Cautious optimism. I have been saying the Gators could be undefeated going into the Kentucky game because the first half of the schedule isn't as hard as people have made it out to be. It is no harder than any other first half we have had to play. But then we could go winless the second half of the season. 6-6 seems right. And you can flip flop the Tennessee and Kentucky games, win one, lose one. But 6-6 is my bet. But I also think Napier is still around even then.
8 wins is very reasonable considering what UF is returning and what some of these teams are replacing. Texas at Austin will be tough, Ole Miss will be a highscoring boat race, UT is rough in Knoxville, and no one is beating UGA these days. All the other games are winnable.

I agree with your prediction however i think we go 9-3 with a win over Tennessee or Ole Miss. If we do this we should get in the play offs with this schedule.
If that happens, more power to them, but I as a Gators fan ain’t getting my hopes too high. I’m expecting disappointment so I won’t be disappointed

I’m not sure that gator fan can be wowed this year. The main reason Billy is on the hot seat is from rather unreasonable and unrealistic expectations. I read an article last week in a supposedly pro gator magazine that if Billy doesn’t go at least nine and three this year, then he needs to go.
It just feels like the fans put them behind the 8ball before we get started.
I’m not saying that there haven’t been things that are hard to swallow the past 2 years, but some factors have to be taken into account.
Besides, does firing Billy solve anything for us. What top-tier Coach would want to take his place? Knowing how Our fanbase will treat them. Knowing how hard the schedule is going to be. And knowing that there’s not enough money for the players in the current market.

I'm right there with ya on a 6-1 start, which is attainable (i agree sadly and think Vols get us), but the last gauntlet 5 is gonna be about health.
Hopeful w/ the Noles losing, maybe some of these Top 12 progrums fall off, but if we can pick off another 1 or 2 W's, i'd sign up for that rn - love the optimism and go 🐊!
If we beat miami . Will win 6 or 7 at best. The gators have gotten better but still 1 more yr away. The offense and Defense will be better this year, but it won't be enough. Between the O line and figuring out who's going to help wilson is big question mark.
That's an optimistic scenario you present. It may prove to be accurate......"if".....we beat Miami in game 1. But this is where our forecasts differ. I don't think that will happen. Hope I'm wrong.

Georgia fan here. I see for sure losses to Georgia, Tennessee, Texas, FSU and Ole Miss. Maybe losses include Miami, LSU, A&M and UCF. I'm guessing 7-5 maybe 8-4 if you catch a break some where. I watch your vids pretty regularly as well as Gators Breakdown. Both have good content. See y'all in Jacksonville.

UF can absorb a loss to Miami if...Miami turns out to be really good, and UF can get good wins against FSU, UCF and at least a 3 of their SEC foes (LSU, TAMU, MSU?).

I dont have a justification for it, but I think we beat Texas. It's just a feeling I can't shake. We talk about the beginning of the season all the time, but sometimes playing as team at the end of year works in one's favor as well.

I shared my thoughts on the GatorsOnline forum yesterday with nearly the same prediction, but I anticipate 9-3 with us winning at home vs Ole Miss.

I'm a Cane btw. I do think Gators go7-5 or 8-4...I'm iffy on LSU. They don't have enough to beat Miami. Miami will somewhat shock ppl this year. People know they are talented...but its been so long, reminds me of the 2000 Canes that went 11-1 and beat FSU but got screwed for the titlte game. Gators are better than people think. Will beat TAMU. Will bounce back and beat FSU to save Napier's job. They will lose to Miami, Georgia, Ole Miss, Texas, maybe Tenn and maybe LSU. Lets be positive and say they get to 8-4. Unless Napier has one of his rare games where he gets the opposing defense off balance (TN last year) its going to be tough to beat Miami as they are more talented than us at most positions. Napier has shown home field under him doesn't save us much. We lost to Arkansas, KY, LSU and FSU at home. Hopefully the Swamp pulls it out though.
It’s funny you mention Tennessee while speaking of Miami’s talent level vs Florida’s. They said the same thing about Tenn last year and look what happened. Go Gators!

I agree. Beating three in state rivals and getting the UK monkey off our backs will translate into a successful year. I expect to surprise people vs UM.
Dead On by your predictions! I see it going exactly like that, just hope it works out that way. 7-5 really wouldn’t be a huge disappointment with this schedule. I know we are going to lose some games, but what I want to see is how competitive we are in those losses. Not getting blown out, will be huge in evaluating where this program is going forward with Napier.

For the life of me, I can't understand why everyone keeps talking about Cam Ward and Graham Mertz, like they are the only deciding factor in this game.

Defense and running game travel well.
Florida's biggest problem will be stopping two 230lb running backs running behind a top ten offensive line. If Florida struggles with this part of the game, we both know it makes everything easy for Cam Ward.
Speaking of Cam, I also don't understand why Gator fans think looking at Cam Ward while he was at Washington state is a good measuring stick for Cam at Miami considering he was behind the 131st offensive line in the nation and his leading rusher had 321 yards on the season. It's really not a realistic look, I get there isn't anything else to go on, but everyone still needs to put perspectives on the takes to be realistic and not just a fanatic !

Why not talk about the run game more ?
Miami is going to try and establish the run in that hostile environment and control the line of scrimmage to win the TOP and keep Florida's offense off the field. This will help keep mistakes to a minimum.
Everyone is talking about the quarterbacks, but it could easily be the run game that is the difference ! 🤷♂️
A factor you don't seem to be considering is the crowd noise in The Swamp. With Ron Roberts' creeper defense, it will be a challenge for Ward to recognize what's being presented and to make adjustments. The crowd noise will factor in when he tries to audible at the line. To give you an idea of how loud it can be in The Swamp, in '97 against UT, I was literally screaming in my brother's ear and he couldn't hear me.

It's a factor I don't have to factor in because every Gator fan in the nation is screaming that Florida will beat Miami simply because they are in the Swamp with a few Gator fans screaming Graham Mertz is better sprinkled in the noise.
I don't deny the Swamp will present some sort of problems for Miami.
I also know Arkansas and Fsu won there just last year, so obviously, it's not impossible to win in the Swamp !
I have faith in the amount of experience Miami has on the team. We will adjust and overcome ! 🤷♂️ 🙌

Well, Miami fans also have to understand, just bc you have talent, DOESN’T MEAN you win games already. Mario Cristobal is NOT a good coach and CAN’T translate that talent he had the last two years, he’s 12-13 with the hurricanes. OBVIOUSLY, the GT game where he made a DUMB decision to not a take knee tells you MASSIVE time on his QUESTIONABLE end game decisions. Playing at the Swamp is NOT easy, we saw Tennessee get CRUSHED by the Gators, Miami could and in my opinion WILL fall in the same trap like TN did last year
Gators need to make Miami depend on the pass. Load the box and wait for the interceptions.

I think you are correct on most of these and I tend to think the same. I'm calling it a 7-5 season but would be very happy with 8-4. Either way i don't think Billy is going anywhere and with his buyout and recruiting no way they buy him out and start over unless he shows zero improvement and a ton of blundering coaching mistakes

I agree with you I ha e the same prediction for this year as well. I do however, have a little twist where Florida could end up with a 9-3 record and make the playoffs. That extra win would come against Ole Miss at home. If the Rebels lose at least a couple of games before meeting us specially after a L against Georgia right before coming to the Swamp, I don't think Kiffin will be able to keep this team together and with the Swamp and possible playoffs in the future we pull this one at home specially if we can stay competitive against Georgia and Texas and Tennessee. I believe we can regain home advantage this year. Let's go Gators 🐊 🐊 🐊

I expect undefeated headed in to Jacksonville what happens after that still unsure on till we actually see them play but Im only seeing 2 losses at the moment

I think one of the biggest things that is being overlooked is Tennessee plays Florida and the very next week play Alabama. If Bama gets off to a good start I can see Tennessee looking ahead and UF getting them in Knoxville

This is exactly how I think it’s going to play out as well. With a chance to flip one of our losses.
Every game is a referendum on Napier. If he doesn’t win 7 or 8 not counting Bowl Game then Napier and Stricklin should be relieved of duty and escorted to the parking lot. Period.
You do know Napier is still the head coach right? His game planning and game day decision making has been terrible in the past. He plays scared and that's why we lose a lot of close games that should have been fairly easy wins. Hope he has improved in those areas or it will be yet another disappointing season.
