@@atomexpires yes that's true. Horses ran alot more races back then. Red lost 3 times. Once in his first race as a two year old. He was dqed once. His habit of running from the back came from getting bumped around in his very first race. Overall he was 16-3 including the triple crown where his track records still stand.
@@atomexpires Are you talking about when he had an abscess pre-triple crown races or when he was raced post triple crown when he was ill and ran with a fever? Not trying to start an argument, but this is known.
Never before, never since, never again , will anyone tapping on their keyboard see a horse as great as Secretariat.... Since Big Red retired, over 2,000,000 horses have been born ( ya that's two million ) and no horse has beat his time yet!!!
Or even come remotely close. Secretariat is easily the greatest athlete that ever walked the earth. No one ever dominated their sport the way Secretariat dominated horse racing. I firmly believe Secretariat could have won the triple crown every single year well into the 1980's had he been allowed to do so. The great Seattle Slew and Affirmed wouldn't have stood a chance against Secretariat
Winning one of the triple crowns is a feat in itself, winning the Triple Crown is glorious. But what amazes me most is that horse running each quarter faster than he did the last, it was in itself miraculous ! It just doesnt happen, unless your Secretariat !
My heart was pounding just watching this video. I knew that he would win but, I was still screaming "Go Big Red! Go! Secretariat come on!". I love Secretariat and he will always be the champion horse. He is God's horse. The horse that God made for himself. God made this horse to give us a glimpse of what perfection looks like then at the end of the journey, he took him as his own but, he still kept Eddie Sweat by Secretariat's side!
Vince Young ... In a world where intellect alone is coveted and rewarded while the Heart is silenced, Secretariat awakens our Hearts... where our best comes from. Maybe the so called "second coming" was already here and it had to be a horse. :)
Savannah..We humans fail GOD (except HIS SON JESUS CHRIST).You bet HE made Secretariat to be "HIS CHOSEN" but also to share with us what seeing perfection can do for us both emotionally andspiritually in HIS divine way using HIS vast animal kingdom to do so.I am so grateful for the memory of Secretariat, and miss him so. He was euthanized on my 45th birthday, Oct. 4, 1989. Thank youand to all the others who experience the "tug of the heart string"when we watch as you say, "GOD'S horse."
My hero is Secretariat. The most supernatural being ever born on this planet was a horse...not a man. The perfect "10"..physically, mentally and supernatural abilities that will never be matched. He was only 3 years old when he was retired. Imagine what would have been. I will always be in awe that God's perfection was a horse. We will never see anything again on Earth that will match Secretariat.
I can't watch any of his races without crying. I heard an interview once with a man who was there at that last race, and he said, "I truly believe we saw Pegasus that day."
So beautiful, agile, graceful and a staunch champion until the end. Loved the feel of the heat that set his legs on fire. He truly could have carried Apollo around the world with the sun in Apollo's hand. God bless and rest this gorgeous supernatural being.
He raced like there weren't any other horses in the race. It was like, lets see how fast I can run today without even considering there was any competition.
No, I believe he knew. He knew what he was doing. Without arrogance, almost humbly. He just would win. Except at Belmont. There he felt like running! 🏇
It really sucks that Ron was suspended that morning he should have been the one to ride for his last race. Eddie did a fantastic job, I heard him say in a documentary he told his wife if I don't win they will tar and feather me right there. SECRETARIAT THE HIGH KING OF HORSE RACING .
Aqueduct stewards had suspended Ron for 5 days following a ride aboard Speak Action....a 2 year old filly. I think that today, they would have let him ride and served the 5th day of the suspension on another day. Eddie was a nervous wreck, worried that if he lost, he would be the jockey responsible for Secretariat losing his last race. But Ron Turcotte had said the horse was so good, anyone could ride him and win, and Eddie Maple was a more than capable jockey!! Ron got to be on him at Aqueduct for his farewell appearance on the track when he just paraded before the crowed who turned out on a cold overcast day to see him. Secretariat seemed confused when after parading on the track, the announcer saying "The horse, is on the track" instead of the usual "The horses are on the track" after the Call To Post, because he was just brought back to the winners circle where a few pics were taken, then his saddle taken off, and Eddie Sweat led him away. It was a happy and sad day. I was there as a kid, and took some pics from the rail with my Kodak Instamatic camera.
And I always loved when they turn for home here, at 2:25 of the video....where because of the cool rainy weather, Secretariat looked like a steam locomotive as his nostrils exhaled the cool Canadian air at Woodbine to the time of his gait.....it always mede me think of Larry Adams, who rode Shecky Greene, saying that when Secretariat blew by, "He looked like the Red Ball Express".
I sometimes wonder if his suspension had anything to do with Canada wanting Kennedy Road to beat Big Red! Eddie maple was a last minute replacement but did a GREAT job! So if the intent was bad it didnt work!
I was 13 when I watched secretariat win the triple crown with my Dad...I'm not even a guy who goes to the track but out of all the greatest games in all sports I've ever seen,,watching secretariat run in any race is my greatest thrill.. Secretariat is by far the greatest!
When it kicked in, Secretariat went flat-out turbo. Absolutely incredible. Watch it and still can't believe it really happened. His majestic power is surreal.
Should have used this as the epilogue/closing credits of the movie. Cold, dark and rainy day in Canada, Secretariat moves into the final stretch breathing steam, leaving the rest of the field in the gloom, and running into history.
I did my junior thesis in high school on Secretariat, needless to say I got an A because he was such a great subject to work with. I watched him win the Derby and cried happy tears when he won the Belmont, there will never be another!
He just had another gear that the other horses didn't. Imagine the other horses thinking they are hanging with him until he dropped the hammer. Once he did the other horses became demoralized and faded. Glad we have all the footage because we will never see another like him!
brentbeardsley655, yes, he had "another gear": a heart that just happened to be over twice the size of a "normal" horse! Secretariat was simply a wonderful freak of nature and God's whimsy. (D'ya suppose She/Her/ Them did have any whimsey?) 😁
@@aileen694 agreed. That heart helped for sure but he was just blessed with incredible speed. The move at the Preakness stands out in my mind. When he decided to run he made the other horses look like they were standing still. Sham was a great horse and a worthy adversary but no horse ran like Secretariat did in 73.
Leta Jagoe he wouldn’t let himself lose on his last race, he was a smart horse he probably knew that would be his last race and he knew he wanted to win it, he didn’t have to cause he still would’ve died a legend but he wanted to win his last race
@@tylermorro6663 he lost his first ever race, and then 3 more as a 3 year old. He was also relegated to second in one of his winning races due to a foul, but I don't count that one as a loss.
Look at people jumping over the stands and running up to the track as Secretariat goes down the stretch!! I had never seen that before. Absolutely amazing! It's like when the Beatles came to America and the crowd went wild.
Kennedy Road was a great horse but it seems Secretariat regarded him as a pace horse for the first 3/4 of the race. I honestly believe the jockey just kept Secretariat right behind the leader until it was time to drop the last gear, but I think Secretariat wanted to pass much earlier
He lost his first race because of jockey error. Lucian and Ron knew Big Red could run his own race. He was that perfect. He knew when to change lead hoof and kick it into turbo. Ron was there because of rules and just let him do his thing.
Absolutely - both the jockey and the horse knew exactly at what point the reins would be thrown away and the fun would start - had I been able to even ride behind him, I would have cherished that race for life
@@johnlackey1244 I'd call the maiden loss bad racing luck rather than jockey error. He got slammed between horses right out of the gate, I don't see how that is the jockey's fault. Feliciano may have placed Secretariat poorly going through traffic, I don't remember...it was only a 5 1/2 f. sprint.
Great performance by a great horse, a perfect swan song for Secretariat. I love how you can see his breath down the stretch, that cool autumn air of Canada, perfect.
I can’t believe that when I was only 8 or 9 I met this horse. He was big. I mean BIG. My mom worked for the daily Racing Horse and she would always go to the races. Siting at the press house while she had her friends take me to see the race horses down stairs in the stables and once day in Santa Anita I met this horse and I actually touched him. I was scared but I touched him. Didn’t know at the time who he was but I told mom and her friend said to my mom I take her to met Secretariate. She got to pet him. And well it was a great honor for me. Very great honor to have met a King
I love Big Red he was the greatest race horse ever to grace our planet ❤ Rest in Power Big Red you will never be beaten 💙 or replaced. You live on in our hearts and minds forever... and the track records!
There will never be another horse like Secretariat, I am honestly sad that he passed it is such a shame. But he will always be in memory. He was so fast and he was a god.
Even after all these years later I am still moved to tears by this horse Secretariat. God I love to watch him run even now wishing he was still here amongst us physically and not just spirit. He belongs to God now but once we were privileged to have seen him run.
First time seeing this race. Now that's how a phenom ends a career, basically hanging around and then just putting on the after burners. Wow, just wow.
Jethro Tull "Locomotive Breath" in the flesh!! My wife and I visited Churchill Downs last month and saw Secretariat's stall there. Both our dads passed on over 25 years ago. They loved "the ponies" along with a nice shot or two of Kentucky bourbon. Here's to Secretariat, Jimmie T., and the Junester and all you horse racing fans in the US and Canada! Love you all!
@@dabking3611 LOL! In response to you screaming at me:. Flight line is A beautiful horse with exceptional natural talent, Secretariat's records still stand today in the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes. Get back to me when flightline breaks those. Also, Secretariat had a fever the day he lost to Onion. That is not difficult to find.
@@maryc8552 To those people who say "But Onion beat Secretariat!!!!" I just point them to the Marlboro Cup, where Secretariat and Onion faced off again, except Secretariat was sound. And he beat Onion like a rented mule. Usually shuts them right up.
I love this horse! Secretariat! Even his name is spectacular! Such a beautiful and magnificent animal! It’s a shame he died as young as he was! Big Red!🌟
Pure power ! Just burns them all at will. What I loved about Secretariat was that he toyed with the other horses....would let them run with him, and in their own horse sense/language they knew it I think. And then it was like when Sec got pissed off that they dare even think they could run with him he would just burn em all and crush em.
he just burns them up!! people don't fully realize the talent of the horses he destroys, I feel sorry for sham, a super horse in his own right, this kennedy road no slouch, even though made the mistake of trying to run and hide, Big Red was and always will be that Amazing Machine!!!! RIP MY FRIEND!
He was running against the best of the best of the time. Sham was a cool horse. Love him. His heart was large like Secretariat's they say. Love they were cousins! They were royalty running swiftly side by side.
Love to see anyone mention Sham... he was also such a great horse... just had his career at the wrong time for him (and the perfect time for all of us, a hero needs a villian/superpower to push them beyond normal limits :)
Kennedy Road was a great racehorse and was a 5 year old at the time of the race. He was injured in a previous warmup race about a week prior and was not at 100 %. Drop off at the stretch and finished eighth I believe.
I would say the 70s was the best decade for horse racing. You had the queen of racing who was ruffian. Then you had the immortal greatest racehorse there was Secretariat. And you had the prince of racing who was Seattle slew. I was born in 91 but secretariat really is my #1 champ
There were three Triple Crown winners in the '70s, Secretariat, Seattle Slew and Affirmed, plus Alydar, Ruffian, Riva Ridge... you could make a pretty good case that from about '72 to '78 was the pinnacle of horse racing in America.
I'm reminded of Tolkien's love of horses, and how he derived the name of one of Rohans' principle characters. A conjunction of two Anglo-Saxon words, combining "Horse" and "Joy". That's the feeling one gets' watching Secretariat race with such excitement and joy..... "eowyn".
What an incredible horse. I’m really so sorry. He did not raise in his fourth year because I think we would’ve seen what he could’ve done as a mature horse, but a decision was made and we have what we have, which is an unbelievable amount of footage of this magnificent horse. I think a Pegasus, because he seems to fly at the end after every race. And how beautiful what a gorgeous face he has his whole body. Everything about him is stunning.
It was a damn shame that Ron Turcotte, a Canadian, could not ride Big Red in his final race that Sunday in the Canadian International Championship in Toronto. Turcotte had been given a 5-day suspension for 'careless riding' at Aqueduct a couple of days before. You would think they could lift the ban for that one race. Ronnie had ridden him in every one of his previous 18 races. Now having said that, as others have similarly noted, anyone could have ridden Secretariat that day and finished first, me included, and I'm 200 lbs!
Everytime I see him I tear up uncontrollably. I was 32 in 1989 when he was put under and I am so sorry that I never thought about going to see him before that.
Late summer, 1987. I was a 26 year old exercise jockey, breaking yearling throughbreds at Claiborne Farm in Paris, Kentucky. One day, after the work was done in the yearling barn, my ground man asked me, "You want to go see the Big Horse?" Of course, I did! So, he walked me down to the stud barn, stood me in front of a certain stall door, and there he was: Secretariat. This horse LOVED attention! He immediately left the hay he was munching on in the corner and wheeled around to greet his visitor. I was in awe. He was 17 at the time, and still looked fit enough to race. I only got to pet him on the muzzle through the bars of the stall door, but silently wanted to be legged up on his back, if just for a brief moment. Still, I felt honored to be able to just pet him on the muzzle a bit. It's a memory I treasure, even more so as the years have passed. Anyway, just thought maybe sharing my visit with Secretariat would be some small consolation for your not being able to see him before he died. Wow, If only we could turn back time, huh?
@@richardmorris7063: It is a treasured memory! But I sure wish I'd known back then what I know now; because, in hindsight, I was a fool for not at least asking for a few strands of hair from his grooming comb, or something. Opportunity lost.😕
nah; we selectively bred the animals for some impressive results, but they've pretty much topped out. enhancing traits of speed and power even further results in rapid over-stress and injury. there's nothing about the passage of time that creates a stronger species. perhaps a more adapted one, but if you're talking about the 'millions of years brings a more advanced, evolved species,'... you might be waiting for a long time. indefinitely, even.
Speaking of souvenirs (i.e. clumps of sod) of Secretariat's final race, many bettors did not cash their winning pari-mutuel ticket that day, keeping it as a souvenir instead. The Woodbine racetrack printed the tickets bet on Secretariat with the words "Big Red" on them instead of his cloth number. Since he went off at 1 to 9, he only paid $2.10 anyway on a $2 wager...so the mutuel ticket was worth more as a souvenir than the 2.10 $CAN, lol. Stories in the newspaper the next day said bigger bettors, apparently, made their big wagers, but also purchased a second $2 ticket for just that reason. Great memories of the greatest thoroughbred ever...
There he goes there he goes another great call, secretariat switches into another gear 0-60 and gone. Absolutely sensational. We still love and miss you big red thanks for the memories. There he goes.
The Greatest horse/athelete to ever live the steam coming out him gives me goosbumps. Jack Nicklaus said it best. I stirve for perfection every time on the course never able to achieve it...I just saw perfection (Belmont Stakes 1973)
When you can see Kennedy Road and Secretariat coming in front of the stands the first time, check out their strides. Kennedy Road is taller than Secretariat, but his strides are shorter. Gaffney said he loved to run and would 'reach out and grab the earth'. You can see it.
Last race and his victory aside I find this footage absolutely breathtaking. The dwindling daylight coupled with the dreary overcast weather..the people running towards the rail in a way that has never ever occurred and out of the darkness comes a locomotive with steam bellowing

His habit of running from the back came from getting bumped around in his very first race. Overall he was 16-3 including the triple crown where his track records still stand.
His last race. ruclips.net/video/Ow2LcVdijt8/видео.html
@@jasondulier3559 Yes!! Completely agreed.. Nice words..
Monarchos(may have spelled hat wrong) was half a second slower then secretariat
Winning one of the triple crowns is a feat in itself, winning the Triple Crown is glorious. But what amazes me most is that horse running each quarter faster than he did the last, it was in itself miraculous ! It just doesnt happen, unless your Secretariat !
Well Flightline will most definitely challenge this!!!
MY MIND IS BLOWN! Secretariat was & always will be the GREATEST athlete the racing community's has seen & will see EVER!
Yes!!!! For Ever and Ever!
I remember Secretariat as a 5 year old child and hearing my dad talk about how great this horse was and he was ever so right.
God's perfection. When I say OMG, I really mean Oh, my God. Secretariat the immortal horse. Amazing, beautiful, and perfect horse. I love him.
Me too, but I had the EXTRA excitement of forgetting what happened, WOW!!!!!!!!
Amen....to that!
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets teary eyed watching him run.
I do too... I always get teary eyed watching Secretariat race.. He was just so incredibly special...
God sure blessed that horse. Greatest of all time..
He raced like there weren't any other horses in the race. It was like, lets see how fast I can run today without even considering there was any competition.
agree :)
Exactly.. I dont think he ever thought to beat any other but his best..
No, I believe he knew. He knew what he was doing. Without arrogance, almost humbly. He just would win. Except at Belmont. There he felt like running! 🏇
Most beautiful athlete in our time.
Love him so dearly; there was no greater horse than Secretariat!!!!
I really dont even like horses that much but everytime i see big red i tear up its crazy how special of an animal he was
Bold, beautiful and powerful - what an amazing horse.
It really sucks that Ron was suspended that morning he should have been the one to ride for his last race. Eddie did a fantastic job, I heard him say in a documentary he told his wife if I don't win they will tar and feather me right there.
SECRETARIAT THE HIGH KING OF HORSE RACING .
julie hertz why was Ron suspended?
@@taxisteve929 what year was Secretarit at Woodbine race track?
I was 13 when I watched secretariat win the triple crown with my Dad...I'm not even a guy who goes to the track but out of all the greatest games in all sports I've ever seen,,watching secretariat run in any race is my greatest thrill.. Secretariat is by far the greatest!
There's not a horse on earth that can compare with Secretariat. Not then, not now. He was truly a champion. Always will be.
2:09 good lord look at that acceleration.
+CapAnson12345 Big Red was/is the greatest.
Yep and that's all after running about 10f or so that he still had that much left in the tank after running over 1 1/4 miles!!!!
When it kicked in, Secretariat went flat-out turbo. Absolutely incredible. Watch it and still can't believe it really happened. His majestic power is surreal.
Big Red was once clocked at 49mph!!
@@foots-qt4pk wow!!
People actually running across the track wanting to get close to their hero, legend, athlete. Once in a lifetime. RESPECT
Should have used this as the epilogue/closing credits of the movie.
Cold, dark and rainy day in Canada, Secretariat moves into the final stretch breathing steam, leaving the rest of the field in the gloom, and running into history.
Let's be honest, there's a massive list of things the movie could have done much better.
It's that breathing steam part that gets to me. He's a monster coming down.
This is one horse that will always put chills down your spine.
I did my junior thesis in high school on Secretariat, needless to say I got an A because he was such a great subject to work with. I watched him win the Derby and cried happy tears when he won the Belmont, there will never be another!
How is that I watch this 1000 times and still get the goosebumps.
You too? I get goose bumps watching the Triple Crown Races as well! This horse was legendary!
Yes I cry when I see this! Long live Secretariat!
😭Tears of Pure Joy, what a Gift it was to watch Secretariat run & perform 🙏🙏🙏
The greatest horse of all time and did you know his heart goes like 3 hearts in one
Big red forever
Big Red's secret weapon: A huge red heart almost as big as he was! More pump in this thump.
Yep!
More accurately his heart was nearly 3 times the size a normal horse weighing 22 pounds. Normal horses hearts are 8.5 pounds.
My favorite big horse is Secretariat...favorite small horse...Seabiscuit...both amazing animals!
He just had another gear that the other horses didn't. Imagine the other horses thinking they are hanging with him until he dropped the hammer. Once he did the other horses became demoralized and faded. Glad we have all the footage because we will never see another like him!
Well said. :) truly special!
brentbeardsley655, yes, he had "another gear": a heart that just happened to be over twice the size of a "normal" horse!
Sham was a great horse and a worthy adversary but no horse ran like Secretariat did in 73.
near the middle, I actually thought Secretariat would lose.... Wow, I've never been more wrong in all my life.
Yeah true same with me too
I thought the same thatbhe will fall on the 2nd position..
Leta Jagoe he wouldn’t let himself lose on his last race, he was a smart horse he probably knew that would be his last race and he knew he wanted to win it, he didn’t have to cause he still would’ve died a legend but he wanted to win his last race
Losing was never an option for the immortal Secretariat. The GOAT
@@tylermorro6663 he lost his first ever race, and then 3 more as a 3 year old. He was also relegated to second in one of his winning races due to a foul, but I don't count that one as a loss.
Haven't seen this. Thanks for posting! Simply the GOAT!
Look at people jumping over the stands and running up to the track as Secretariat goes down the stretch!! I had never seen that before. Absolutely amazing! It's like when the Beatles came to America and the crowd went wild.
Greatest athlete to ever walk this earth
and he left him in his wake; dirt or grass, doesn't matter!
That’s how a real one leaves this earth, happy and a champion❤️ so upsetting that he’s gone but i still have part of his family in my life
2021 and first time seeing this. Thanks for posting this video. Wow what an absolutely amazing horse.
Absolutely - both the jockey and the horse knew exactly at what point the reins would be thrown away and the fun would start - had I been able to even ride behind him, I would have cherished that race for life
@@vickimcchesney1335 don’t you know it. Big Red will be one of the first I look up on the other side. Heaven would be a ride on the GOAT.
@@johnlackey1244 I'd call the maiden loss bad racing luck rather than jockey error. He got slammed between horses right out of the gate, I don't see how that is the jockey's fault. Feliciano may have placed Secretariat poorly going through traffic, I don't remember...it was only a 5 1/2 f. sprint.
Secretariat was so huge, Olga Korbut and Even Knievel had to standby for him.
Love that! Love Olga and Knievel even when Secretariat turned them into his bridesmaids.
Lol. I guess you have to be pretty old these days to appreciate that quip.
Seeing fans running out to get a closer look was amazing!!! Rock star horse.
Big Red was just incredible. It's like Big Red is just coasting through much of the race and turns it on towards the finish.
What a privilege to have witnessed such a superb horse.
Even after all these years later I am still moved to tears by this horse Secretariat. God I love to watch him run even now wishing he was still here amongst us physically and not just spirit. He belongs to God now but once we were privileged to have seen him run.
❤ the roar of the crowd enhanced his desire to win. He was a showman who loved this game. ❤
When the Lord comes back it wouldn't surprise me if He was on Secretariat..

Also, Secretariat had a fever the day he lost to Onion. That is not difficult to find.

True, I'm glad he wasn't one of those horses with a name like Squid Trinket.
Pure power ! Just burns them all at will. What I loved about Secretariat was that he toyed with the other horses....would let them run with him, and in their own horse sense/language they knew it I think. And then it was like when Sec got pissed off that they dare even think they could run with him he would just burn em all and crush em.

No single horse will ever match the big S. I watch him in the Belmont at least once a week - raises goosebumps every single time
One of the greatest athletes in history
There will never be another Secretariat that horse was just born to win !
Had the great privilege of being at that race. What a Champion!
So where did Kennedy Road come in? Not 2nd.....
"eowyn".
He was just so wonderful. What a great way to go out. The greatest race horse ever.
Notice on the final stretch...in that cold air....how Secretariat’s breath looks like a locomotive! What an animal 🙏🙏
@@SMac-bq8sk I'm jealous..

nah; we selectively bred the animals for some impressive results, but they've pretty much topped out. enhancing traits of speed and power even further results in rapid over-stress and injury.
there's nothing about the passage of time that creates a stronger species. perhaps a more adapted one, but if you're talking about the 'millions of years brings a more advanced, evolved species,'... you might be waiting for a long time. indefinitely, even.
Thanks for you reply,. I'm starting to believe the indefinitely part.
Like a big steam locomotive; condensation pouring out of his nostrils as he buries the filed behind him. Geez what a horse!
When Secretariat pulled away, it looked like the other horse had stopped by the way the gap widened so quickly. God, I loved watching that horse.
My mom loved to watch him run...

Coming around that last turn with the steam blasting from his nostrils, he really was a "tremendous machine."

You all missed something. That horse, the Divine Horse, could have won two triple crowns.
Turcotte said that at the end of Secretariat's racing days, he was just coming into his own, so yes, I do believe he could have won two Triple Crowns.
If he'd run as a four-year-old he'd hold every meaningful world record. He had quarter-horse speed and steeplechaser stamina.
What a magnificent horse , just a pleasure to watch him race ! Never be another like him !
The Acceleration of this horse is just unbelievable Ridiculous Talent !!!!!!!!!!!!
What a wonderful memory to have been there! Second best is to watch it over and over here! I tear up every time.
That horse gave everything it had and Big Red was just toying with him. "Is that all you got? Let me show you how it's done!"
That horse was not human
Every time I hear “there he goes there he goes” I get goosebumps!
When you can see Kennedy Road and Secretariat coming in front of the stands the first time, check out their strides. Kennedy Road is taller than Secretariat, but his strides are shorter. Gaffney said he loved to run and would 'reach out and grab the earth'. You can see it.

You can easily see how his stride is longer. He uses all his energy.
Last race and his victory aside I find this footage absolutely breathtaking. The dwindling daylight coupled with the dreary overcast weather..the people running towards the rail in a way that has never ever occurred and out of the darkness comes a locomotive with steam bellowing
