"matching numbers" is not a thing anymore with modern cars, that was something special on old cars, is not a big deal as many people think, doesn't matter what engine they put in it.

I would put the original motor back in especially that you guys are gonna put a cam in it. You’ll get way more money with a clean title, matching numbers plus you will be able to sell the motor that has low miles for crazy money
Matching numbers won't matter on a wrecked car. It has a clean title. Big deal. Video documented proof of a crash. Repairs being done by amateurs. No qualifications to do these advanced repairs. Who in their right mind would spend top dollar on this car when you can go buy a new one. Or a used one that's not been crashed. They will make their money in video revenue. They literally make no money selling these cars.

I doesn't matter what they do with that car, it will only be worth so much money. It may have a clean title but it's crashed, repaired by unqualified amateurs. Who in their right mind would spend top dollar for this car when you can buy a new one. Or a good used one that's not been crashed. It's not a rare car. It's not special because these guys repaired it. Their name does not make the vehicle desirable or worth more money. In reality their name will lower the vehicles value. They are not qualified to repair most of these vehicles. I would never buy anything these two have touched unless it was an absolutely ridiculous low price. Like free.
Make sure those wiring harnesses are parts matching before you go plugging them in. If not, you can re-pin them... but that takes hours ! That parts car isn't as loaded as yours. (Different wiring).
Worong harness are a one stop shop. Weather the car is fully loaded or not that is the one ticket item the same. It isn't cost effective to make different harness. The BCM is what denotes the options. Its a 1 time program from manufacturer.

From my knowledge working at a Harley Davidson dealership specializing on upgrading motors.. You'll have a lot more to do than just putting a CAM and exhaust in. With an after market CAM, you'll have higher lift on your push rods causing stress on stock tappets/pushrods as well as your stock valve springs. A CAM (stage 2) upgrade is about a 6-8k upgrade on a Harley Davidson depending on the parts you choose, idk anything about a Corvette engine but generally speaking, combustion engines are all made the same way. I'm a long time viewer here so I know y'all will do it right but make sure to not cheap out when upgrading motors.. it's costly but turns out great it if you do it right. 🤙🏻

Fix the asymmetrical tyres on the r8, you’ve fitted two left tyres on the rear, each side is different on the Toyo R888, this will help with the handling issue you’ve been having

To me it looks like you have a base C8 Stingray parts car (black car) and a Z51 C8 Rapid Blue Stingray you are trying to fix. You need to be careful because the blue C8 Z51 you are trying to fix has much different parts you are trying to swap (from the black car) into it... like... bigger Z51 Performance brakes (bigger calipers & rotors), Z51 Performance suspension which is different, Performance rear axle ratio, Electronic Limited Slip Differential (eLSD) on the transmission, Michelin Pilot Sport 4S high-performance tires and Heavy-duty cooling system with rear cooler AND MOST IMPORTANTLY all of the computers to make sure all systems work together. Also, you might want to check if the blue Z51 has Magnetic ride too (look for wires at the top of the shocks), if so you can't swap out the shocks (and body control computer) between the cars.
That parts car may be an easier one to repair. You should look for a flood damaged one and use that one for parts and then you both could each have a Corvettes. I haven't seen anybody rebuild two of the same cars at once. Just saying.

10 years ? GM can't build an alternator that lasts that long. You can pretty much guarantee that any work on that engine, you're gonna be dropping it out the bottom. People don't consider that when they buy the car. Then they freak out at repair costs and blame the mechanic. I'm a mechanic. I've encountered that scenario way too many times.
Once you've finished with the parts car, You should give your Dad a challenge to see just how much money he can get back via parting wots left out within an allotted time frame. It would be really interesting to see wot you could make back ..
Another perfect reason to get an old dealership and have the showroom for your cars, convert an office to sale merch, maybe occasionally show up and meet fans, and have a store room for parts to sell. Maybe work with VTuned so he has a bigger area to work in and sell his parts?

Break in on a C8 is 500 miles. Probably why the BP k car was totaled as someone couldn’t handle all the power
