Can we talk about how Maia legit puts so much work into her, well, work but also feels like a real person, like she is? Lots of singers and dancers often feel like they just work all the time and nothing else but Maia feels like a normal young adult who isn't famous but then she produces pieces of art like this. She adds in the normal gen z humor and the work of someone working for years upon years. I applaud her for that and if she's reading, I applaud you. You are a really talented person and I can definitely see you going way, way farther than where you're at now.

I think its interesting how she tends the acknowledge her past self and smile at her, but not once did she look at her older self. I think that it reflects that she never can predict the future, and that she 's still looking at the past. The same goes how the older self is interacting with the kid still, suggesting that she misses the days of her youth. I love this music video!

I really like how beautiful this song is. Like, no, it’s not beautiful in a way that renders you speechless, it isn’t the kind of beauty that would knock all the wind out of you, the kind that feels better to be appreciated from afar than to come too close for comfort. It’s not beautifully unnattainable and out-of-reach enough to be put on a pedestal. It’s... astoundingly normal. It’s comforting in a way that it feels... _realer_ than anything I’ve ever seen before. In this day and age polluted with filters and tapered with fantasy, it’s relieving to finally see something that just _enjoys_ existing, one that doesn’t try to escape reality nor distort it, but rather embrace it for what it really is to them. This song doesn’t make me feel like I owe the world my uniqueness as a person like other types of media nowadays tend to do, it helps me allow myself to be... normal. To just exist however I want. Everyone expects themselves to be special that they often forget that they don’t have to be. My sincerest apologies if it seems I read too much into this song, but I’d like to thank mxmtoon for existing however she wants. And for this song. And for everyone else out there who, maybe, at one point, just allowed themselves to exist.

the lights mimic the time of day! she wakes up and its darker with one bright light (sunrise) and it goes into her childhood with the morning lights, and then midday lights, we see flashbacks to the older woman and shes dancing in the dark (night time?) and then its afternoon when they all dance together and then its maia alone at sunset. i cant stop listening to this song and i cant stop watching the video. i want to paint every frame of this.

This is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. And this video matches that feeling. The part where she starts dancing with the young girl made me realize that my younger self will always remain in my past. I will never get to talk to her or be her again. I’m not her anymore. I’m an adult, taking on the world and all of it’s scary parts and beautiful moments. I will never again have the innocence of a child. That part of me is gone.

The dancing was BEAUTIFUL. I have this assignment of writing up a script for a story, and I had a massive mental breakdown since the story i made kept getting rejected by the teacher. So one night I had this dream about a business woman who breaks away from overworking and dances with her child self instead... And then this dancing music video comes in with the title "fever dream"? Even the lyrics feel so perfect for the premise of my story... I don't know how big of a coincidence that is but thank you for further inspiring me to do this little story of mine.

I don’t see anybody talking about the lyrics, but the meaning is so important.
It raises the belief that the failure to seize control of your life and the future only further enables for others to write your fate for you. In the fear of this, you would reach out to extremes in living your life, straying as far away as possible as you can from the thought that it would be controlled by other people if you didn’t, but you also know that the closer you hold your life towards you, the more important what you are fond of will become, taking control being at the expense of more pain that comes with the sacrifice of who you love; what you love. Of course, this is just my own perception of the lyrics, and I know that it’s subjective. I just hope that I was able to capture any sort of the intent.

i love this so much! she is doing everything through her heart. other performers, singers and stuff have extra choreographic scenes that look like a lot of pressure and like theyre focusing so hard. she looks like she’s dancing through her heart and having fun. i love her!
