Hello cxdy, I hope you can see this message. My only goal in this life is to become a music producer; I'm not interested in material things or money. A month ago, I got tired of making beats. I found myself doing the same thing every time I sat down to create, and the worst part is that I can't concentrate. I keep questioning whether this beat is worth it, if it's genuinely good, and I know it's wrong, but I can't stop thinking that way. I tried new styles, but it didn't work. On top of that, things haven't been going well for me at school, with my family, and sometimes with my friends due to problems I've caused myself. I just want to regain the motivation I once had. I see other producers, and I think what I shouldn't: comparing myself and saying that they are much better than me. I know it's wrong, but I can't seem to think about anything else. I just want to know how to regain that motivation, how to avoid getting tired of making beats after 20 minutes, and how to start enjoying it again. I hope you can read this, cxdy, and thank you very much for your videos. Sometimes, they really inspire me to create beats. If this message is a bit corny, sorry lmao
And also, another thing is that I don't have anyone close to show my beats to, so the majority of beats I've made in my life, and genuinely don't know how good they are. I know I could find people on social media, but it embarrasses me too much. I don't know what to do. I also want to stop wanting to perfect everything; I feel like it has been my biggest flaw, wanting to perfect a beat out of fear that someone won't like it. I'm writing this to you because I just want to let someone who does the same thing as me know, as I don't know anyone else.
Focus on making beat you enjoy listening to. From what you wrote it seems like u are looking for some sort of validation for your beats because it doesn't really matter if the beat is worth finishing or not if you are making them for fun & to improve. Try making beats no strings attached and without trying to make money from it or get artists on it. Focus on making it simply to improve at something. Same thing goes with the other stuff, focus on how you can be objectively 1% better at the end of the day. Requires discipline but if you force yourself to do those 2 things you'll be proud of yourself at the end of the day.
@@CxdyCxdy Thanks man, for taking the time to respond. This means a lot to me. I'll read this message many times for a long time. I hope you're doing well
Cxdy is right man. Doesn’t matter if the beat is a “stinker”. It’s like practicing shooting free throws. There are gonna be some bricks. But the only way to get better is to shoot millions of free throws. Same goes for beats.
