I always notice with great producers their hihats are just another level of sauce. Sometimes simple, sometimes super creative but ALWAYS fits exactly what the beat needs.
@@Pabloesc571 lmao, idk if it’s just me but as a producer yea ig the drums are cool, but as a rapper, it’s sooo much easier to flow on the basic trap pattern, there’s a reason everyone uses it
Honestly this is pretty simple stuff. I think most producers are trying to make so many beats they don’t take the time to play around with different rhythms
yeah no they dont they just copy the same shit over and over literally have like 3 different drum patterns and a couple sets of the same fake drum sounds. so people think I just wanna hate trap beats like no if the beats good I shouldnt even notice it's a trap beat, but I cant enjoy a song when all I hear is how lazy the producer is.
Incredible breakdown, Korbinian - also loved the presentation, you made fantastic use of audio and video when showcasing the Oz-sauce (from sample sources to highlights of the relevant tracks). Keep doing what you do, my man, it‘s as informative as it is entertaining (not to mention that your passion for this stuff really shines through)!

Reminds me of TM88 Genius' Deconstructed of Lil Uzi Vert's XO Tour Life. He iterated the same thing. Hihats (percussions in general) are what moves the beat.
When I use produce, i use to do the same exact things with my hi hats from starting the beat with them and how to keep the track bouncy. Then adding snares with it to help with the bounce. as well as add texture with my kicks with my 808s, it’s crazy. Seeing this makes me want to get back into it 😭 I was doing a lot of his techniques back in like 2016-2018 that’s when I produced my songs.
@@sangremal I was producing beats that wasn’t really fitting into my sound , so I ended up just paying for beats instead. I wish I never stopped because I can only imagine where I would’ve been at now in terms of producing but I am hopping back into it.
It’s always fun watching vids like this, being a rock guy who programs drums while thinking “would a metal drummer play this?” It’s just a completely different approach to the instrument. Like putting so much focus on the hats. Most rock drummers treat hats like a ticking clock.
this is just insane learning bro, I love where you are going with these videos I want a whole series of them I will ask you to make a series on this you got a new subscriber
Moral of the video - Oz is Oz because he didnt conform by some arbitrary “rules”. Just because you have seen something done in a beat or havent seen doesnt mean you should or should not do it. Dont copy his ideas. Just the next time you get an idea of yourself, dont supress it and say “thats dumb, noone does that”, but act on it
tbh back befor trap music took over and everything became formulaic, these hi hat pattern were the norm. I got some beats from 2007 where I just go crazy on the hats/perc and layering them to the point where everything melts together to create one big bouncy vibe. still big shout out to OZ for bringing back that experimentalism and open mindedness to modern beatmaking
broo when you pulled up the mandarinen instrumental which many germans said they didn't like as much as the 2nd version, I knew you know what you're talking about cause only people who really get the bounce will realize how insane the shit he did on that instrumental is and it's just annoying to see people hating on something because they don't understand it 😭 I fully agree it's one of the best bounces if not the best I have ever heard
hooly shit I just typed in "Best songs produced by oz" and saw this viid again and I had to look twice at the view count I thought i was trippin for a sec. god DAYUM this makes me happy af to see people finally acknowliding OZ properly

The first time i was interested in the producers of a Song was when i heard 'Narkose' by Nazar. Never before i even knew the producers behind songs i listen to regularly. The whole album was produced by OZ. I didnt know it was only the beginning of what OZ is able to do.
arei've been producing for 9 years and i never stick to rules. after 9 years i still can't read music and i haven't done it because music for me is feeling and an art process through a tunnel. since i make beats i also start with hihats because for me hihats are one of the most important elements. if i pay attention to the hats on a beat it puts me on a wave of rhythm. and always remember humanize ur drums. stop with theroie and start thinking out of the box u german korb?
Die beats die er für Mandarinen und im Schatten der feige Bäume gemacht hat sind geisteskrank aber generell die Beats für Schunds von oh sind alle geil Aber sicko Mode war halt international krank
That Oz got the bounce is Oz himself. He sold the whole song to drake but everything up to “I just have to get in on that” Is oz I think. Not 100% sure tho.
I dream to one day take all this time I spend watching videos about different producers, and how they work; To create my own style and become an artist. I know you can make anything happen, and whatnot. But man it seems really impossible.

Exactly this, everyone is tired of the trap sound, we need something new that's why drill music blew up
First come up with the idea then we talk…its not simple at all then
"shindy roli" was the song i first heard him as a producer. you can hear he was drake inspired but also had his signatures
Shindy's "ROLI" will always have the hardest bounce Ive heard from an OZ beat
you always come through with amazing videos
Thank you so much 😀
we need more from this type of oz videos, its so helpful 💫
Its crazy cause as a producer Oz isn’t even thinking about this stuff. Just feeling! Good breakdown thought!
