For me personally, I have always been "drawn to" bands, especially the first few times I hear them by the drummer. Vessell II is no exception. That dude is amazing. Vessell's voice took a minute to grow on me but eventually I realized what an incredible vocalist he is on top of performing every instrument on record except the percussion. Talented couple of guys right there.

Tips on playing guitar: 1) Get a decent amp with mutliple sound profiles. Peavey Vypyr X2, Boss Katana, Line 6 Spider, etc. Good solid state amps with a good sized speaker, 12" being the best because it gives the most rounded sound. Small speaker sounds fuzzy. (tube amps are much more expensive and fragile. Not for beginners trying to find their sound) 2) Tabs over sheet music. Find songs you like, then google search that song with 'guitar tabs' in the search. Much more intuitive way to learn the song plus you start to understand placement on the fretboard better.
Those mood changes mid song are like... Sleep Token covers of Sleep Token songs. Lol. You know? Like the 2nd half is always like a reinterpretation of the first half, and the juxtaposition always hits so good. AUGH!

Even with how much I love their entire discography, the song still lives rent-free in a very secure part of my heart. If you wish to learn guitar in a style similar to that of Sleep Token, I suggest you check out TOOL and/or Deftones
Neither are your typical "beginner riff"-bands, but if you're up for a slight challenge once you feel comfortable sitting with your guitar, I would go to Ultimate Guitar (website for tabs) and try to learn a riff at a slow pace. As far as learning guitar goes, I would say the biggest thing is figure out what it is you want to play, and what is going to make learning fun and motivating. Don't get hung up on exercises though they can be useful, just figure out what techniques you need to learn in order to acheive playing a song you want to learn. It will definitely be frustrating in the beginning and even later on, so just be patient with it cause it can take a while even with a dedicated practice routine. That being said, pick it up once a day even for just 10-15 minutes, and just mess around, find youtube videos or even an actual instructor if you have questions, you will get there. Best of luck with learning 👍

I learnt guitar by looking up tabs, also watching a few videos on tecnique can't hurt. Definitely learn alternate picking, I didn't and its alot harder to learn if you get used to down picking everything.

If you're wanting to play stuff like this tuning is key. They are tuned low. Some guitars can't handle it. So you might need to invest it a digitech pitch shift pedal to help.
