Possibly one of the highest moments of modern performances of classics. Steve got better with age. Band is amazing. And the song is eternal. It has to be on the Human Playlist and sent to the infinite space.
do you know Hackett Composed this look Inside Genesis 1970-1975 amazing Hackett composed 80% of Genesis look here ruclips.net/video/c2F4mMOyIFE/видео.html
Steve Hacketrt Composer of this man look the name of Steve Hackett first on video Inside Genesis 1970-1975 the list of Tony Banks ouch Steve was THE Composer of Genesis
When I saw Steve Hackett in Clearwater Florida last year and they opened with Squonk I knew it was going to be the best concert I ever saw. And it was.
Quintessential Genesis. Hacket assembled a tour de force . And like fine wine got better with time.Such a technician musically. I would have loved to see this live: Musical Box, Cinema Show, Supper's Ready. I can't get enough. Thank god for the invention of RUclips. Great sound, good musicians & true to "old school" Genesis.
Transfixed by astonishment. This tune is hypnotic. In the early 70s' listening to music was an experience, an event, that's why this music is so important, because like all great, ground breaking instrumentally oriented music, it's about sharing a sonic journey together, it is music that often demands close listening but rewards repeated listening, doesn't get old.
I saw them twice in Toronto around the same time. I saw the Selling England by the Pound tour and then I saw the Lamb Lies Down tour. BRILLIANT!!!!!! live as much as studio.
Why has he found one, I think nad is awful don't get it, walked out when I saw the early revised gigs it was so bland, saw genesis in 73, and every tour since so maybe I'm spoilt, but enjoyed Steve's early albums but that's just me 👍
Only 33,122 views? WTF? people who have never heard this are missing GREATNESS! One of my most favorite songs, ever ranking right up there with Great Gig in the Sky
The whole thing is a masterpiece and so true to the original, yet even more polished. Love Steve as always and the addition of Nad Sylvan on vocals is so brilliant. The stand out performance for me however is the bass guitarist on this track. Can't wait to see them in September.
The Musicians of The Original Band of Genesis were so far ahead of their time that time forgot them as a band.....they must reunite for a tour so todays young people can see what they missed.....Gabriel, Collins, Hackett, Banks and Bruford and spot appearances by a few others were the definition of a classy Rock Band in a time that did not have many.....
@@jameskrell4392 thanks i definetly will check them albums out, to me this guy is the perfect fit for genesis lead singer, as good as gabriel was, like if gabriel wouldent return for a full genesis reunion, i rather see nad on vocals and phil back on drums.
@@Kittiesofdeath You may also like to check out a track called, "The Ghosts of Twilight, here on RUclips. A great track in the tradition of Genesis with Nad on vocal's.
Great song. Sound is right on but…, Intro is a tad bit slow in this version, and a few quick breaks are missing between chords. Sorry, but I’ve playing this in my bands since it was released. Always reviewing recordings & trying to perfect it.

The only thing I disagree with is the word possibly. Definitely.
I can't argue with that.
Well said!
Steve Hackett is definitely the worlds greatest guitarist and its never mentioned.

Just back from Cropredy Festival where Hackett et al played the whole of Seconds Out live! Best gig in years!
Well said. He's touring all this year, I'm going this fall, God willing...
Funny how the audience sits motionless and stoic like they did in the early 70's concerts!
I noticed that too. It was probably as there were seats so no standing room.
And the reaction sounds like the same!

@@teelurizzo8542 I agree!
I saw the original Genesis with Peter Gabriel in Toronto - 1973. Absolutely awesome!

Awestruck at the talent assembled on that stage.Blown away.Thank you,Steve, and company for this incredible performance👏👏👏👏👏
The closet you get a Genesis reunion. This and return of the Giant Hogweed are my favorite Genesis songs But Watcher of the Skies is a masterpiece .
One of the greatest musical masterpieces in history!
110% !!!!!
The keyboard intro sends shivers up my spine
Outstanding vocals harmonies. ..and that lefty rickenbacker is growling like fire...god bless you Mr hackett
That was Lee Pomeroy on bass.
Superb version of this still groundbreaking, timeless classic.
I still dream to hear this song live....
First heard it in 1975 listening to it tonight Sept 20 2020
Awesome. One of my Genesis Favorites performed by Steve And His Outstanding Band beyond Admirably.
Took a long time to find a great vocalist. Love him.seeing them in october🥂

I seen genesis many times since the 70s. I like him, you don't, it's all objective I suppose.👍
Soooooooooooooo glad Steve decided to do this, WHAT A BAND!
A modern Masterpiece.
Stunning 50yrs ago. Greta, indeed. We knew!!!!!!
You brought tears to my eyes....I just LOVE this song.
My favorite intro ever
Après ça on peut mourir tranquille comme dirait le cher Thierry Rolland!

Grandioso!!!
A true classic!!
Exquisito

Bruford? You mean Rutherford, right? Bill Bruford played with Genesis only as a guest musician on tour IIRC.
That was the best band of all time.
Sensacional
Fucking superb!
Tony Banks intro is classic prog.
What can you say just watch and enjoy
Soberbo!!!!!!!!!!
Amazing! Incredible sound! One of my favourite tracks. Who is the singer?
COZMIC
Un sogno ...
Foxtrot for ever
Hacket composed In the Cage look Inside Genesis 1970-1975
Great and adventures with profound reality. Huh?
Lee Pomeroy is great
He also does a great job covering Chris Squire ( who he said was his inspiration) with Jon Anderson , Trevor Rabin and Rick Wakeman .
Who is the singer here, he is excellent, i saw the band live when they where in sydney years ago, one of the best perfomance i ever saw
Nad Sylvan, he also sings on the Agents of Mercy albums. I would recommend The Black Forrest by them.

Question. Why did anthony Phillips end up leaving genesis. Answer. He could not hackett

Но истинное ли понимание смысла этой песни? Советую читать Циолковского.
The bassist has his strings upside down
Tony Banks original.
A rather unfortunate pastiche of the SUPERB original.
Steve Hackett was genesis
This is better than on Foxtrot
