#Sillicon #Quality #5.5ghz
i can already see it now...mircocenter "sir why have you returned this 12900k six times?"
all for 100-200 mhz
Yes please do a video showing how far you can push each of these CPUs (max daily stable settings).
Seeing how these cpus are all over the place even tho according to reddit and ryzen mainstreamers "overclocking is dead" its a disgrace silicon lottery shut down just before alder lakes release, really missed out on a well binnable Gen here and a potential revival of their brand. SEOOO
The CPU lottery is very real. Always has been on intel. Miss the days when we had forums full of bin #s. Could go to the store and hand pick a good chip easily. Got a 5.1ghz 5820 that way.
Damn seeing the first cpu doing 1.16V underload was ridiculous
that is actually nuts lol, agreed
No other youtuber is doing this kind of testing. I love you.
yeah this is the good shit
Got a sp101, 5.2ghz at 1.26v llc5, havent bothered going further.
Go further for science.
@@cHaMp630 Sold the cpu for 1600
What site did you sell it on?
@@Multimeter1 none, i sold to a XOC guy ive known for a while.
@@xflamousz poor guys in a deep rabbit hole
My SP 82 12900K needs about 1.288v on load to pass R23, so that lines up.
SEO stuff. Be interesting to see what frequency the god chip does. Prob be similar to your god 10900k I imagine
I like that he admits when he was wrong about something and does legit testing to validate
Its funny, when other tech tubers and streamers doesn't talk about Cpu silicon quality and its importance for overclocking.
bro exactly this, they never cover the benefits of what 95% pc gamers play which is esports titles lol
I haven't OCed my CPU yet but my board (Maximus Z690 Hero ) predicts 97 combined SP score, 105 for P core and 82 for E cores, if it's worth something,
it's nice to see that my CPU isn't complete dog shit, not the best by long shot but not terrible.
I can see it now , my sp is bigger than yours bro! lol great content as always we appreciate everything you do for the community my man 👍
Great video. Thanks for this!
Great content, I’d like to see a follow up vid on the max freqs. Let’s see how fast you can push those SPs…
Totally agree!
Good job on the vid, I would recommend using warp stabilizer to make your B-roll less shaky it will come out looking a lot more professional
Didn’t even know this existed, thanks mang
Sp113 that will make you a god on reddit
Great video Jufes! Yeah do the max-freq-anxiety video now once that we are over the sp-rank-anxiety!
my 12900k is 82sp and cannot do xmp on 5600cl40 trident kit will crash and error is tha normal using z690 asus extreme mine 12900k wil no pass cb r23 at 5.1 pcore with 1.35v
Looking at your R20 score, you seem to have disabled e-cores, right? This would, beside the very high quality of the first chip, further explain those super low core voltage demands for 5.2ghz pcore full load.
Bro, you already know we want to know how far that god chip can go! Then how many FPS it gives in WZ, of course!
Excellent video Jufes. These numbers are impressive and on point. Thanks again for relevant content.
Nice research, and it does fit in the known specification variance for consumer electronics which is and always has been ( as far as i'm aware ) +/-10%, you'll see upto 10% variation in literally everything you purchase, psu's, cpu's, motherboards, fans, whatever. if it's functioning correctly it will always be +/- 10% that's designed in at the mathematical level when designing electrical circuits and picking components, and only varies in the prosumer and industrial markets where it has specific regulatory accuracy levels attached, for example, scopes, scales and meters generally have a 1-2% accuracy ( Eg common fluke electronics meter ) and extremely high end scientific equipment uses completely different weighted accuracy systems, with confidence levels attached, basically consumer electronics are garbage tier in general, it's only really silicon fitness and process maturity that makes more and more cpu's hit the higher levels of the maximum theoretical silicon fitness curve, and early silicon is almost always the most variable ( although god chips will still exist )
and if you don't believe me, go and check all the documentation of your power supply, as you'll find the numbers clearly marked for that product.
Watched, Liked, Shared, Subscribed, Supported, Joined. Content is top notch, and great originality. Never seen someone binning CPU's and testing ASUS's "SP" to verify it works. I'm interested to see where the God bin chip can go with the TEC cooler Jufes edition 2.0. At that low of voltage I can imagine that you wouldn't even need to delid or use liquid metal.
Awesome video brother, keep up the great work! Appreciate you 🙏
I am pretty new to your channel, one thing I see is that your not so routined in making videos like other Tech RUclipsr. Don't get me wrong, it's a good thing that you have your own way presenting the informations, I like it.
Good video and very interesting that the sp actually is useful, to some extent.
Good shit man - quality content. Keep it up 💪
that p core 113 is really high. golden
How do I properly bin the cpu I am having stability issues right from the start I tried imitating your settings but it keeps crashing
Your videos are definitely getting better keep up the great work
Always a must watch … good shit sir
Nice video man... Would love to see the max clocks those CPUs reach...this will validate more the findings.
Thanks
Soo the SP is useless, but you would be „very upset“ if you got the dud? What is it now?
🤦
P-core so 681,E-core sp 65407 ,the prediction sp says 200…is that good or bad.also this is on a brand new ks that I finished this morning ,is there a time period where it adjust to actual number or is what I see what I have ?
Nice vid! Dont have any SP numbers, still rocking the 7700k.
What frustrates me is how the IMC binning is all over the place!
have the 8th and 9th gen cpus also sp ratings?
Disabled E-Cores is also the reason your voltages were able to drop that low. the E-Cores are the ones power hungry (for the most part).. turn them babies back on and your BSOD'ing left and right! just figured id let ya know, Cinebench is a very solid benchmarking and stress test. i refuse to run the unnecessary Prime type Stress Tests due to my gaming PC's lack of seeing that type of demanding workload... on my work PC thats a different story but for 95+% of PC owners, cinebench R20 is more than suffiecent to stress test and overclock accordingly, however if it was stable on R20, i always run my most demanding game and most demanding settings and framerate caps off and see if it runs fine. if had that happen where R20 passed but after 2 hours of gaming i BSOD. 12900k, 3080ti but unfortunately only have 64 gigs of Bdie 3600c16 at 4400mhz rite now
the lapsus at 3:06 ahaha, great video !
love the big ass rock on the ground near the computer LMAO
Great Content keep it up and definitely interested in a Video about what those SP numbers mean in terms of real world performance
Asus also get customer for their additional holes in the socket to fit the previous generation cooler. Don't know why they are the only one to think about this.
I love the differences, that is so nutty. 1.21V to 1.32V got me like hmmm. WTF lol
Just a crazy idea for some video content, but what I was thinking is a versus between a maxed out rtx titan, shunt mod liquid metal, silicone putty, water cooled, vs your 3090. I know it's pretty crazy but thought it would make for a sweet video.
That was a good watch, very interesting and looking like you got a nice chip on your hands
MSI Edge OC Guide for the 12900k
Yeah so my 12900k might just be a SP40 then 😂😂
Yup, finding out the real world difference for max OC would be very nice. Video would be well appreciated!
you know we def want to see the max of these lol. that pretty much goes w out say. awesome vid as i often wondered myself if this sp ratings was some asus bs marketing ploy lol. i guess it is possible for it to work. could you imagine though if you got a misdiagnosis though and got rid of your god tier chip ouch. good vid see you soon.
OMEGALUL 🤠Truthfully, that's all i have seen last time I was in Reddit's 12th gen thread too. Great video idea btw, not for nothing but you could be huge if there were a lot more of me out there. Best useful vids.
what is the app that you use to monitor the watts and temp
Was this made before MSI "CPU Force 2" and Gigabyte "Biscuits" ?

Prime95 max heat. That's how I test stability. If it passes Prime95 without throttling or bsod, it's stable in anything else. :)
my 12700k is 88 sp, glad to know there are a lot of 12900ks worst binned out there. Your lot of three and you got two within my 700ks range
(SP90 pcores) 5.1ghz p cores with ht. 1.261/1.270 min vcore stable r20.
Can't wait to see what kinda FPS these different SP numbers get.
It only matters for overclocking
not that serious
Also would have been nice to see the default VID for each cpu in HWinfo64
I kinda wish I had an asus board for my 10900k. I would have known to send that shit back to intel so they could rename it a 10850k.
I wouldnt bother with that. I briefly tried out an asus board with a 10900K SP88, but that chip was utter garbage. Pulled a ton of power and BSOD'd so quickly. I later got a different gigabyte board and 10850K, this chip is actually stable with better vcore/clocks ratio, and its barely sipping power. No idea what the SP of my 10850K is, but it doesnt matter to me as the result is better anyway.
@@thecatdaddy1981 In my case, I had my chip on an evga dark, it wanted 1.36 V idle 1.32 load to run 5.1. I switched to an msi board because the dark has issues, and it was stable at the same for a few weeks, now it won't run 5.0 stable in apex legends with 1.36 load V. I got a new chip because why not, and now I am stable 5.1 ghz at 1.236 load. I could probably do 5.2 with this chip but I don't care, not worth the time for a few more fps especially in apex since I hardly drop below my 290 fps cap
@@zgmurph Yeah your first chip was garbage just like the 10900K I tried. My 10850K amazingly is better than both of those. OCCT small avx stable at 1.30v idle / 1.24 load for 5.0ghz (no avx offset). And 5.2 with 1.40v idle seems to be perfectly stable for gaming (did about 45 mins occt large avx before crashing but strangely enough the BSOD stop code referred to drivers or something). This must be a pretty lucky 10850K since I can go all the way down to 1.26v idle for 5.0 without errors in large avx, while a friend of mine needed over 1.35v just to boot 5.0. Silicon lottery difference can be huge. Me I'm just glad I saved some money and got a better chip in the end lmao. Not too fussed about the slight fps differences between say 5.0 and 5.4.
@@thecatdaddy1981 For sure. This second chip I opted for a 10900kf since it was the cheapest I could find from a reputable seller. I am just happy to no longer be crashing in apex and not pumping nearly as much power into the chip.
@@zgmurph Likewise lol, sometimes you just gotta swap chips and see.
im lost aren't the cpus the same from the same company??
Yes please I've got a 12900k and would like to know what a safe max all core clock would be for gaming. Do the Asus z690 Tuf board also have a SP feature
find out yourself orrrr you could pay jufes… xD
@@xlinnaeusNo only reason I'm asking because I've received my chip but still waiting on the motherboard to arrive. Anyone knows if the Asus Tuf z690 wil be oky with the 12900k
No Tuf z690 does not have sp feature
Curious why the apex was in the thumbnail but the tests were done on the strix A?
whats the difference in correlation to the video, I just googled rog motherboard and thats the first pic that came up
@@FrameChasers because I was looking at some vids of apex OC and came across this one. I was jw lol
Is it just me or is there static in his microphone audio?
Top man, Ive always been unlucky with intel chips my 11900k is rated at 45sp runs 5.1 allcore @ 1,42v
why did you conclude to stop lower voltage on #1 when it didn't even crash? btw: odds to pick a SP102 is like 0.5% with a single purchase. you're one lucky SOB indeed. :)
Yes do a maxOC FPS vs SP. Thats the end all.
Good stuff dude!!
did you disaaable e cores?
Keep up the good work bro!!
Yes let's see the max oc to see if it makes any real difference as long as you can keep it cool.
i'm very courious to se a 12700k tuned by you what can do versus 12900k; is a lot cheaper but has got same p-core count... so maybe not that far
yes sure, they are the same yes considering all 700k and 900k 12th gen overlockers disable e cores. So they're literally the same if not for a little less cache mem on the 700k. But also i think 12900k are the top of the lot. Out of the piles of 8 usable P cores, you have better chance in the Silicon lottery with the i9 not the i7. But yes, this generation the i9 has never been more useless
@@mrjonjoe1895 Naah dude. With 12900k now you are guaranteed to lose silicon lottery because the good bins go to upcoming 12900ks. I just got 12900k that does 5.1ghz/1.34v which way worse than the trashcan bin 5.2ghz on this video.
@@jaybee0507 You right the best bins are going to the 12900KS now. Just like the 9900KS. I got a 9990KF after the 9900KS came out and my 9900KF was a trash overclocker.
I’m building another pc with a i7 10700k in a micro atx. Would you recommend Asus or another mother board brand? Thanks in advance
Going for high fps in escape from Tarkov is what I play mostly
Yeah I went with 5800x3d for my pc, my friend won a i7 and wanted to build a pc for himself
Dang my 12900k Sp82 (90-68e) how can I even game with that 😭
yes please max frequency !!
Now I want Asus MB to check how big is my SP.
Just got to say. I love your channel. #Realtalk
Got the 500 🎉
I have a 3700x SP0 because I’m retarded and bought Zen2 for gaming just like papa Steve from Hardware Unboxed told me
MSI has some kind of "CPU Force" score in its more recent Intel platform BIOSes but it's not as well understood as SP.
Never saw it in a msi bios. Any evidence?
@@berata.251 I know I've seen it in Z590 Ace and Z590 Unify-X bioses
Don't suppose you'd sell that 113 chip?
Low voltage means low power and low heat => better boost

Damn, looks like Intel is trying to emulate AMD's crappy silicon disparities. That's a huge gap. Congrats on the god chip though. That's a neat find.
I feel a need to compare my SP....
I don’t need an SP score to know my 10900k is average af
I have Sp103 10900k. Does that mean my "P" Core deserves a salute? 😏
great chip, totally not worth my attempted upgrade from my old 10900k , they're within 3% performance for me in just about every game and test I ever done, and the 900k was much more simple, and easy to deal with. THat thing deservees loveeee
@@mrjonjoe1895 tbh I had a sp 63 delided and LM it ran 5.6ghz all day. Granted vcore was high but in my opinion you can make any sp63 into a SP100+ just delid and LM. As long as temps are below 80 you are good
@@2zzgeSupercharged yeah, im of the same opinion that if the temps are fine you're fine to keep pushing the juice if need be. My current 12900 all core 5.2 sometimes crashes on loading wz, which spikes to like 270w for a second and my cooler just doesn't keep up. But i agree, if your temps are fine your fine, and even when we think we're not overheating, sometimes we are like in my case.
cool video man :👍
Didn't know about this feature and just checked my 12700k.... It's bad, real bad. P core 77 E core 45 Overall 66. I knew it wasn't going to be good judging by how it overclocks...or doesn't. It's unfortunate because I don't upgrade platforms often, but I guess it was my turn to loose the silicone lottery. I have gotten great chips on my last 2 platforms. My 5820k could hit 4.8Ghz with low voltage (don't remember exactly what it was) and my I7 920 was an absolute top tier golden sample. I wish I never would have sold that 920. Those chips were fun to overclock and being my first build I didn't realize what I had. I may try to pick up a 12900KS in the future if the price isn't absurd so I won't have to worry as much about loosing the lottery.
In the same boat as you - my 12700K is trash. I will get the 12900KS and disable the E-cores and see how high I can get the P-cores to go.
This was a cool video. In tempted to sell my 5950x so I can play around with these new chips. But I know that's stupid 😂
How so I got my 12700kf to 26000 on r23 that’s dangerously close to the 5950x stock with way less cores and threads. And blows the 5950x out of the water in single core performance. I’d imagine a 12900k can beat it in everything easily.
@@yoltsbp what clocks voltages and ram is your 12700 running? Got mine to 25000 with 5.2p and 4.0e at 1.31v combined with 16gigs of 4000c15 ram
Despite having an SP of 57 my 10850k is absolute garbage :).
My SP is showing to be 10"
Imagine you pay such price for a CPU but it performs like shit.
My sp81, 5.2 1.344-1.375
