      @@stefanomeloncelli1987 usually the merch ships from print shops worldwide. I can’t be exactly certain where it will ship from or if it will be taxed or not. I’ve never had anyone mention paying tax on the merch, if that helps. The pedals and pedalboards ship from us directly. Sometimes they are taxed and other times not. Sort of random there.

      Dood, how much do U smoke? U can't even tune your guitar? WoW =)) #FailTrain =;-o That tone may be 'an accurate representation' but it's krap just the same. Slash's tone isn't that GR8 either = very nasal & 'small' most of the time. Maple ruins tone. He should play an SG or something instead, but not through this pedal HAHA More like this ~> ruclips.net/video/ZZNdZNuSdWE/видео.html

      Hey Steve. Just got the most recent iteration of the WALPURGIS pedal in the mail. Nice! I am a bit confused about the instructions though. It gives settings for 9 o'clock, 12 o'clock, and 3 o'clock, but the pedal has one master knob. When min, 0 is at the top. Rotating clockwise puts 10 at the top when max.
      So, how would one do, say, 9 o'clock?

    C sharp wasn't until master of reality album, everything before then was in standard. I prefer most of Tony's early tone. His jazz phrasing that he would do in early live shows accompanied by his pentatonic scale is his own. Noone else did it like Tony.

    • @DoesItDoom
      @DoesItDoom  3 года назад +45

      All very true. Many have copied the blues aspects of his playing, but few have integrated jazz quite the way Sabbath did. The jazzy live solo phrasing blended with pentatonic blues is unmistakably Iommi.

    • @brandonjensen2440
      @brandonjensen2440 2 года назад +3

      Thats not true man. Black Sabbath Black Sabbath was in C#. Iommi lost his fingertips before there ever was a Sabbath. When lommi lost his fingertips he had to tune down his guitar ( because of the pain) therefore he couldnt play blues anymore so instead of being a blues band called Earth they became a band called Black Sabbath and created what we know today as heavy metal. Just saying....

    • @Psycherratha
      @Psycherratha 2 года назад +21

      @@brandonjensen2440 All the song from their first 2 albums was in E Standard (Including Black Sabbath) and didn’t start down tuning to C# until ‘Masters’. Even Tony has said this. And originally Sabbath was called ‘Earth’ and consisted of all the same members but had to change their name because audiences confused them with another band of the same name.

      The jazz thing maybe came from his boss telling him 2 play 'Mr. 2 Fingers' D'Jango whatever 2 try & avoid getting $ued? LOL @ the suicidal insanity of a 'guitarist' working at a sheet metal shop feeding $hit with his hands =)) I do 'house renovations' & stuff but 1 thing U must always do with tools if U want 2 avoid injury is ANTICIPATE the possible ways it could hit U, like never put your body or body bits in the path of something that can 'run away' or whatever. • @IDGAF_PLUS
      @IDGAF_PLUS 3 года назад +2

      Steve is saying they are vastly different. I have the SabCab as well and love it to death. Catalinbread is made in Portland, Oregon where I live so that's kind of a plus in a way. When I bought it it was billed as a combo of the Laney Supergroup preamp and a Rangemaster, so from the description they are very similar. This new pedal sounds excellent and the one knob is appealing for dialing tones quickly. I'd love to A/B them. The SabCab might be a little harder to dial in to match as it's 4 knob, but should have a wider tone shaping capability. If I didn't have the SabCab already I'd jump all over this. What an awesome time to be into guitar....so many killer options!

    • @gorbulus

    I sing in a Sabbath cover band and also play guitar and sing to original Sabbath like music. There is much debate on all the amps Tony used. Supposedly, Heaven and Hell and Technical Ecstasy was a Marshall? My question to you is, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath sounds like a Marshall. Anybody want to comment on that? Sabbath Bloody Sabbath sounds more like a Marshall but it's hard to tell since there is so much synthesizers and strings.

    awesome review and pedal! sounds astonishing. I just wanted to ask (as I am new to this type of thing) what do you mean by running it through the FX return? Is the input plugged into the front end and output into the return?

    • @DoesItDoom
      @DoesItDoom  3 года назад +3

      Your amp’s effects loop sits after the amp’s preamp in the circuit, so if you plug your guitar into the Walpurgis and then plug the Walpurgis into the effects loop return, you are bypassing your amps preamp entirely and only making use of its clean power amp section. This is a common way people run preamp pedals if they want them to function as a true preamp.

      It sounds fantastic in the video, as do all your pedals really, and as a huge Sabbath worshiper I'd love to try it out. However, most pedals sound great with one setup (amp, cab, other gear) and don't with another.
