- Floorplan aka Robert Hood lays down an immense techno set incorporating disco and gospel roots into his relentless 4/4 framework. Recorded live at Weather Festival Paris 2015: www.weatherfestival.fr
Robert Hood's 'M-Print: 20 Years of M-Plant Music' is out now: btprt.dj/1B0tELu
Over the weekend MixmagTV crossed the English channel to one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the summer - Weather Festival.
Set on the outskirts of Paris the likes likes of Apollonia, Ben Klock, Jeff Mills, Mathew Herbert, DVS1, Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald, Ricardo Villalobos and lots more soundtracked the three-day event.
Mixmag TV had the honour of recording the legendary Robert Hood performing under his Floorplan alias. A founding member of arguably the most influential techno label in the world, Underground Resistance, and M-Plant label boss, there are few artists as influential as this man.
Occasionally incorporating elements of disco, house and gospel within his relentless techno framework, the mix is a celebration of the history of Chicago and Detroit and a masterclass in how to lay down a truly religious set.
Check what we think could be one of the most memorable two hours to have ever been recorded on MixmagTV

Mixmag why religious ?
Fox Mulder for gods sake leave it yeah
Robert Hood doing it PROPERLY. In other words, mixing techno, disco, house, etc. the way they used to do it before all this genre stuff went up its own arsehole.
+ibuprofen303 word! 👏👍😊
Amen to that!
I couldn’t agree more!!!
Amen to that!!! 💪
Halleluja. Praise the lord. Jesus saved me on the dancefloor in 2017. 🕊️
brilliant set ! good to hear a DJ of that class totally assuming his faith and trying to share the gospel through the talent that God gave him ! I particularly love the moment with Candi Staton Hallelujah Anyway (Director's Cut Signature Praise)
That intro is probably one of the best I've heard yet!!! Seriously sick!!
robert cecil he's been opening a lot of his sets with it recently. Gives me chills every time.

Sounds of Blackness - The Pressure Pt II (Unknown Mix), by Frankie Knuckles. Still unreleased?
Then u probs dobt listen to techno
I missed Robert Hood in Detroit for a DEMF afterparty. The next night brought good tidings, 2-7am, late 70s-early 80s funk, disco house and gospel house. I am extremely grateful to have been there for the night and the early morn. This is what Detroit is all about. I'd say more, but those that know, already know. And those that ain't comin, that's just more room on the floor for us
mastery of collaboration; dark and heavy mixed into bubbles of gospel

Religious techno? Jesus bless you Robert with the power of Holly Spirit and eternal life
of Molly Spirit?
@@DonFrom013 Why not both?
Holy Spirit ✝️ above all else. What does MDMA leave you with other than a temporary euphoria that is synthetic... low serotonin and depression. The ecstasy of Gods love surpasses all that we can comprehend. No drug can ever compare to the love love you feel from God and His Holy Spirit ❤️
@@andcasaga Never had depression after MDMA. Hail Satan.
@@andcasaga MDMA always left me with great memories of amazing night and great music, a sore jaw and pissed that I couldn't bust one after a couple hours of sex.
I guess our experiences are different.
robert hood's intros are always the best

One of the best set of the Weather Festival 2015 in Paris ! Thank you Floorplan aka Robert Hood !!!
Set on the outskirts of Paris the likes likes of Apollonia, Ben Klock, Jeff Mills, Mathew Herbert, DVS1, Juan Atkins & Moritz von Oswald, Ricardo Villalobos and lots more soundtracked the three-day event. Go next year! www.weatherfestival.fr
he already was huge as i started listening to techno in the early early 90´s... good to see he is not broke or wasted ^^
Heard this guy live about 14 years ago in Birmingham (UK) and thought that his style of Techno mixed with occasional House or Disco tracks was actually pretty cool. A bit different from the rest of the DJs that night, who all played full-on relentless hypnotic Techno (which I love ofc). Nice to see he has stuck to this style over the years...
My friend played never grow old for me today in the car and I fell in love with it instantly
73 mins boy he is worthy! He played that track @ t in the park 2 years ago and the whole tent was rocking. Probably the best dj set I've seen and believe me I've seen hundreds
this is one of the greatest sets i have ever heard in my life. amazing tempo, great song selection.
What great set from a true legend. He seems to be having a good time behind the decks now a days. Unlike back in the day when he was head down and all business.

Robert Hood is the god of TECHNO and that is just a fucking fact! : ) Thank you for uploading this Mixmag
The3220Blues Your statement is correct, but he's more than that. The way he plays different flavours makes him also quite original sounding in today's landscape.
Ahhh il est bon !!!
God, Candi Staton's voice is pure gospel. 🔥
I like the start of the session and you?
1:25:08 The Bucketheads - The Bomb! (Club Mix)
hellboy Not quite sure why he played that one, as it goes. Not a bad track, but I think he could have picked a better one.
