I’m a vegan but I think hunting is so much kinder than corporate farming. The animals have a great life and then boom it’s over. The meat is much healthier too. Pretty cool mule and your horses are amazing.
@@Nara-zf5kz ... I'm not pushing meat on anyone. I just said try it, you might like it. After all, most people that like meat, also eat and enjoy vegetables. 🤗🤗
the horse blowing at the elk LMAOOOO this seems like fun though! would you be able to make a tour of your ranch someday and showcase all the herds, horses, and donks?
love your videos but take it from an old packer, invest in a maties to cover pack load. helps hold gear in place. great content you guys keep up the good work
Nicely done i couldnt help but admire those bull elk yall hauled in the legs were massive. I thought it was admirabe that one hunter didnt let the first one suffer.
Great footage, always fun to see elk being elk on camera. Judging by the size of those bulls, I probably only need 10 more bonus points to draw a unit like that....... Also interesting to see how others pack out wild game. I grew up cutting the legs off at the hocks and the knees, and only putting one set of quarters on an animal, loaded hide against hide. Props to Red for packing the whole thing out in one load.
What a good hunt! Happy for you guys those are some beautiful bucks. Been a couple years for myself, hoping I can get back into it this year! What a great time
Meanwhile our horses are freaking out while walking past a dead cow or pig on the side of the road. They are normally covered under something but sometimes a leg sticks out. Even if they just smell it, they find it not fun at all😂
As much fun as that was, I gotta ask, when do we get to see you guys catch that runaway Mustang mare? I got an idea that involves that "chute" you tried to use. How about at least 2 riders at each end and at least 3 on each fence side, all carrying loops ready and moving to cut off each escape attempt? In Jurassic Park times, my farrier said "Mustangs are horse times 5." My little lady and that mare have proven that true! Good Luck!
Very nice guys what a awesome hunt that last bull was huge the country there is so very different to where I’m at here in Australia it’s flat as far as u can see no hills in site :) excited for ur next vid I can’t wait to see what happened:)
I just wanted to say thank you "Broncs and Donks" u might not know what i mean i have alawys ridden 'English' but now u have changed my mind i used to think western was "Abusive" ikr.... but now i am western so thank you:)😄
Awesome hunt! Excellent video and great editing! I always love packing in with horses! (Wish I had a wrangler to tend to the horses while I hunt) Keep up the good work boys!
I have to ask, if youre hunting for the biggest bulls, how do you make sure theres still good genetics running around for next season? Is there any way to know if theyve mated by the time you take them down? It sounds counterproductive to cull all the big studs and leave the smaller, weaker ones to reproduce, but then again im asking because im not so educated in hunting ^^
Pushing elk back to to hunters or "Bird Dogging" the elk... "how much do you charge?1?)... I could use a guy willing to do that! I'd also agree maties will hold it all together, help with weather and save your gear Canvas Cutters from getting destroyed by the terrain while packing in and out. I've packed out many bulls and we tie down with antlers over the back and stick or sometime even hang... Noticed that the sideways method worked for you ... question I'd ask is did it ever get the back antler and is it possible to get hooked on branch or tree while horese keeps going forward and pull off into a wreck? RUclips videos are out there see what to do. Your great attitude of "Can Do" will make up the rest and most of time will out do any other method. Keep the videos coming. I enjoy the channel.
could one horse and one person pack out a elk in multiple trips? I have an American Pasafino he is about a 8 years old and would like to use him to pack out elk and deer in the future he's not scared of blood and is good one his own
Yes, look up saddle panniers. I have a set, you ride in, put the saddle panniers over your riding saddle, load up the horse and then lead it out. If you debone the elk you can usually get all the meat on one or two trips and then go back and get the head and hide(if you tan your hides). Make sure your horse is good at standing tied though because elk tend not to die right where you can get a horse so you have to tie the horse and make multiple trips up or down to the horse as you fill game bags with deboned meat. Montana where I live you want three people. One to stand watch up by the horses where you have your meat staged. One to watch down at the kill site and one to debone and pack game bags. We have WAY too many grizzly bears here to make doing a solo thing a very good idea.

Agreed, so long as they use the entire animal I’m super chill with hunting (I’m vegetarian btw)
Lisa... try some elk loin, and you'll forget about your vegan diet!!
@@mervjb809and yall hate when vegans push their diet.. leave them alone-
