Dawn When I found your channel I was a shopaholic on line shopper. Clothes with price tags shoes never worn things still in the box. And now that has all stopped. I feel good about myself because I have changed my purchasing habits. Thanks again.
Yes, when I was making more, I spent too much. I lived in the better part of town when my kids were little so they could go to better schools, which meant higher rent. I also spent a ton of money on them for clothes, shoes, gadgets, gaming systems, Christmas presents, etc. And I don't regret one penny I spent on them or for them. If I had it to do over, I'd do the same. But what I DO regret is all the money I spent on myself, such as clothing, bath stuff, candles, spa treatments, lattes - such a horrible waste of money.
I've been saying for years that even now, with less stuff and money, America is abundantly blessed. We still have endless choices for so many things in our lives!❤
I'm sure many of us spent more money on things we shouldn't have. It always gave me so much pleasure to buy things for my kids when they were babies, like you I did have the extra money. And I'm sure the happiness contributed to my good health, I enjoy today.
Everything changed for me when I acquired the habit and discipline to record every penny I spend. At first it was difficult, mostly because it pointed out how I was spending without consideration or goals. Now, it is just automatic and has given me freedom rather than the restriction that I thought it would impose. I'm in control of my money instead of my money controlling me. Happy Sunday, Dawn and everyone ❤😊
I can relate because I made money to fullfill all my wants and needs as you mentioned and could save but I shopped for hobby instead and it was a mistake. If I wanted to take a trip with family, I did every single year abroad , wore fashion clothes and so much more. Now I cut things that I don’t need .
I used to spend too much $ too Dawn when I was younger. Mostly on Coffee/Eating out, what a waste. I make more $ now than ever. Got a good job that lasts 2 years. Luckily I have no desire to spend on anything that doesn't serve a dual purpose so it's all good. Getting old has its perks. I'm finally saving for retirement. What a dummy I've been
You are so lucky to have such a lovely daughter. From what you've said about her over the years, she seems to be low-maintenance. Is she the type that would rather have an experience instead of a tangible item?
At the peak of my career, I earned $300,000/yr. and didn’t save or invest. Bought a big house, new car, designer clothes, expensive vacations, traveled the world and spent it all. Now 25 years later, I sold everything I owned, rent a 1-room apartment above a storefront and live on Social Security plus a small pension. But I’m debt-free and my time is my own. I’m happier than I’ve ever been and grateful that I can take care of myself. If I had invested, I would have millions by now. But you can't live in the past - no regrets.
I was like this too . Addicted to eBay. I have spent $1,000s on rubber stamps when card making and scrapbooking were popular. Now, i would love to give them to anyone who would like them....anyone?
I have never sat there and thought that having a good credit rating was good. I figured out a long time ago that having no money was a bad thing. I always looked for ways to increase my income so I could save/invest more. There were definitely things I could have cut out more waste, but often felt justified and entitled. Not sure why we have those feelings when we have no money. I have money now and am way more careful about wasting it.

I love when you said we need to be a "wise steward of" our money. Thanks! Good luck to us all! ✨😊✨

I can relate.

I admire that you never call out the names of products.
Happy Sunday everyone 🌹
You too!!
Thank you ❤
All I know is I would love to have all the money I waisted back in the early 90s. My house of 75k (in 2004) would be paid for.
Lots of us have been there, done that! You’re not alone Dawn. You’re videos are a great reminder to us that we can all do better now!

Hi Dawn you are so bright and you make my day!
I'm so glad!
She makes my day, too.

That's a lot of 💰!
I'd be a billionaire!!!
I’ve spent a lot of money on my wants and sometimes I still do but I don’t regret it
I used to do some of the same mistakes, too. We live and learn!
My Amazon subscribe and save is a list of necessities. It kept me from going in the stores.

I would like them but I'm in Australia 😂 Postage would cost a fortune 🤑
