The UK won't suffer from tariffs if they are targeted and part of strategic trade agreements. The UK can focus on protecting key industries, encourage domestic production, and use tariff revenue to support local businesses. Additionally, the UK can negotiate deals that lower tariffs on essential imports, balancing costs and reducing the risk of shortages.

It must be pointed out that China has biggest domestic car market in the world (~1.8 times that of the US). Its domestic car manufacturers had about 56% of market share in 2023, i.e. 44% were still imports. That figure is expected to approach 70% when 2024 statistics becomes available. However, 30% market share for imports is still not insignificant. So further growth is not something to be alarmed about.
