I didn’t go to RSD this year. We were in Japan and Bangkok.. That kept me busy with record buying ! Steve turned me on to your channel. Good luck with everything ! 🎵 Regards JT
Holy cow! I feel exotic when I hit up a record store in Toledo ;) I really appreciate you swinging by, and I'm definitely going to catch up on your recent vids. Cheers!
Very cool RSD finds that G.B.I. single is awesome and the SRC album too, I picked up the "Gandalf" Great channel I just subbed you up, I mainly talk rock vinyl on my channel and post a few concert clips, glad to see you had a good RSD thanks for sharing, Peace!
Thanks for dropping by! I'm seeing that Gandalf getting a ton of love in the VC, so I think I'll definitely be picking it up when the "regular" release hits the streets. I appreciate you checking in, and I'll be heading over to your channel to sub. Cheers!
I was feeling pretty ashamed for going so long without a copy haha. I'm happy it was re-issued, but a but surprised at the same time. Not many people talk about it or the band. Thanks for watching!!!
I've been lucky with my local store the past couple of RSDs. It might have something to do with the fact that very few people are interested in the same stuff that I am lol. Thanks for watching!
Thank you! Yes, I should have mentioned that Buckley wrote and first performed the song, and that it was first released by Pat Boone (about a year before Buckley released his Starsailor album). I'll be sure to add that when I talk about the EP again in an upcoming update. Appreciate your visit!
Nice pickups, I'm still waiting on my copy of Electrafixion, didn't see it locally so I had to order it online from a shop. This year I wasn't even planning to go to RSD but I ended up finding a few good titles and was glad I did. Have a good weekend.
Yeah, I had to go online and score a copy of the "correct" The Bodysnatchers EP lol. Turns out, even if I had had my head on straight on RSD I would've been out of luck since my local store didn't get any copies in. Thanks for watching, and I hope you had a great weekend!
As do I! Ever since watching it, "the elves have gone too far" makes a frequent appearance in my conversations haha. But it did actually result in me checking out the past winners. Some real duds, but every now & then a gem :) Thanks for watching!
Not sure why this video was in my recommended section, I don't think I've ever looked up anything about vinyl records or hi-fi related topics, maybe something I was listening to tripped the algorithm. Anyway I watched and found it enjoyable. Sounds like your record day was a success! Aside from that one slightly confusing named album 😂 All the best for next time Dave!
Yeah, who can say what the man behind the RUclips curtain has in store for us! I really appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment though. I hope the rest of your weekend is awesome!
I appreciate the sub! Yeah, Steve's a great guy :) By some strange twist of the algorithm I have never stumbled across your channel before, so I subbed up! Thanks for stopping by!
Great catch! Too bad coming home and dawning on you that you picked up the wrong record! We did pick up one record that is the same, you in Michigan, me in Denmark. Electrafixion. I am a big Echo and Ian McCulloch fan yet had never heard this record. I see it as the Bunnymen re-union album. Or it lead to it. Even Mazzy praised it. Unlike Steve I don’t think I came across a CD of it back in the day, whilst knowing who they were. I think you are the first north american in the VC I’ve heard mention the Eurovision Song Contest! 😄 Thanks for showing us your RSD haul! Cheers from Morten
Hello Morten! I haven't seen very many people showing the same albums that I picked up. I'm beginning to wonder if I have very bad taste 🤣 I never had a copy of the Electrafixion album on CD, but I have heard several people say that it sounds like a Bunnymen reunion album. I'll be spinning it this weekend so I'm excited to find out! As obsessed as Americans are with shows like American Idol and America's Got Talent, I'm surprised that more don't follow Eurovision. Thank you for watching!!!!
@@DavesBasementGrooves Eurovision is so huge in Australia they are allowed to particupate! But they won’t be allowed to hold the contest if they win (logistical reasons). Not a heck of a lot of feedback on the records in my RSD video but people did respond to the Electrafixion one. I haven’t seen anyone having picked up my Prefab Sprout, Pulp. Charlatans or… Big Country, or did Rob? Now I’m all unsure 😄 I hope you enjoy the album. I haven’t gotten to it yet. Really enjoyed the Verve B-sides so been spinning that one a few times allready 😄
@@MortenAastad I really dig The Verve, but didn't see that one on the shelves. I have seen one other person - Crooked Walker in Canada - show the Pulp album. I'm would have liked to have picked up the Big Country (one of my favorite bands) but it's another one that I didn't see.
@@DavesBasementGrooves I was surprised to see so many UK RSD’s here, we tend to get shortchanged with those. Seems getting the US ones easier than getting the UK ones, but this year, pretty good. Apart from my number 1 wish, Super Furry Animals. This was my first Verve on vinyl. Very nice record in deed! 😊
Was able to get a copy of the only RSD release I was looking for....Groovie Ghoulies - Forty Years. Would have picked up a copy of the SRC but didn't see any at either of the 2 stores I went to but I didn't make it until later in the day. That Lordi looks interesting but I don't think we got that one in Canada.
The Groovie Ghoulies was on my "if I see it I'll get it" list, but my shop didn't get a copy in and neither did the other shop in town. I have been hearing (on RUclips) that it was a really tough one to find, so congrats on snagging yourself a copy!
The Dio picture disc? I have to admit, it was tempting - though I didn't see a copy while I was out. Ateez - that's one I haven't heard of before. Looks like Kpop? I'll check out some clips! Thanks for watching!

Thanks, Dave ! I'm back down the earth after an amazing Asian journey.. back home, I mean ! Thanks, and I will watch more of yours ! 🤘
That lamp is gorgeous! Great pick ups by the way!
Thank you! My daughter surprised me with that for my birthday a few years back. Thanks for watching!

That SRC album is great. Agree with you on the RSD first.

Nice GB and Electrafixion! I nice to know you can avoid the lines and still get some good stuff.
I've been lucky with my local store the past couple of RSDs. It might have something to do with the fact that very few people are interested in the same stuff that I am lol. Thanks for watching!
Song to the siren was made by Tim Buckley and This Mortal Coil made a version actually....
Thank you! Yes, I should have mentioned that Buckley wrote and first performed the song, and that it was first released by Pat Boone (about a year before Buckley released his Starsailor album). I'll be sure to add that when I talk about the EP again in an upcoming update. Appreciate your visit!

I thought Will Farrell won Eurovision in 2006 ! Haha 😂 I love that movie !

The film made me aware of the real competition of Eurovision.. Pretty cool, actually. I might look into older shows..

Hi Dave, I just subbed your channel. Steve Carlson gave you a nice shout out. Looking forward to watching your videos.

Here from Steve Carlson and his shout out to you. Enjoy finding new channels. Nee sub.

I had that CD of Electrificion back in the day. As a Detroit person are you not required to have a copy of SRC?
You are correct, so I have been living the life of a fugitive until now. It feels so good to be able to walk in broad daylight again!
