I haven't shared this in a while. Back in September 1975 to October 1977, was my last 2 yrs in the United States Marine Corps I was stationed at Camp LeJeune, NC. Some weekends I would swoop (as me called it) home for the weekend. Friday evening I would always look forward to listening to CBS Mystery Radio Theater, driving home. From Camp LeJeune NC to Charleston, WV it would take around 11 hours to get home, now it takes 7 hours. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant.

Hey Sarge, memories have me posted in Fort Yukon along the Yukon River in Interior Alaska summers of '84-'86 with only a radio for entertainment, and that was AFN (Armed Forces Network). As well the barracks in the summer of '80 at Ft Lewis WA where again radio was an ally, especially on those all nighter CQ duty calls. Semper fi Marine!

A big THANK YOU to all of our troops and their families. My son will be home for the first time this holiday in a few years due to him being in the Marines in South Korea and I'm just as excited in that as I was on Christmas Eve while growing up. Again thank you all for everything you do and for the sacrifices you go through to keep us safe. ❤️

@Donna Allen thank you, Donna, but I am a Veteran Marine, one who has served. I missed my first two Christmas when I was in the Marine Corps. I missed my 1st Christmas in boot camp at Parris Island, only to graduate boot camp 3 days after Christmas on 28 December 1973. My 2nd missed Christmas was December 1974. I was stationed on Okinawa. It's had missing Christmas when you're only 18 & 19 yrs old. Marines put up a big front saying, missing Christmas is not a big deal, but it is. Stay safe, Happy Thanksgiving, and upcoming Merry Christmas. Greetings from Charleston, West Virginia. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sergeant.

Listening from Jacksonville Florida at 7:23 a.m. on July 14th, 2022. The heat index will make the temperature feel like 106° outside today, so I will stay inside and listen to more of these wonderful episodes. I hope everyone has an excellent day and uses CBSRMT like I do, to take a trip down memory lane.

Dialed in on 6/28/22 from Nwest WI where 39 degrees greeted us yesterday morning and may very well do so again tonight. Awesome for sleeping and for pulling out Gma's cedar chest Pioneer quilt for just such occasions. Goin' to the OTR Edge w/ home spun quilt and memories makes for joyous sleeping. Gnite all and may the stitch be with you.

@@kushfairyny1 Good morning Ny1. Our precision orchard thermometer read 43 degrees for an overnight low, not quite into the 30's like the other morning but close enough to thrill the senses. Here in the Seeley Hills of N'west WI, we are in what's classified as Zone 3 for USDA purposes(agriculture). So yes, it can get delightfully cool on selected nights any time during Summer...so keep that xtra quilt at hand Ny1.
