David Mebane from Knoxville, Tennessee has only been collecting Funko Pops since 2014 but he purchases between 20 and 30 per week!
He has now amassed the largest collection of figures in the world, with an official total of 7,095.

I remember him coming into Box Lunch often when I worked at West Town Mall here in Knoxville a few years ago. He would leave with bags stuffed full of Pops. & they can be fairly expensive even with the sales. He was definitely 1 costumer that stuck out to me. Very interesting to see his home full of them. Because now it all makes sense. 😄

What makes a collection interesting, is hearing a story behind a particular item. Or you can sense the individual's passion for their collection. Not just someone who collects just to collect. And they barely know anything about a character or show they are trying to share.

That's true, but you know what else makes a collection interesting? Literally holding the world record for having the most of something, and having them all on display for everyone to see. Most people genuinely interested could spend an hour checking this collection out without the guy saying a word
I sold quite a few funko pops to David when I worked at Gamestop here in Knoxville! I still see him shopping for them even when I don't work there anymore, and it's exciting to see him fighting for that record!

the previous record holder is much more organized but most pops are un boxed while this new record holder are mostly in mint condition in box, some are with signatures on it and the most interesting part is that the pops are paired with a shirt...insane!!!

7,095 pops?! That's insane!! Hats off to that guy for being the record holder for most Funko Pops collected. All I can think to myself after seeing that big of a number is if he was to sell all those in a couple years, or if anyone in his family sold any of those Pops in a few years I'm sure at somr point they'd be even more than they're worth now!
