundation for the franchise going forward, and it would be a good idea to have someone that knows how to do it.
