Jesus Christ gave His life for us, took our sin upon Himself, He shed tears for us, and He sees our tears, but best of all, He shed His precious Blood to take away our sins and He died, and rose again from the dead so that we too can live forever with Him.
"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
    1st John 1: 9
We do not continue to live in our sin.. we need to recognize sin for what it is, and turn away from our sin. We are a new creation, born again. God can break any bondage and set us totally free by the Blood of Christ.

Let me tell you what the words of this song say to me, if I could. I've been married 31years, and spent 28 of them addicted to pain pills and pornography. I single handedly destroyed a marriage, and was so abusive to my wife with the lies, the pills. In September of 2021, my body literally started shutting down, it couldn't take anymore. After a month in the hospital fighting pneumonia, sepsis and viral meningitis all at the same time. A month later, the addiction to pills simply vanished. I know it was the Lord, I know how heavily hooked on them I was. The Lord was clearing the table for what was coming. A year ago last month, my sexual sin was exposed. I went before the elders in our church, and confessed everything. I had to confess to my wife I was bisexual that our marriage was a lie. Our church set me up with an organization called Pure Life, a ministry that deals with sexual sin biblically. I had planned on getting the first counselling session in and I was going to take my own life. My counselor, a precious brother, told me I was nothing more than a hypocrite and a pharisee, and he had a message from the Holy Spirit, that the darkness I was in had overwhelmed me and I was rushing toward suicide. I knew this was the real deal. So, a year later, my wife and I are rebuilding our marriage, the Lord tore it down to bedrock, a sure and solid foundation. Two months ago, I went before the men in our church and confessed the sexual sin, all of it, and the strongholds that came down, I have never in my life lived in the freedom I do now. I believe with all my heart He felt every teardrop my wife cried, and that I cried. Here's the thing, to feel someone's teardrops, you would have be holding them. The water....the peaceful still water of Psalm 23. I have seen literal miracles.

I love this song. It was so meaningful to me as a kid raised in the Jesus People movement. Marsha Stevens-Pino wrote it in 1969, and it became a very important hymn to the young Christian hippies on the West Coast in the seventies and into the eighties. So sad that folks stopped singing it in 1981 after Marsha came out as a lesbian in 1981. So amazing that as a young, queer kid, I was singing "I felt every tear drop" while I was struggling with my identity in a community that didn't accept me. It's so beautiful that you are helping to bring it back. Hopefully, queer kids that hear it today will be served like I was by this song by a queer Christian woman.

That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit of God is of the Spirit-not of the flesh. Jesus said, You must be born again to be His. You will not continue in the flesh. I do not hear that in Marsha's words. I hope she learned this in time to be eternally saved, as God's child.
