@zubleo8590 Good Singing, sure, but I wouldnt put her in the top 10, let alone 6th. Kanata, Matsuri, and Watame. All three top Mumei imo. The list is highly biased towards EN and ID cuz that's probably who the list creator watched more of.
Honestly I know the list (I've watched this exact one in the past) and it did most dirty. Now it's just out dated with how much things have changed over the year.
@@zubleo8590 Good singing voice and being good at singing are two different things. Mumei is pleasant to listen to but some of the people put below her are straight up professionals.
7:28 what’s sad is, even though Opera is one of Sora’s strong suit (as she is classically trained) she can’t do them often.
As according to her instructor if she sings opera too often she would lose her voice and ability to sing forever because her throat is too weak and can’t handle that amount of stress. That’s why she gave up her dream of being a classical singer and became a Vtuber.
Another tragic thing is, back when she was a kid, she contracted a disease that damaged her lungs, and even though the disease has been treated, it still left permeant damage. Which unfortunately significantly limits her potential as a singer.
She is still an extremely good singer even with all those set backs. And honestly I am just proud of her.
If I had a nickel for every vtuber from 2017 that was training to be an opera singer until a health condition messed up her vocal chords but can still to this day do a beautiful opera performance from time to time, I'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice

@@LARAUJO_0 Kanata being an amazing singer with perfect pitch but also going deaf (in one ear?) is also a somewhat similar situation.
(Also Suisei's whole throat thing, to the degree that she switched from orange juice to apple juice then stopped putting on the voice she was putting on and finally more recently (thought it has been a while by now) had an operation/surgery.)
(But yeah, Sora and Ironmouse having such similar stories is also an interesting coincidence.)

I love Gura's singing. She has the perfect voice for emotional songs. So much vulnerability and frailty in it, but on rare occasions she also really can put power in it and it sounds great too.
She gives me goose bumps every time she sings, especially when she does an emotional song and I often end up crying too. Love that Shark💙
I think Risu gets some bonus points (well deserved mind you) because she sings that well with BOTH of her voices. Personally I would swap IRyS and Suisei's position, but honestly I think the difference between the 3 of them is so miniscule that any amount of bias towards anything would have influence on the ranking.
i love risu. damn i really do, especially her singing prowess. but suisei still tops risu AND Irys, no question asked. in terms of experience and technicality, nobody in hololive, i said nobody at least for now, stands beside her let alone beat her. maybe one day risu can actually best suisei, i dunno. she has a crazy talent imo. but for now, suisei is still the one. this list is biased af.

I think its just your personal preferences and nothing wrong with that. Risu can do what Suisei capable of but Suisei cant do what Risu able to do, that alone deserve #1.
@@yuza1726 risu is not there just yet, at least until this day. sure she has the talent. but suisei commits like an absurd ammount of time in producing music and training them to perfection, things risu has not commited just yet.
With the addition of Advent, I'd love to see an update to this once Nerissa gets a cataloge of songs under her belt.

Mostly agree with the list, but really expected Kanata to be fighting for the top spot with her monstrous lung capacity, range and control. And I think one thing that you can't really measure that puts Suisei at the top spot for a lot of people is not just her singing but also her stage presence and absolute confidence.
I remember at the time this video came out being pretty annoyed at Kanata and Watame being absent from the list. PPT Should've been tied with Risu for number 1 going by their criteria.
@@kreyszigdiniz2380 Have to agree hard on this, Risu / Kanata Tied for Number one, Suichan Chloe Tied for two (Now with Advent, Rissa up there also). Alot of people look over the Orca but she is by far one of the best and top singing talents Cover has.

Kanata lung & control should be 12/10 or something~
23:53 this song is "I beg you" by Aimer. I believe this song is used as the ending for the movie "Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II. Lost Butterfly". I really liked Pekora's performance of "I beg you" during her 3D Birthday Live earlier this year.
While Shion is my favorite singer and I am a bit sad she is not in here, but I do think Risu is the closest to being the objectively best singer in Hololive. Risu really does shine when she sings live. Risu's performance of her original song "ALiCE&u" during Hololive's 3rd fes. was absolutely god tier. That was the best singing I have ever heard in my life and it gives me goosebumps twice each time I listen to it. Suisei even said that Risu is the Celine Dion of Hololive.
Risu's performance at 3rd Fes is a must-watch for those wondering why she's so highly regarded as a singer. And I think in the ranking video itself someone has mentioned that she apparently had no proper vocal training before.
Adding to that, its the signature sound by Composer Yuki Kajiura, a legend. He should check out the group 'Kalafina' which was one of her project for that unique vibe.

I feel you, FuwaMoco's latest unarchived karaoke was glorious and really was not expecting them to sing Sabotage.
Ok, im not a music expert, but i was sure risu will be the 1st place, so here is some context from my POV:
You can argue with suisei vs risu that they both have an amazing control and they reach incredible tones, but for me is not comparing a 9 or a 10, a more precise scale should be a 95 and a 100, yeah both are incredible and they had to work a hell out of their voices to reach that lvl, but there is still a slight difference in (as you say) the little "mistakes" suisei makes. You can also argue that those "mistakes" are what makes suisei feel more "human", more relatable, it really ads to her musical performance, thats why she is very loved, but to me, risu embrace what a very close to perfection a singer can be close to, sometimes it feels unreal, thats what it makes it a little over the top (at least for me).
if im a little bit dissapointed is that kobo is a little low, in my perspective, she holds very close to irys and Aski, and they both are "specifically trained" singers, i dont know what level of musical training kobo had, but to me she is very well balanced, her live performances with her guitar at her karaokes just make me speechless, she can just sing right out the bat and make things incredible.
I love mumei´s voice, she really underestimate herself a lot, but she has gained a bit of confidence over this 2 years, her latest performances are enhanced by this, she has a lot to shine in her future.
Im surprised that neither kanata or watame are in the list, but im gonna be a little harsh to them to try to make sense of this list, while kanata is an amazing singer and her lungs can blow everyone on the stage away, i feel she lacks a bit in control, yeah she can hold a note very long and her range is pretty good too, but for her is hard to switch between the ranges without slip a little, but im not totally blaming this in his ability, im pretty sure her condition has to do with this and is pretty sad to be honest, she could reach new hights in musical performance, truly unfortunate...
on the other hand, watame is an amazing singer, her natural tone restrict a little her range, but she has trained really hard to overcome this, in this regard i feel like she is a diluted version of suisei (this is not a bad thing) im saying that she has the potential to be as amazing as suisei, tho, she has still a way to go to be there.
My honorable mentions will be Takane lui and the stinky orca, this is mostly inclined to my personal preference in voice, Lui´s natural growly voice is just "chef kiss", and i love how she use it in her songs, also i like the "theme" of lui´s crazyness, kind of playing like a psycho. Meanwhile Chloe has an incredible range, she can just go from "high pitch idol" to "Sexy onee-san" in the blink of an eye, i love how she plays with this and make duets with herself in the covers. Their music is amazing.
I don't really have any training in music so I might find it difficult to explain myself, but I find some issues with Suisei's singing that keeps her from the top spot for me. I've heard Suisei's singing being compared to a blade, and that's what it feels like for me, very sharp and crisp but also very cold. Singers such as Irys and Towa have a warmth or 'roundness' to their singing that I much more prefer. Risu sort of slips in between and so I'm satisfied with her being at the top of the list, her range and versatility is certainly impressive. I don't know if this makes sense to you but I wanted to post my thoughts. :)

For me Gura just has a very special kind of magic in her voice. I don't watch the Holomembers mainly for their music, but I always immediately shut up and just listen the second Gura starts singing. Her voice is very very comforting to me. To this day I want her to do a Jazz original song.

For a good sample or Risu's singing, I'd suggest listening to her cover of "Shallys" by Aki Rosenthal. It is a very sort of "fantasy opera/fairytale" type piece, in a language that Aki Rose created herself based on Tolkien's conlangs with influences from English and Japanese. While Aki Rose has a cool 3d music video in which she dances, Risu's performance is still my favorite due to Risu's absolutely awesome breath control
The video is a little old, but I'm nearly ok with all the ranks. Only I will switch 2 & 3, Suisei has a 10 control, not an 8. But yeah, Risu is the secret weapon of hololive in this, she is 80% of the time a little meme gremlin, but is simply awesome when she sings seriusly.
Risu is the Ace up the Sleeve of Yagoo. The Little Meme Gremlin that goes totaly unhinged ones a Year for a Month and the rest of the Year is just a little Monster untill its Holofes time. For that split second she leaves "Risu" at home and becomes Ayunda (The Idol) and blows everyone away. To quote Suisei, "Risu is the Celine Dion of Hololive", and every single one of the other girls whole hearted agrees with that also.
that list definitely needs an update with Bae under serious consideration.. she's easily top 3 for me.
regarding Suisei, i think one of her main strengths is all the texture and character she's able to add to her singing. like she's never just plainly singing the melody.. always adding in vibrato, breathiness, changing the quality of her voice, and just the way she sounds out her vowels. she's a very technical singer? i think is what i'm trying to say.
with Risu, i feel like she gets more power across a wider range

I agree with the top 3 but everything after that can be debatable. Sad no PPT or Watame in this. They both have incredible voices as well. My biggest surprise was Gura being on it. I knew she was a good singer but I didn't expect top 10.
i feel its also easy to get biased thoward artists you tend to hear often.. its easy to like suisei and irys a lot because how you see them sing. Risu's financial situation and that she doesnt live in JP, makes it hard for her to fully focus on the musical side of hololive. so we dont get to hear her often... but whenever we do, she always tend to blow the crowd away.
I do miss kanata from the list here though.. pretty sure 20 points to breathing would put her on the list here.
I'm honestly shocked Kobo I've never heard her sing before, but only screech/ peak the mic with her antics... I'm as blown away as the day I heard Ironmouse sing.

I think there is a problem with the category put in for the score:-
- Falsetto and Chest Voice in their own category? How about Head Voice? There are more to Vocal Register.
- Range is not only about how high you can go, but how you can glide between highest register and lowest register of a singer.
- Breathing is about sustaining a notes, and know when to take breaths in correct places. But then how about Rhythm/Timing (to sing with rhythmic accuracy)?
- Control can be put as Pitch, which is better term to use as it is including intonation control, and Diction. What is a Diction? It is the correct pronunciation of words and clarity of words, which involve language mastery.
eg. Adele is top singer when singing in English song, but how about a Japanese song? Sorry to say but Adele may sing it with all her technique and skills, but a Japanese may not understand a word she sung about.
eg2. It doesn't matter how fast a rapper can deliver their verses, if the listeners can't understand most of their words. Each words must be clear to the ear.
Conclusion: The ranking score is too limited, and not factorize other quality like Dynamics (use of volumes in variety), Expressiveness (conveying emotion and passion), Individuality (make a song's their own) etc. And even after all that, not all vocal quality is the same. Each category need a weighted values to prioritize the important quality of a singer
eg. Pitch (50%), Power (20%), Operatic Vocal (20%) and Style (10%) - this weighted score is prioritizing tonality and control.
I honestly dont think the creator of the list knows much about singing. I mean most of the girls dont go into falsetto in the clips. The list seems much more of a subjective list of that person's preferences, it certainly doesn't strictly reflect technicality.
@@Jektastic Well yeah, I applauded OP for their courage to release video which reflecting their own preferences. When I think about it, I should release my own video if I want to leverage preference with technical skill. Frankly, I'm little skeptical with my own score and scared of backlash.
@@synnell88Absolutely agreed, there is absolutely nothing wrong with listing according to your own preferences and given the fandom it was brave. Ranking them when it seem so random just kind of irks me. Kind of a pet peeve dont do rankings if you are not well versed in the field - I cannot rank painters but I can list the art I find most beautiful.
I would love to see an objective list/rankings from someone that know their stuff. My knowledge on the subjected is limited to working with muscians, musicals and directors/producers (I work part time as a dancer and part time as a chef, flexible employers are the best). I know when people are good at singing, what the terms are but I cannot tell exactly when it's "wow!" and not "wtf wow?!" if that makes sense.
About the backlash I dont think it will be too bad if you just make a disclaimer in the start about it being focused on technical skill, to be completely safe you can just mention there is probably some personal bias. If I remember correctly there was a conservatory student some years ago that made some insightful posts on reddit about technicality that was very well received. They had some very interesting insights that really stuck.
Something I've noticed with Moona and a few other non-native English speakers is their accent isn't as strong when they sing and their voice is more clear. That makes a lot of sense. I've watched a lot of RUclips shorts and there's a guy who gives advice on public speaking and one of the thinks he says is that if you have a strong accent you should open your mouth more when you speak and exaggerate your mouth movements, and doing that will help you speak more clearly. When you sing and you're projecting your voice you are naturally opening your mouth more than usual. Even the British lose a bit of their accent when they sing certain songs.
Risu's control is out of this world. She can switch from head voice to chest voice in a dime without cracking. No one can sing ALiCE&u like her.
There's certainly nothing wrong with a subjective ranking list, the only real issue with that video is the ranking/scoring system presents things as trying to be more objective when there is still a lot of subjectivity going on under those individual scores.
If nothing else though it is a nice selection of clips of some really good singers and you're added insights and pointing out of the especially skillful parts was much appreciated.
i think accent played a role in here too like JP member pronounce english words or EN member pronounce japanese words or ID member pronounce english/japanese. There is something that change how the sound. I am not a vocal expert, but im really sure about how your tongue placement when singing will make singing different (not included how your voice is, some maybe soft and warm or hard. Yeah something like that)
i know bae doesnt have the greatest control but her chest voice, falsetto and range are amazing and might put her in at least the honorable mentions if this video would ever get an update.

I agree with the top 3 but honestly I think Towa should be up in the top 5 and think Kanata and Watame should have been in here as well, and with the addition of Nerissa, I think she can could be a contender as the top singer now

Yeah I would have ordered the list differently, but the video is just someone's opinion and we can all agree that they're all great singers. As for the differences between Suisei and Risu: I feel like Risu has insane range and a great falsetto but Suisei has incredible control and better breathing technique. Picking who's "better" at their skill level is basically just a matter of preference. I'd love to see someone put out an updated version of this though, a lot has changed since it was made.
Live singing wise I would say Risu from Holo ID is the best, she tends to choose really hard songs that some people might not find easy to listen too so it affects how popularly known her vocal is. Also to add she has no professional vocal training bcs of her financial situation, I believe if given the chance she would be so much more popular

i don't know if you've watched/listened to this already but already 1 minute into the video i'm just reminded of towa's live error performance. i teared up immediately from just hearing a small part of it in this video and in case you haven't come across the full one before, i just wanted to recommend it because it's very emotional and beautiful, and it is maybe my favorite live performance from any of the members that i've heard.
At the time this came out, 1,2 and 3 are interchangable to me. There's times where I'm like IRyS is the goat, then Suisei, then Risu. Nowadays I'd give the edge to Suisei and IRyS (and maybe Nerissa) only because they're more consistent. With that said, when Risu shows up to a live event or concert or festival, she almost always steals the whole damn show.
I've watched the original video before but just noticed Irys' scores don't add up . 7 + 9 + 9 + 9 + 9 = 43 but it says 46
When the Total Score is shown the graphic that comes up has 9-9-9-10-9, so my best guess would be they accidentally copied Kobo's 7-9-9-9-9 over for the earlier Irys part.
Suisei is a phenomenal singer but she would probably struggle to hit Risu's highs and lows not to mention switch them effortlessly on the fly like Risu did. I think the range and control is where Risu beat her.
Excluding Watame from even the honorable mentions is a sin.
The onigiriya and the heimin also feel the same about Okayu and Kanata I'm sure.
Yeah The original video author said they couldn't find archived karaoke for Watame. It's actually a joke list.
The only thing I can think is that I believe Risu puts on a voice outside of her original voice for her streams. Every so often, her voice changes on some of her streams throughout the month. I don’t know if it’s her vocal cords getting strained from maintaining that high pitched voice for streams on end.
What's different between risu and suisei is the focus of their career. Suisei got all what it take to become singer(best equipment, best vocal teacher, best studio, you name it). Meanwhile, risu just singing for fun. She got that talent but no support. Even without all that risu still shine with just her vocal.
The problem with this video is that it's using old clips. And not just old by now, but even old when this person made the ranking, 11 months ago.
Many of the girls have improved their singing a lot since the clips shown in this video.

Hey Roar, I think you missed one important factor in the video. The video is 1 year old, so the ladies have had a year to improve. So I wouldn't be surprised if they were to make another video like this today, those rankings would change quite a bit based on recent performances.
I mean, the fact that Kanata didn't even make the list, after holding a powerful note for 21 seconds and going even higher towards the end... (She's practiced for months to be able to do that, so I'm sure she would make the list now).
I am surprised Okayu and Marine didn't make the list as well, since they're quite amazing also (not even in honorable mentions, which is weird).
Honestly I'd put Kanata, Okayu, and Marine from a year ago over Matsuri and Aki, as much as I love both of them, they're not quite as good IMO.
And now we have the new challenger in the form of Nerissa to further bump someone off that top 10 I would think.
So the list would look very different today than it did a year ago.

I would say it's a good list of 10 Hololive singer.
Ranking it is pretty difficult because of personal opinion and interpretation,
like is her chest voice "better than" her voice or her control "stronger than" her's etc?
But without the ranking, you could say those are the 10 best hololive singers.
I would also put Kanata, Polka and Subaru somewhere high on that list.
personally i think outside of Suisei, Risu, Azki you can make arguments for anyone else to be included.
Actually Kanata not even in the mentions is a crime. La+ is great. Chloe has that cute to omg voice. Roboco a has rough voice which is short of cracking and recently i found my like for her. Polka is really like a goofball you don't know exactly what you get but its good. Botan has more of a whispy voice. Lamy sounds great especially after she found her fortitude in the lower register and accepted her voice. In Terms of improvement since last year...noone beats Choco and Botan.

Ranking all Hololive member neutrally is really hard. And choosing 10 is impossible.
That video is good as an overview of 10 amazing singer, if you ignore the ranking and rating.
And I really like Lamy‘s singing voice. Her singing has improved a lot since her cover with Polka. She really found her style of singing! Roboco is also very underrated. Personally I like more her „normal singing voice“ like on her remote controller cover. But her songs with her calm and „raspy“ are all great!

Original author said she wasn't included because he couldn't find archived karaoke for her. It was a really wild excuse that I feel reflects a lot on the quality of the list.
I've heard some vocal coaches and music teachers comment on this video that breathing and control should have been weighted higher than other categories rather than all 5 categories being weighted equally. Their argument is that the raw ability to punch the limits of your range and hit a rare high or low once ultimately isn't as important as consistency and intentionality.
I have to disagree on that. Well it's Understandable statement coming from vocal coaches since they are professional so they value technical aspects like breathing and control more but for music enjoyer those things are not the top priority, they're at least equal or even lower value than their gifted voice and range to enjoy. We often listen to their released songs more than live performances anyways in which their lack of technical ability can be "corrected"
well in the end of the day its,which voice sells more.
And as far as im concern, technique help but not the main factor.
I have some issues with 10-4 on the list but I think they nailed the top 3 and that is also the exact order I would put them in.
Well, you say you have listened to iRys's full hololive discography, but i recently discovered that she has an amazing body of work from before joining Hololive.😅 Her being rated before Suisei is fair now that I have heard what she sounds like before becoming our almost always accidentally very yabairys.
Just watch her 3D Showcase as well. IRyS sounds absolutely divine during the whole thing. The best she has ever sounded.
When it comes to covers, I think I prefer when the girls sing something they are not good at yet - like when Ame first sang "Kiss me", or Roboco-san covered "Homura" during one of Karaoke streams...
Somehow hearing skilled girl singing well-practiced song with almost all kinks ironed out is awesome, but... the best way I can describe it is that Kobo singing "Tong Hua" feels more like a preformance, something you would pay to hear at a concert, while the two songs above feel to me more like something sang by just a random girl daydreaming about her crush while sitting at a porch at night...
if you know what I mean...
If they redo this list at some point I'll be very interested to see how things change as there have been many more opportunities to hear the girls sing plus new members have joined. I'll be especially interested to see where Nerissa falls on a ranking like this as I think she has a fantastic singing voice but I think that maybe it's weighted heavily in certain areas so she'd likely not be number 1 by these criteria. Also, seeing Mumei place higher than Gura is quite interesting to me as it was Gura singing a certain song that first caught my attention that led me down the Hololive and Vtuber rabbit hole. I feel like Mumei definitely sings more songs that like I personally know plus she seems to sing a lot more than Gura (by simple fact that she streams more often than Gura) and they have similar qualities to their voices so I really don't know about that one.
Tbh I think gura's overall control is better than Mumei's. Mumei sings very well don't get me wrong, but you can hear her strain her voice more to hit certain notes, and it then becomes a bit unsteady at times. Gura tends to sing either more within her vocal range which masks any issues, or has an easier time at the extremes of her range.

i think risu just have more consistency on live singing, tho suisei in last couple of years improve alot on consistency. if we compare them now i think they pretty much on same lvl beside have slightly different genre on what they good at. other than control should have more points to "value" how good people sing is, this list is ok.
If you value singing by techniques, the list is easy to make.
If you value singing by biases and 'i like the voice' mentality, the list would be whatever you want.
despite this list, the one i like to listen to singing the most is gura
23:53 that's Aimer's "I Beg You". This is actually IRyS' first song at her first karaoke, ever. I watched it live and I still have goosebumps remembering it: you watch her sing for the first time ever, and it's an AIMER song. Expectations were suddenly cranked to 11, and she blasted it at 20. That's how it felt, like totally nailing the performance that she can contend Aimer's vocal range.

Personally I have a distaste for INoNaKo music, specially on how they treated their talens, so I'm glad both Suisei and AZKi tranfered from the side branch, to their main branch and went on to be streamers. AZKi also doesn't own that model, so Hololive provided a new one.
A bit of a weird feature that AZKi has with her models is that she doesn't has her base model anymore (the one seen at the timestap of her time at INoNaKa), so she is the only one that has a 3D model on her latest model instead, that she used at the Splash party (with the Asuna hair from SAO). Not gonna lie, I think it's AZKi's best looking model and I think AZKi agrees with how often she uses that model instead.
I don't think I have ever seen AZKi go back to an older model.
Like yeah, she is on the 4th model now, but I have never seen her use an older model once the new one was revealed. (Which is a shame, I love the 3rd cute idol one a lot and while the 2nd might not have looked that good I oved it having a unique black idol outfit. But the 4th one is the definitly the best looking and most fitting one so it is understandable.)
most of my quibbles with this list were about the ordering of the talents rather than their selection. primarily i would have ranked gura higher and mumei lower, but both would still be in the top 10
I actually roasted this video creator quite a bit in the replies over there since they left their own comment on the video about how Watame was not included because he couldn't find archived karaoke for her. When Watame literally has the most archived karaoke in Hololive it really throws a lot of shade on this list and I found it pretty irritating personally since things like this can impact whether or not people become aware of talents. I don't think they're qualified to make something like this and they certainly didn't bother doing the appropriate research.
Id relax a little bit. I don’t think it’s necessary to roast them because they’re just giving their opinion. We don’t need to grill these guys just because they might be off in their estimation of things.

After Nerissa came out I personally think she's the new number one for this list. Not downplaying on the previous top 3 especially Risu since she's still probably a very close second.

4 days late here, I watched the vid soon after it came out. The person doesn't seem to have any music background and it's all opinion based (nothing on the list is where I was or would put it).
The thing you were thinking with Mio was "Vribrato." It seems to be a natural thing with her because she has it every time she holds a note.
With the Sui vs. Risu comparison and why one is 3rd while the other is 1st, good question. It would be different if one was 1 spot under the other since you can't have two in the same spot. If you personally wanted to compare, Risu did a live cover of Stellar Stellar so that would be the best bet.
My top 3 HL singers are Suisei, Risu and Towa.
You should check out Amano Serafi from V&U she has a very nice voice. Its a bit rough but its so fun to listen to.
Welp control for suisei supposed to be 10 but I agree that if there is another holo member that deserves or has the right to stand beside suisei in terms of vocal Power it will be definitely Risu.

I understand the feeling when someone you root for didn’t get #1, for me it was IRyS, but listening to Risu, she does answer my questions.
As has been said, this list had tons of flaws:
1. Criminally excluded some very powerhouses of JP singers and overall a bit of overseas-bias (?).
2. A lot of clips used are old a f. Towa deserves one since her singing has improved a lot since clips used here. Same with Suisei, or even Risu (that Bohemian Rhapsody was a joke pick during karaoke -- she didn't even remember the song that much).
3. As for the orders: Risu vs Suisei is a tough question. Suisei has improved a lot during her career and her control has been much better compared to her early times. She definitely has much more professional polish and experience in her singing, so even as a Risuners I might still put Suichan at #1.
However Risu also has some less known qualities that not many people know. She can imitate singing of other vocalists perfectly to the smallest details. Her rock singing is actually insanely good and she can definetely become a Paramore-like band vocalist if she wants. She can also do stuffs like super high rock-style belting that is cool a f but rarely shown. Those are rad, but she definitely need more time and opportunities to show them to general public before they could be recognized widely -- while Suisei has already shown that she can handle everything that was thrown to her in professional level

Mumei is extremely good, except she doesn't take herself seriously enough. She often will just goof around or sing in a very nasal way like she often does while talking in character... I just wish we could make her understand how good she actually is, cause i feel like she doesn't trust herself most of the time. When she forgets herself and just sings instead of thinking about it, she sounds so friggin good.
I recommend you should listen to Unravel covered by Amane Kanata (21sec long tone)!! Idk how top 10 Hololive Singers missed Kanata ...
Not an expert on any of this but it was certainly interesting. Personally Matsuri is my favorite singer despite her not having the biggest catalogue of songs/covers (And her originals are not my favorite use of her voice). Nevertheless, I really love her voice
The problem with these kinds of rankings is, that they contain a number based ranking, but the numbers that are the base of the ranking are just random values someone applied to a randomly chosen "stat" without a clear definition and then it is used as evidence to make the ranking seem less subjective than it actually is...
It isn't any less subjective than any other ranking, just because it contains a subjective grading of randomly chosen aspects of singing.
So at the end of the day, the numbers are nothing more than decoration because singing ability is not just simply quantifiable. You either like someone's singing or you don't like it and then you apply random numbers to it.
Risu is rough diamond, it's very regretable she didn't focus in music. But we know if she serious in singing she will always be number 1, just look at Holofest, her performance always better and more better.
honestly, they should have the "emotion" category. This is the category that attracts most audience. Also the reason gura is popular and the reason why you keep repeating guras part.
However, I understand that this is hard to evaluate.
gura definitely drowns you in emotions when she sings. i can admit that she's not always the most proficient technically (thought overall she is quite skilled) but it doesn't matter, she just owns everything she sings and drags you along for the ride

the flawlessness starts at 1:39, but with your technical observation, I suggest you start the video as it is so you can see how Gura adjusts her tone from redoing the song to absolutely nailing it.

Don't know if it was intentional, but I love that the top 3 were ID, EN, and JP respectively. I'd love to see an updated lst like this in like a year because I have little doubt Narissa wouldn't hit somewhere on here. Looking at the scoring I think chest voice might be were she takes a hit. IRyS is the only EN member I can believe is better than her honestly
Risu is more stable/consistent imo than Suisei. Her high notes waver sometimes. That's why I feel she get's a better score than Suisei in the control category. Risu doesn't waver too much on her high notes as far as I can see.
I do think Kanata is missing from this list though. Honestly I think Suisei should have been above Irys though.
I think applying numerical scores to music is rather snobish yeah. Especially when theyre doing different songs and sometimes during nonserious karaoke streams
For singing technique and skill, Kobo maybe not really on top 10 list, but performance wise, i will paid for Kobo concert even if she just playing a guitar/piano/violin, etc, and sing any crazy frog or crazy dog song or whatever.
Suisei and AZKi not being the top 2 rubs me the wrong way. I feel these lists are always made by biased Indonesian fans because where they always put Moona, Risu and Kobo above girls that run laps around them. Where the hell are Kanata and Watame and why is Mumei above Towa, Sora, Gura and AZKi?

Yeah, this list is incredibly wack in a lot of areas. I personally don't think that they should be considering karaoke performances at all. It's very common knowledge that the girls don't always take them all the way seriously all the time. It's more about just having fun rather than pulling out all their stops. It just rubs me the wrong way for someone trying to wholesale judge them critically from them.
Gura seems a little low to me, she might not have the biggest range but her breathing and control are 9 or 10, that Drivers licence cover was on point, the fact that she sometimes put her spin to the cover also show that she is confidend that she can do it, no problem.
I would put Mumei chest voice a little higher, 8 maybe, she can go lower than showed in this video. To me her strongest point is that she is a vocal chameleon: she can sing vocaloid song, songs from musicals and a song by Towa and do justice to all of them and she can duet with other holomem and appear or disappear as she likes, for example I had to listen to the Ghost Rule she did with Kiara 3-4 times before I could confidently say who was singing each part.
It's insane how Risu can be underrated given how insanely good she is.

Let's be honest. Music is always going to be a bit subjective, and there is never going to be a truly objective ranking. That said, I personally find Suisei to be far more consistent than Risu, which is why I would have Suisei on top.
You skipped the disclaimer at the beginning where they state they're only going by live performances since studio stuff is edited. But skipping it was for the best since it also spoiled who the #1 ended up being.
Kobo is a small girl, so I'm not surprised chest is rated 7.
