Good morning sir and ya’ll. Don’t know why I’m telling you but we just lost my wife’s father. The infinite wisdom and stories he could recall were incredible, even to his last day. Thank u sir for taking the pain away, even if it’s temporary. Many thanks and much respect. RIP Mr John W Green. You’re sadly missed!!!
Those scenes that you used in the beginning of this show were so beautiful. I could sit and just watch one of the scenes for hours. They are fantastic and your filming of them were great! Thanks so much for doing this show. You do a fantastic job on everything that you share with us.
The unmatched beauty of God’s creation is truly glorious and breathtaking! Thank you for another amazing video and information. I may never make it to Yosemite, but you’ve given me the next best thing👏
The part mentioning Overhang Rock --- All the influencers falling off mountainsides to their deaths in recent years... might be a good time to reinstate that old sign in that photo "There's a difference between bravery and just plain ordinary foolishness". It's pretty comical sometimes reading the "I said what I said" tone of vintage writings lol. The bit about Ansel Adams at the end was pretty cool. I've known about his work all my life, but I don't think I've ever seen footage of him speaking before.
Absolutely beautiful Park! Thank you for the tour Jeff and Sarah. I've been there many times - recently riding my Harley through going over to Mono Lake. Back in my youth in 1991, a group of us from church climbed the backside of Half Dome going up those terrifying cables. I had carabiners on my harness that I moved from pole to pole until we got up to the top where we threw a football around! We were watching a disabled claimer hoisting his way up the face of the monolith and we took pictures like Sarah likes to take. Appreciate all you do and we'll see you next Sunday!
Jeff, I'm with you on standing close to the edge of a cliff. My biggest weakness is a fear of heights. As someone once said, "it's not the fall that kills you, it's the sudden stop". Best of luck keeping Sarah out of areas marked, "Do Not Enter". Thanks Jeff and Sarah for another educational video! 😂
Having visited Yosemite Valley many times as a youngster with my parents, going to see my uncle as he worked for the park service, sometimes in the valley, sometimes in San Francisco. We had the opportunity to stay, once in the Rangers' Club, once in the house of Ansel and Virginia Adams behind the Ansel Adams Gallery (once called Best Studio as it was owned by Virginia Best, future wife of Ansel). Years later, I lived and worked in the valley for the then concessionaire, Yosemite Park & Curry Co. When Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip visited, I and other mid level managers were required to gather outside the chapel when they and their entourage attended services. Once, when business was slow, I was required to temporarily work in the grocery store's gift shop (which I was not happy about) only to find, one day, an elderly man entered who I immediately recognized, Ansel Adams. We had a pleasant talk for about 15 minutes; he very much remembered my uncle. It turned out this was his last trip to the valley, he coming to see the flowering of the dogwoods. Thank you, Jeff and Sarah for the wonderful video that brought back so many memories!
I was 19 and went to work with my future brother in law. We did a tile job on the 3rd floor of the Ahwahanne in 1993. The views were amazing! Out door ice rinks were fun and the raccoons not so much. I knew the famous and rich stayed there but back then didn’t know who. Presidents and their interns….. Jeff thank you for sharing about the San Luis reservoir I didn’t know about JFK, I traveled the 152 many times and the next one I’ll be able to share this with my family!
I grew up in Mariposa county. I've lived in El Portal and even Yosemite. Thank you for bringing back the fond memories of home. I really miss being there
Thank you very much, John. Have you moved so far away that you can’t visit there anymore? By the way, if you do visit, you have to get reservations during the peak season but we were able to get a pass for memorial weekend when I booked it two months out, so it’s not difficult to get reservations.
Born and raised in CA and the only view of Yosemite was driving once as a small child from Hwy 49 over the mountain to Hwy 395, then once more as an adult from Hwy 395 over to Hwy 49. It was all beautiful, but that road is scary. Thanks you guys for a beautiful trip in the valley.
I’ve said many times before. Nothing like the Sunday morning history lesson given by the History Hunters channel w/ Jeff & Sarah. Thank you guys for the great scenery shots. California is a beautiful place as long as you’re not in the Big Cities these days. But I don’t want to bash California, just be amazed by its lasting beauty. 🙏🏻🇺🇸
Visited Yosemite in Oct 2010. Attendance in the park was nicely light. I just parked my VW in a public lot and toured the whole park on my trail bike. The Ahwahnee was spectacular! There was a fire in the fireplace and I sat on one of the seats inside the huge hearth to warm up. Didn't do any climbing due to a lack of time. I did see several rock climbers half way up Half Dome, though; amazing!
I was eight years old when I first went to the park. That was in 1958. At that time, we were able to play in the water, don't remember what part of the park. Why I remember, my brother and I were throwing rocks and I got hit in the head. Needless to say, we didn't get to play in the water anymore that day. Thanks for the memories, Len Dillon
Great video. Brings back a lot of memories. My family camped in Yosemite once a year and we saw the fire falls every night. When I was in Scouts, I hiked the John Muri trail 50 miles. Great memories. 41 years ago, Angie and I planted a tree at Mirror Lake. We would not do what Sara did.
I may have mentioned this in a previous HH video but a friend of mine in the 80s was saying he wants to find out how the waterfalls work. He said he believes there's a pipe that sucks the water back up so it could go down again. So much for natural beauty 😢
I love seeing your wife get out of her shell a bit. I think she's completely NUTS going out on that ledge! I think I remember that video. It looks like you had an enjoyable time away.
Hi Jeff and Sarah... Awesome views of Yosemite park ...the hotel is beautiful ....and the falls amazing...lots of celebrities visiting there too....thanks for vlogging this amazing place ..lots of dedication and hours spent to get the perfect shots...have a great weekend..take care...... Deborah 🇨🇦
This was an enjoyable video and nice of you to make it on my birthday 5/25. I was there 8 years ago, you filled in so much more detail! Such as Pres. Kennedy keeping the fire fall waiting😲!! And other historical facts. Thank You!
My dad worked for the government during WWII and after culling trees for the war effort and forest management. He knew Ansell Adams and was influenced by him to take up photography. Got me interested in it too in the '70's. I remember the fire falls too, as a kid in the '60's. It was spectacular. Thanks for another great posting! 😊
I absolutely love this place. They have best lavender lemonade. The food is delicious also. I visited this place with my husband and my late sister and my mom and dad.
When I was young, I would be the one climbing out onto the edge of those rocks with no fear whatsoever, but now that I am older, you can't even get me anywhere near high places. And can't even watch anyone else do it either without my stomach getting queasy
Looking at that overhanging rock I weigh over 200 lbs. and I would be afraid of rocking it over the side. Thanks you two for showing us the hotel. I remember it when I was a kid when my family went through Yosemite.
Cool video! I like how you presented JFK's locations. My cousin spent a career as a waiter at the Ahwahnee - he saw many interesting people come and go there. He still has rentals in Yosemite West if you need a place next time! Also, the whistle at 3:28 - nice touch!!
Not a bad job if you can find it. He must have had a blast. What time frame was he there from start until end? I was only at the hotel once even though I lived the area for a few years.
We went twice as a corporate group...dinner at the Awahnee and we stayed at the Wawona Hotel and a private rental the second time. I remember having lunch on a rock after we hiked one year but I was asked to accompany a woman who fell ill...turned out blocked bowel. We sat in the Awahnee and had another bite while waiting for others. Anyway, group picture in front of the fireplace and I will say, I have had the experience. I love Sarah's pluck! She is a true complement to you, Jeff. And her ❤shows through, when she took the picture for the Japanese family, you could tell it made her feel good.
My favorite place on earth. I love the high Alpine backcountry of Tuolumne Meadows. I lived in Oakhurst for a few years in the early 90's. I kick myself every day for moving away. Hopefully to return someday in the new year. Thank you both for bringing me a little piece of Zen on this glorious Sunday. ❤😊
I would highly recommend it! If at all possible, enter from highway 140 through Mariposa as coming through the tunnel that exits to Inspiration Point will astound you with the 1st view of the valley. It is hard to put it all in perspective and fully realize the size of El Capitan, Half Dome and Clouds' Rest!

Thank you Jeff and Sarah for going to a beautiful park
I couldn’t watch. I get the willies!
Fast forward there's more info about the hotel past that scene. 😊
Great video!
Thanks for another great video. It’s a great park, I really like the work of Ansel Adam’s his black and white photos are stunning. It was also featured in a Star Trek film. Keep up the good work.
Greetings Jeff and Sarah. I enjoy your videos. Clean, informative and fun. Best wishes from the Philippines.
Glad you like them! Nice to hear from someone in the Philippines!
