  • Cariñosa (Spanish pronunciation: [kaɾiˈɲosa], meaning the loving or affectionate one) is a Philippine dance of colonial era origin from the Maria Clara suite of Philippine folk dances, where the fan or handkerchief plays an instrumental role as it places the couple in romance scenario.
    The cariñosa is a Philippine folk dance of Hispanic origin. It is closely associated with the island of Panay and the Visayas region in general. The word cariñosa is from the Spanish cariñosa meaning the affectionate one. Most Filipina women can be described as karinyosa.
    This is a courtship dance that portrays acts of flirtation between a man and a woman. The dancers perform steps resembling hide-and-seek movements. The woman holds a handkerchief or sometimes a fan.
    Rivaling the tinikling, the cariñosa has also been called the national dance of the Philippines, though a government declaration has never been made designating either one as official.

      Depends if your age now is 16 years old above, and live outside the Philippines most of your age, it’s hard to reconnect, the best way to reconnect is do it at a very young age, parents should teach their kids Filipino practices , thinking , and language. If both of you at 20 years old above and don’t even enough knowledge of Filipino ethnicity itself. I’m so sorry It’s too late 😢, most of 17’s of age failed to connect for being Filipino through Language, thinking and Practices. It’s a lesson learned.

      @HiItsMe-ip8cj Год назад

      reconnecting is not easy as you think, knowing that Filipinos in mainland are selective, they know how to differentiate between Filipinos and Filipino diaspora. Sometimes there’s a prejudice from Filipino mainland itself towards diaspora or even half blood. That’s why filipino mainland Set this standard they will accept you if you speak their language they already disregard the practices and thinking as basis if the person is Filipino, Only the language. Asian by blood? Asian is just a term to describe people who live in countries situated in Asia. Asia is a geographical term not a racial term. Asian countries comprise of many different races. To say Asian blood is just wrong. Modern Filipinos are predominantly mongoloid. Indians and Arabs are Asians too but they look nothing like us. Well I have Indian Filipino blood from my mother's side while I got my Italian Arab Filipino blood from my fathers side. Yeah I may not look like a typical Filipino but that still doesn't change the fact that Filipinos are mostly mongoloid.

    THIS Filipino dance has an attractive and captivating start. However, I've noticed for some decades now that some Filipino dances like this one, NO LONGER USE THE ORIGINAL GRACEFUL, ALLURING AND FASCINATING ARIMUNDING-MUNDING HAND SWAYING THAT WAS ALWAYS A PART OF FILIPINO DANCING.
    Allow-Tolerate a group to mess a part of a Filipino dance, and despite the messy change making the cultural dance less lovely, other dancing groups emulate it just because the first one who made the change was a POPULAR GROUP. Eeew, that is so disappointing and the first group who made the change had no right to do that. Let's preserve and maintain the graceful, alluring and fascinating arimunding-munding hand swaying in our cultural dances again, please. After all, it should be enhancement and enrichment, never retrogression or deterioration at all.

    Hindi pa rin nman nawawala ito sa isang subject na mapeh pag p.e. na yan lagi pinapasayaw o kaya tinikling kaya wag ninyong sabihin na nakalimutan na ito ng ngayong henerasyon masyado nyo kasing binababaan ng tingin ang bagong henerasyon kaya minsan yun na din ang nagiging tingin nila sa sarili nila at yun na lang din ang inaasta nila dahil yun ang pinakita,pinarinig,tinuring,at natatak sa kanila kaya parang ang dating henerasyon din ang dahilan kaya ganito ang bagong henerasyon ngayon
