I hope this mini-series can answer some questions people have, I enjoyed the challenge and am working on more unique ways to bring you prospecting content. Cheers for watching.
Yeah, i couldn't live off it, and for the work put in "8-Hour Days" on the creek, I think anyone would give up pretty quick. but I'm not going to complain about the gold haha
perhaps you can ask Oz Geology about the different clay layers out there, everyone does a cartwheel when they find a blue clay layer, I have found it to be just as sporadic as other clays.
I could do it! All you need is a spare $10k to start with and free fuel and then you could easy make at least $400 a week 😂. Even when the old timers had heaps of gold it was never enough.. Gods boogers are not easy to find!! Hello Luke and Andrew
@@anothergoldprospector I’ve done better in Anderson’s than long gully which is weird, the best I’ve done at LG is 0.3 in a couple hours. I think I was just a magnet at Anderson’s lol
That would be excellent if it was one day panning. Can you live off Melbourne gold? Yes. Would you be thriving? Definitely not. Excellent concept though.
So where is this section thats allowed to pan in long gully??. As I've researched the area over and over again and find nothing but saying its a no go zone. Especially on that gold prospectirs forum saying that these areas are off limits. There's info on jumpy Creek, stony and andersons but nothing about long gully saying this is OK.
There’s no signs there or nothing that says no prospecting under the aboriginal reserves that are there on the website, it’s also a tributary of Watsons creek not the Yarra so it’s good
@@jasonflannery4741 more or less looking at who is in charge of the reserve being ( parks, melbwater, council) and which have jurisdiction to prohibit activities in that reserve
I've had parks visit me on long gully. They have no issue with it as long as you dig only in the creek bed and don't destroy and flora in the area and pick up your rubbish. Even better if you bring a bag and remove any rubbish you find as well.

Great result.
Not quite enough to live off but a healthy amount of change for the pocket.

@@piratescrew1869 haha rob a bank on the way to the creek to get the $10k starter! I emailed sovereign hill today 😜
If you had the banker you would’ve got more for sure, a lot better ground than last video 👍

$300/ week if you are on your own roughing it. You could do it. Pretty tough though. Well done for the 5 days but.
Yeah then you need to think about how hard it is day after day on the body
That would be excellent if it was one day panning.

Yes it would be a tough gig i had to take breaks in between days i would not like to be doing it every day the body wouldnt last long.
