I think isotherms could help and make for faster work when the temp difference of the object your looking for is significantly different than the environment around the object. Deer in a warm environment doesn’t seem to fit this criteria. I need to do more testing of this in both the hot weather and cold. But I’m glad we found his was set wrong, he should have much better luck in his searches. Thanks for watching!

You were seeing my controller, I was guiding him on his. He had the isotherm setting turned ON, and incorrectly adjusted. The isotherm might help you if you’re looking for very hot objects versus the surroundings. Personally I prefer them turned off as it can cause you to miss things. But all depends what your target is.
Interested and ready to pull the trigger. Is this the basic 3t or do you have any accessories? Are they the same cost wherever you order from? Anything you recommend me getting with the 3t?
So I got the Care Basic package, my understanding is DJI sets the price so you should see the same price on the Care Basic package everywhere in the US. There is also a Care Plus package. Study the DJI Care package differences. The drone only comes with 1 battery. I have also gotten 2 extra sets(3x batteries per set) of batteries for 7 batteries total, that’s what the box will hold. It’s nothing for me to burn 3-4 batteries in a session just depending on what I’m doing. I have also added the JZ T30 spotlight, a stylus, controller lanyard, screen protector for the controller, 2 extra sets of props, 128G micro sd-cards, and a landing pad. Get the batteries you want but only having one will get old real quick. And I do recommend the screen protector and a good lanyard to help prevent any accidents with the controller.
Have you noticed how that light is extremely inaccurate during windy conditions? When I fly Mine in the wind at night, the light is always way off from the target. Is this something that you’ve experienced? Idk if there’s a fix to that or that’s just how it is
Being a single axis gimbal on the light, it's to be expected. It is indeed a pain...but the next best offering is in the $1600 range. If you align the body of the drone with the wind direction arrow(I would suggest into the wind) then the light spot will be more centered. The way I see it, as long as your target is stationary(like a dead deer), should have all the time in the world to orient the drone and light accordingly to properly confirm the target.
Check this video and make sure you are using high gain setting. But you still have to fly in the right conditions. It’s not just a hot day alone, it’s more related to the sun beaming down and heating up object or reflecting off objects. And even after the sun goes down these objects will give off the same energy, stumps, logs, rocks, etc. So you need to try to fly on cloudy days, early mornings, late evenings for best performance.
Your T30 is working so well, where did you get it from? I got one from ebay and it couldn't open the light. Asked JZ manufacturer they said that unit is just for China, returned it. Adorama has it with $799 though, they said theirs are for US market.
I got mine from the eBay store “yh-smart-tech”. Currently they have them listed for $488. I think it was about $515 shipped to the states. It arrived faster than stated in the shipping estimation and seems to be really nice quality.

I’m not sure they’ve ever made their own spotlight. DJI provides the SDK development information to developers like JZ or CZI for the purpose of developing payloads.

The spotlight runs on the Mavic 3T battery. Normally I get about 30 minutes out of a Mavic 3T battery. With the light mounted you will lose about 2 minutes of flight time due to the mass alone, and about 7-8 minutes less minutes if you leave the light on continuously.
I always have mine set to 100% light output but only run it continuously ON when I have found the wounded or dead deer. So in reality it only costs you a few minutes of battery life.

Yes, not sure I did it in any of the videos but the two light modules are positioned wider than the body of the drone, so the light can shine straight down.

Just purchased a 3t. Having a hard time with thermal settings , maybe it’s just too hot outside. Any tips for 90 degree days ?

Oh that’s right…lol. I forgot about my M2ED having a spotlight. It was weak and underpowered though.
