It really is. I visited in 2018 and it was like a twilight zone. The most nonchalant I don't care about you or your money attitude I received was crazy. On top of that the food was incredibly mid for the south. I had better in NYC and that's crazy.

The inconsistency of the quality of the food is what gets me. I’ll go somewhere and be blown away by how good the food is, but then when I come back with three or four friends because I’ve been bragging on the place, it’s like a totally different, taste and experience. I’ve been embarrassed like that a couple of times in Atlanta restaurants!
I've experienced that too. I be feeling like it's more than likely 1 person in there that really gives a crap about the food and cooking to where it's done with care and love that will resonate the same when you eat the food. I went to a place, 1st time bussin'. Second time it was down right nasty and disrespectful. The slaw had no taste and it was chunky. Never had chunky slaw and there were huge long chunks of carrots so I knew someone didn't care and the person that did must've been on vacay. Said I'd never go back. Next time I drove by this place someone was vomiting in the parking lot while cussing and fussing. Never again.

Why? I never go by reviews, I go by my actual experience. I have had good and bad experiences at every place i have ever eaten at, so why would I listen to one persons single experience. I love Chimes channel, but his taste buds are totally different from mine, I just like seeing what restaurants are offering, not how they taste to him.

You should. My people have quite sourcing select foods and have resorted to opening cans. If they would join w others to purchase raw ingredients they may get a better result at better prices.

Born and raised in Atlanta and I cook at home 95% of the time because I was raised on home cooked meals. There are a few places here that are really nice but they don’t get the recognition they deserve. The newer places with overpriced over hyped food are the ones people recommend then you get there and you’re taste buds are disappointed.

I’m from Atlanta and you have to try some of the less popular places that have good food. Even if you don’t review it just try it. Here are my suggestions: scotch bonnet on campbelton rd, bamba cuisine on cambelton rd, Ike’s cafe on tech dr (they have Nigerian and Ghana in versions of waves dish so remember that) and try at Atlanta Fish House and Grill they have better fish and stuff than jj fish in my opinion. Also try lamp cuisine is pretty good as well. . Also try the beautiful restaurant they have good home cooked food they are on cascade. Some of these restaurants are really hidden and you’ll never about most of them. Ike’s is pretty popular amongst the African community. Q time is ok for home cooked food as well. But not sure if they are still as good. Also try the Q restaurant in east point is good. And thumbs up diner is ok as well. Dessence cafe is good as well. I’m going to stop there but these are some pretty good restaurant for you to try when you want some decent food. I hope this makes your trip better because I agree that the Atlanta food scene can suck. But if you stay with the low key restaurants you’ll be better off. I stay away from super hype restaurants. The food is rarely that good. Tassili’s food is pretty good and healthy but the wait is crazy because they are so busy and make everything from scratch other than that most overhyped food isn’t good here.
This is the kind of many that I'd marry. Assertive in the best way. More people like him need to stand up to these business owners because at the end of the day, they work for us.

I’m from Atlanta and you have to try some of the less popular places that have good food. Even if you don’t review it just try it. Here are my suggestions: scotch bonnet on campbelton rd, bamba cuisine on cambelton rd, Ike’s cafe on tech dr (they have Nigerian and Ghana in versions of waves dish so remember that) and try at Atlanta Fish House and Grill they have better fish and stuff than jj fish in my opinion. Also try lamp cuisine is pretty good as well. . Also try the beautiful restaurant they have good home cooked food they are on cascade. Some of these restaurants are really hidden and you’ll never about most of them. Ike’s is pretty popular amongst the African community. Q time is ok for home cooked food as well. But not sure if they are still as good. Also try the Q restaurant in east point is good. And thumbs up diner is ok as well. Dessence cafe is good as well. I’m going to stop there but these are some pretty good restaurant for you to try when you want some decent food. I hope this makes your trip better because I agree that the Atlanta food scene can suck. But if you stay with the low key restaurants you’ll be better off. I stay away from super hype restaurants. The food is rarely that good. Tassili’s food is pretty good and healthy but the wait is crazy because they are so busy and make everything from scratch other than that most overhyped food isn’t good here.
This is the kind of many that I'd marry. Assertive in the best way. More people like him need to stand up to these business owners because at the end of the day, they work for us.
