@@DossFarm have you tried slapping the water with the flat of a board? Dk if that would work. 🦫 Beaver slap to warn of danger & stuff to their family but u got a lone beaver.
Wait, i remember something, i once watching some trapping show and a guy used some beaver pheromones to attract it to the trap. Whatever the stuff is that they excrete from their anal glands. I think it may be sold on market, kinda like how they sell the deer pee spray.
Good evening! You got quite the beaver problem. Looks almost like a well established colony over several decades. I really hope you can get the situation taken care of and the pond restored to good health. 🤔💖🙏💖
I wonder if you dug out all the area where the holes are and cleaned out all the trees and debris from the entire edge of the pond. Then dig out the mud and muck from the pond making it deeper with a smoother edge using it to fill in all the area of the beaver dens if that would stop them from coming back? If the area doesn't have brush and trees to use they may not find that place home anymore..lol? Plus it would fill holes so the animals don't get hurt
When I saw all the animals following you for food, I had to laugh and think of the very old song “oh McDonald had a farm” E I E I O!! I feel for you about the pond problems. Very concerned that one of the animals could fall into a hole and brake their leg.
Don't apologize ~ this is a day/days of your life ~ that's why we keep watching. This is what's going on right now & we're as eager to catch those rascaly varmints as you are😏🙄😂 thanks for sharing, & have a great day🤗❤👍✌
Ha! I graduated in 1970, my youngest daughter graduated in 2000.. I love your property , everything is an adventure and discoveries everywhere! I always wanted to have acreage like yours, minus the snakes..lol thank you for sharing your adventures!
You are never past it. I graduated in 70 also and just lost my homestead I was starting because of the Weed California mill fire. I am not giving up. I am getting ready to start all over with a teenager grandson I am raising by my side.
@@deborahbrooks8938 I’m so sorry you lost your homestead to the fires. That had to be scary, and I hope you weren’t injured in any way . I lost my husband in May of 2020 to a very short diagnosis of lung cancer , so I’ll just enjoy Chad and his families videos . And pray that you are able to do what you dream of doing too.🙏🤗🙏 (oh a ps too, my daughter was born on my 30 th birthday at 9:18 pm on 7/18..lol )
Have not seen so many dens for beavers. Things can't be done over night, slow and steady. Celebrations when beavers are gone hopefully forever. Love and hugs for all of you
Another way to flush then out is run hoses from the top of the dam. Put slot in all the exit ways. If your lucky you will hit the main nesting room and flood those critters out. Just tryin to be of help. 🐴🐎😊
Gotta get the dam critters out of there.. I was thinking of clearing all those trees off the dam and then fill in the holes or something like that. Time to set up a "watch" for Mr B and send him away.. Hope you get him soon. And ALL of his friends and relatives there. YOU are the new sheriff in town. LOL With some nice fill and landscaping the dam would be a pleasing part of the pond area too. Hope it works out..
Great to see what goes into morning chores and the different animals. The beaver must go though for sure. Have a BLESSED day and keep SHARING your PASSION
after exhausting all avenues with beavers on his property my dad resorted to dynamite. It worked but then the state of FL had an issue over the water route being changed. Good luck.
I sure hope you can get that beaver off your pond one way or another! Sounds like you’ve gotten rid of a lot of snakes which makes me feel better for you guys since they were poisonous! Good luck beaver 🦫 hunting!!
My husband and I trapped a pond and when we circled the pond with traps and came back to the beginning we had all ready trapped some muskrat. When he went to get the muskrats he busted through the top and muskrat rolled up both legs and got to his chest and jumped off. That was the most muskrat we had ever seen.
I'm glad none of the cows or donkeys or goats stepped into any of those holes. They're big enough holes that an animal could get hurt bad if they step into a hole.
I think if you would have offered an old time rancher or farmer if they would rather have a horse or a 4 wheeler, I’m sure they would say they’d take a 4 wheeler.
Chad, You know beavers have a great sense of hearing and smell. Daniel Arms tried everything. I can not remember how he finally got rid of him, but traps did not work. Keep doing what you do. God Bless
Was it the noise, & the vibrations from the chain saw that brought the beaver out the first time? I'm thinking it would echo pretty loudly through some of those holes?!
Beavers are hard to catch. My late father in law and his twin brother trapped for years and beavers could figure out how to evade traps no matter how many they set out. So good luck.
I have heard that to cherry bombs does work because the fuse will not go out when it hits water. You may not kill it but it should be ding enough for you to get a shot off. Lol God bless you and your family.......🙏❤🙏❤🙏😊🙂😀
Can you put something in the holes to try and smoke him out or burn all of the trees on the levie so you can see better? Love watching all of your videos.
Time to start filling in some of the holes on your dam. My granddad put cement into the hole before filling them up to give more structure to his dam. He had found a colony of ten beavers destroying his large pond dam and a few others in some of his smaller ponds. He lost two ponds due to the damage done and wasn't going to lose another one. That was back in the sixties, the at large pond is still there today. Those beavers had caused him to have to put down his favorite bull, due to a partial collapse of one of the dams. Granddad had six ponds on his dairy farm. After he started filling the holes, a majority of the beavers moved on one way or another. Your place is looking great, love how open it is now. Prayers and positive vibes as you continue your family's journey.
Missed my favorite live stream 🥺...I am watching now.. My daughters really sick...I look forward to these lives..Much love to you , Rae and the precious boys...⚘
You are correct horses are expensive. I have owned several & use to rope & they will eat all your good grass. That 4 wheeler is a work horse!!!! Hopefully you make a deal on a 4x4 tractor!!!
Hello and good to see you again and hope it all works out for you and you get that beaver and the chickens are so cute best of luck take care and be safe always 😊
Question? Why don't you just break the pond dam and drain it and start over. That way you get rid of all your snakes and beaver problems. Start fresh. Your cattle dont help your pond by walking and swimming in it too. The moss can make you stock very sick if it's a certain species of moss.
Chad is there anyway to be able to smoke out what is in the holes. Just an idea that came to me. Also having that many snakes around is not a good thing. Wishing you good luck.
If you remove the trees and branches from around the pond then there wouldn't be anything for the beaver to use to build a dam... that seems to be a logical solution, but maybe I'm wrong. At the very least the beaver would have to travel further to get more trees and branches which might make it easier to hunt them when they aren't in the water.... just a thought???
Hey Chad. Just sending a thought about the Beaver troubles your having. How about smoking them out. All wild animal run from fire. Wishing you the be Sue Twoponi

Your scenery there is beautiful. Rome wasn’t built in a day. It’ll all come together in due time. Those holes look dangerous for your animals but I know you’ll take care of it.
I might have to make a trip down
Welcome anytime 👊🏻
Good luck with the beavers advertise local for a trapper tell him he can have the hides for his service
I can just picture you tossing cherry bombs in the beaver dens. I know people would have a cow but it's just what we would do in the late '60s/'70s.
I was gonna suggest tannerite lol
I think it’s time…

You should have someone bulldoze all the trees and land around the pond. It might help flush out the beaver and clean up all the branches.

Get you a Beaver suit and go out there about 4am. That beaver will take one look and pack bags.
Pressure regulator to lower pressure so you don't blow out your faucets and appliances.

You've just made a Billhilly cow fountain! Excellent engineering. Much love, many prayers
You should move all the dirt piles around the place to fill the beaver den holes.
You should put some cameras around the pond so you can see how many beavers and where they are coming from
Can't believe you have not seen that beaver again, come on get it. Thank you for sharing your journey, God bless you and your family.
Might try playing the sound of running water. It will really trigger them to head to the sound of it.
@@Carole2Kittens they don't. They will try to dam up the running water. So that will actually attract them.

I agree with Becky Merriner. Drain pond and clean up the holds the guy with the buffalos looks good.
Need to clear those cut trees. Maybe perhaps start digging into the top of the dam and rebuilt it?
Chad, you need one of those traps like Tom Orr on Mountain Men!
What about using tnt for getting rid of the beavers? Second chick is definitely a Polish.
Happy hunting

If you took the top soil off the land around you pond it would look so Gouda 🤐 xx
How exciting 😀
you could burn where you cut the trees on the back side of the pond. that way every thing is more visible to see and hopefully safer for you.

The den will not be below water level, the tunnel may be but the den wont. They have lungs that need air not water.
Move the trees on the pond

If the conbear isn't working try a cable snare.
Aww, the chick's are so cute!
I've seen people put some snake powder out to kill snakes around a pond. I don't know how well it works.
Hi, there. Have you looked up the snake behaviors yet? Some water snakes will overwinter in muskrat holes.
Chad, put the trap across the opening of the most used tunnel and put brush around it so he can't go around the trap.
What about putting an aerator in the pond. If they don't like moving water it may make them come out or move out.
Good luck‼️

Pull those fallen trees and branches out of there. Get as many as your 4 Wheeler will pull.
If you’re trying to watch for the beaver you might consider staying down wind of the dens. You might have a better chance of seeing him or them.
How about inviting the Robertsons out and they can take care of the Beaver for you they have special ways LOL
