Appreciate that brother, yesssirr I was quite happy with the turnout. Honestly, on the finger groove decision, u can't make the wrong decision. I have went both ways and both are extremely comfortable. If u have any doubts that it might not fit your dad or he might not like sort of having his grip chosen for him, I'd suggest getting non-grooved. But the grooves are very comfortable imo also...I wear size L/XL gloves for some sort of reference point. Thanks for checking ✔️ out my content and I hope to hear from you again down the road. That's a fine knife that any serious Buck collector would love to add to their collection, congrats! I have a 112 custom with green wood scales, nickel bolsters, and SV30 blade. CJ and Chuck Buck '05 signed on blade. Still hunting my 112 SV30 drop point.
That's the kind of American heirloom quality meant to out survive it's owner. Fantastic choices on the build. INCREDIBLE!!! Even your sheath choice....is the perfect compliment for the elk stag.
Wow! That may be the nicest custom 110 I've seen! I've thought about getting one myself, also in the elk but I'm leery of ordering a stag or horn piece without seeing it first. Horn can vary hugely from piece to piece, and I've seen them with very uneven pieces, one side bulging out, the other kind of concave, one side with barely any of the dark figuring, the other with a ton of it, etc etc.. You lucked out though. Perfection right there!

ZT, GEC and others and My most carried knives are a Spyderco Native frn and a Buck C and G Hawk collab. flipper that i do not remember the model of. I also have another Buck that is a lock-back and has a s35v steel blade that i like to carry too. Great choice...im a Buck fan myself. I was gonna do the same blade, scales, but in Brass bolsters....however, I'm gonna try the new Magnacut 119 instead
Been thinking about pulling the trigger on a custom 112 for a minute now but wasnt sure if the build quality was good enough to justify the extra coin think you sold me on it. Damn nice blade forsure.
I'm 65yrs old, I've been a Buck 110 fan all my life. I got my first one in the early '70s; I've used them for hunting, on the job, I've used and abused them and they've never let me down. I have a few 'Safe Queens' that have been gifted to me over the years from various companies that I've worked for and even have a few 112's that I like very much. But I've yet to have a 'Custom' Buck made for me. But wow that may change very soon, as I'm loving the knife you had made for you. So far all my Bucks have been 'clip point' blades and only recently have I seen the 'drop point' blades and I feel like I have to have one. I'm going to have to head over to the custom shop to see what's available.... How long did it take for you to receive your knife from time of order???
That is some awesome feedback good sir!! I'm really glad my lil video inspired you to look into one of their customs. It took them about 5-6 weeks on my build. And honestly a couple of weeks of that was waiting for CJ (Buck) to return back to the office so it could be signed. Probably was done construction-wise in like 4 weeks. that's a nice knife, I kept thinking you should make a little stand that lets you put it down at all different angles because it's hard to see when you're holding it, since holding has some shaking a little bit.

@@HTS_EDC I am in the process of communicating with Coast Tools and am going to offer to do some market research for them. I am very certain most would choose my modified Coast BX309 knife over a standard Buck 110. Unfortunately, out of the box the Coast BX309 is a great budget work knife but nothing more. Hopefully, Coast might offer this modified version.
Huge 110 & 112 fan here. Love them both. I'll swear the 110 is my favorite. Then around six months later, i'll swear the 112 is my favorite. 😂 I randomly do that. Anyway, that 110 is a BEAUT! 🥹

I have owned the same Buck 112 since the mid-seventies. They did not offer a drop point then. I prefer the drop point and thanks for sharing.
Right on!! Love the 12 and 10. Probably prefer the 12 as a daily carrier. But I still carry 10 too. Same with the blade shapes. Been thinking about pulling the trigger on a custom 112 for a minute now but wasnt sure if the build quality was good enough to justify the extra coin think you sold me on it. Damn nice blade forsure.

I'm 65yrs old, I've been a Buck 110 fan all my life. I got my first one in the early '70s; I've used them for hunting, on the job, I've used and abused them and they've never let me down. I have a few 'Safe Queens' that have been gifted to me over the years from various companies that I've worked for and even have a few 112's that I like very much.
But I've yet to have a 'Custom' Buck made for me. But wow that may change very soon, as I'm loving the knife you had made for you. So far all my Bucks have been 'clip point' blades and only recently have I seen the 'drop point' blades and I feel like I have to have one. I'm going to have to head over to the custom shop to see what's available....
How long did it take for you to receive your knife from time of order???
That is some awesome feedback good sir!! I'm really glad my lil video inspired you to look into one of their customs. It took them about 5-6 weeks on my build. And honestly a couple of weeks of that was waiting for CJ (Buck) to return back to the office so it could be signed. Probably was done construction-wise in like 4 weeks. that's a nice knife, I kept thinking you should make a little stand that lets you put it down at all different angles because it's hard to see when you're holding it, since holding has some shaking a little bit.

@@HTS_EDC I am in the process of communicating with Coast Tools and am going to offer to do some market research for them. I am very certain most would choose my modified Coast BX309 knife over a standard Buck 110. Unfortunately, out of the box the Coast BX309 is a great budget work knife but nothing more. Hopefully, Coast might offer this modified version.

Huge 110 & 112 fan here. Love them both. I'll swear the 110 is my favorite. Then around six months later, i'll swear the 112 is my favorite. 😂 I randomly do that. Anyway, that 110 is a BEAUT! 🥹
