Tata owns the Taj hotel in Mumbai which was attacked in 2008, not only were the victims and staff at the hotels were taken care in terms of lifetime salary, education trust for their children but also the police who were injured or martyred that unfateful day. the hawkers and stall runners around Taj Hotels will tell you that once a year or during a heats/heavy rain the hotel staff often gives out food/beverages to them and even a beggar will be treated respectfully at the hotel gates, obviously they won't be allowed inside but one thing that you get with Tata is sincerity and respect.

6:24 Tata Steel was considered to be of low quality in international markets so he hired executives and personally ensured quality to end up buying the 5th largest steel maker in world. similar story with Jaguar Land Rover which was owned by Ford and the Ford Board dismissed Tata Motors and the Indian market to deny buying a stake in Tata. Ratan felt humiliated and turned around the company of which Nano is a story so much so that when Ford was under stress Tata swooped in to take over Jaguar Land Rover.
Later the Rover series faced losses as they didn't have EV innovation and made their cars on multiple bases- so they reduced the variants and decided to focus only on quality. today both these companies are flourishing!

one of the most crucial parts you've missed is that the Tata Sons Chairman position is not a birth right as afte Jamshetji Tata founded the Tata business his son took over but since then no father-son succession has happened. before JRD Tata who is descendants of Jamshetji Tata there was already a non Tata chairman and currently there is a non parsi person at the helm - Chandrasekaran who was hand picked and impressed the Tata family so much as the CEO of TCS ( Tata's IT Firm) that he was chosen to lead the Tata Sons Trust since 2017. this level of meritocracy is unheard of even in top business empires of the world.
The Tata institute of social sciences in Mumbai is still a top MBA college ane the 1st IIT in Bangalore was actually before a Tata run science college, Air India was taken away from the Tatas ro be nationalized and when the govt of india ruined it, the Tatas bought back the airlines by spending exorbidant money to restore its glory which tey didn't have to as Tata already had a high end airline in India - Akasa. India General Insurance was also taken over from Tata to be nationalized. Most of this had happened before Ratan Tata came, this shows the heritage and legacy he inherited, yet he managed to add his own bit and made a difference.
Great man with great ambitions and no doubt it's a great loss for India.

He was zoroastrian, parsi. His ancestors came to india during Islamic prosecution of persia. He believed in the values of zoroastrian. He spent his early life in the western world to get world class education from top universities of the world. Then he came back to india to and took control of tata and changed the business scenario in india.
He was very indian and in india hindu people have a lot of respect for animals, so he might have got those values from india.
